"Damn, damn, damn, damn!" Divine General Tai Ruonuo cursed furiously several times.

The subordinate generals by his side looked almost petrified, and nobody stepped forward to dissuade the Divine General. Once ranking tenth amongst the ten Great Heads and looked down upon by Su Shuang and Suo Kexiao, Tai Ruonuo now commanded a fleet far larger than the legions of Su Shuang and Suo Kexiao combined.

Tai Ruonuo hailed from the Luluo Civilization, one of the ten Great Heads. Although this civilization was not as aristocratic as the Seven Phoenix Civilization or as skilled in construction as the Borke Civilization, the Luluo Civilization had its own strengths, particularly in the field of material science. The Luluo Civilization was not only adept at building warships but also at constructing and transforming planets, possessing an incredible planet construction and modification technology and holding the most planet territories at present.

Tai Ruonuo was tall and burly; the Luluo people had an average height of over three meters, with solid muscles like that of surreal bodybuilders.

This Divine General was not fond of his peers. Although they were once fellow generals in the High Council, and now all members of the Divine Generals Hall of the Galactic Empire, Tai Ruonuo had won many battles; yet he did not share the fame of Divine Generals like Su Shuang.

Nowadays, almost all the surrendered Divine Generals were members of the Divine Generals Hall, each leading their legions and acting as de facto warlords. However, Tai Ruonuo was subordinate to the Prime Minister’s Office and still loyally served his own civilization.

The war against the United Empire of Nuoye Star and Iridium Star was initiated by Su Shuang and Suo Kexiao, but the decision to escalate it was made by the Prime Minister’s Office, which functions similarly to the Galactic Empire’s cabinet. Ever since his emergence, the Galactic Emperor had not appeared in public, and even high-ranking officers of the Prime Minister’s Office questioned whether there truly is such a Galactic Emperor. Still, for these bureaucrats, this was undoubtedly a good thing. The fleets of the Galactic Empire, along with the Crystal Cube Core, had united the greater half of the Galaxy. Although many civilizations had become exile governments still opposing the rule of the Galactic Emperor, the Prime Minister’s Office now wielded greater power than the Galaxy itself.

The ten Great Heads had to act independently before, but now they were forced to unite under the Prime Minister’s Office, and each had inserted their personnel to grasp power, brazenly becoming the "true rulers" of the Galaxy.

The catastrophe of the Galaxy, now the largest non-Galactic Empire force within it, aimed to eliminate the United Empire of Iridium Star and divide its benefits among the bureaucrats of the Prime Minister’s Office.

And Tai Ruonuo was merely an obedient enforcer in this plan.

A well-behaved dog deserves a good reward. Tai Ruonuo was now in command of the vast armies of the Galactic Empire’s Prime Minister’s Office, with as many fleets at his disposal as he desired. Relying on the technology and platform provided by the Galactic Emperor, the ten Great Heads also brought some previously secretive matters to the table. The Galactic Empire was now truly the overlord of the Galaxy, boasting the most advanced technology, the widest territory, and the largest military force—none dared to challenge its edge.

"Su Shuang, Su Shuang, answer me! Why are you retreating? You can destroy all of those disasters, they are nothing but ants. Are you, as the fifth Divine General, really afraid of them?" Tai Ruonuo had no intention of being polite.

There was no response from Su Shuang for quite some time, and Tai Ruonuo, annoyingly, kept asking over and over.

"Commander Tai Ruonuo, I would like to remind you that I am not subject to your Prime Minister’s Office Military Bureau but managed by the Divine Generals Hall. If there are no mistakes, you, bearing the name of a Divine General, should be the same. I have the authority to decide how my legion acts unless directly ordered by the Galactic Emperor. Otherwise, I do not take orders from you."

Veins popped out on Tai Ruonuo’s forehead, and had Su Shuang been in front of him, he probably would have crushed him into dust. No matter how he yelled, the signal never reached Su Shuang again. Su Shuang had shut down the communication with him and began to withdraw his legions in an orderly fashion.

When the troops of the Iridium Star saw the enemy retreat, they all excitedly high-fived and embraced each other.

"We won!" the officers and military advisers in the command center also celebrated jubilantly, thrilled and ecstatic.

Yu Dangkou also spoke to Li Cheng with great excitement, "We fought well. Despite our smaller numbers, we achieved an exchange ratio of 1:8 and even forced the Su Shuang Legion to retreat. Did we win this battle?"

However, probably only Li Cheng within the entire fleet had still not relaxed his expression; he wasn’t smiling and, if anything, his face had become even graver.

"No, the battle isn’t truly over yet, and we haven’t achieved victory."

Yu Dangkou was shocked, "Are you referring to the logistics production base on Light Valley Star? With Su Shuang retreating, we can take it down in passing; then the Su Shuang Legion won’t be able to gain a foothold in the Pegasus Arm-5 Star Sector anymore. Though we’ve also lost Nuoye Star, we attained an impressive exchange ratio and broke through the encirclement, allowing us to opt to return to our homeworld."

Li Cheng shook his head, "It’s impossible. The people from the Fallen Empire won’t let us retreat so easily."

It was at this moment that a communication from Bai Zhongqi came through.

"Admiral Li Cheng, be on high alert. Immediately move towards the nearby conduit node and prepare to enter the conduit. Su Shuang has left, and the enemy lurking behind should be losing their patience soon,"

Li Cheng replied, "Yes, Your Majesty, I share your view."

"Hmm, but you need not worry too much; they have underestimated us Iridium Star folks. Since the people backing the Fallen Empire are willing to enter the fray, then I should do the same,"

It was then that Li Cheng finally showed a hint of relief, "Looking forward to the enemy experiencing the might of our soldiers from the Iridium Star United Empire under Your Majesty’s leadership."

"They certainly will,"

Li Cheng led the Nuoye contingent of the fleet towards the nearby node, but, as Bai Zhongqi had said, the enemy would not let the Iridium Star fleet off easily.

Filled with intense fury, Tai Ruonuo was ready to vent his anger onto the Iridium Star people.

En route, a vast array of silver screens appeared in front of the Nuoye contingent’s fleet, and from within the screens, warship after warship emerged. An arrogant voice declared to the Iridium Star people over the public channel:

"I am General Tai Ruonuo, Calamity, and today shall be your end."

Seeing the multitude of warships jumping out from the numerous screens, Bai Zhongqi wasn’t too surprised; although he did not know how the adversary would appear, he had already anticipated it.

"A one-way Stargate, is it?"
