Chapter 34: Chapter 21: Teleportation Array

The next day, Caesar took her out shopping. Sang Luo bought her arms full of bags, but with a simple thought from Caesar, everything vanished.

"What kind of ability is that?"

"Space Talent."

"You have two Talent Abilities?" Sang Luo asked in surprise.

"When a Beastman’s realm advances to King Beast, they awaken a second Talent Power. I’m an Innate King Beast, so I was born with two."

’Space Talent is way too useful.’

Her gaze on him instantly grew fervent.

Caesar raised an eyebrow. She was acting so prim and proper, a complete reversal from the night before. "In three months, I’ll help you unseal it."

"..."

’I walked right into that one.’

"I want to ride that," Sang Luo said, pointing to a Ferris wheel at an amusement park. Perhaps as a tribute to human civilization, the Yalan Empire had many buildings that imitated the architecture of the ancient human era.

Caesar took her over.

The Ferris wheel slowly ascended, offering an unobstructed view of most of the city below. Sang Luo had a slight fear of heights, and this Ferris wheel was terrifyingly tall—probably four or five hundred meters.

Caesar wrapped his arms around her from behind, and Sang Luo’s heart settled a little. Looking out the window, she surveyed the entire city, mentally mapping out a route.

She touched the silver bracelet on his wrist and said casually, "This is so pretty. I want one too."

"I just got it last night. I was planning on giving it to you in the next day or two anyway." Caesar took out a small black velvet box. He opened it to reveal a snake-shaped silver bracelet, which he placed on her right wrist. It automatically adjusted to fit her perfectly.

This was a Light Computer Bracelet he had specially commissioned. It looked like a silver bracelet of a snake biting its tail. The snake’s head was a blue crystalline gem that connected directly to the user’s consciousness and could project a screen of light. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

If one looked closely, there seemed to be two inconspicuous bumps on the snake’s head. Sang Luo didn’t notice these details, but she did look at the bracelet on his hand again. ’It’s a matching set.’

Caesar said, "I’ve already registered an identity for you and linked it to my account. It’ll be very convenient for you to get by in the city when I’m not around. Do you need me to teach you how to use it?"

"No need. I’ve seen you and Leon use yours before, so I already know how."

Sang Luo’s eyes curved into smiling crescents. She stood on her tiptoes, hooked her arms around his neck, and planted a kiss on his cheek.

Just as the Ferris wheel reached its apex, clusters of fireworks exploded in the sky. In that moment, as they embraced and kissed, Caesar’s heart pounded in his chest. He knew he would never forget it.

On the way back, Caesar was relieved to see Sang Luo happily fiddling with her new bracelet.

’She really likes living here. Sooner or later, she’ll fall for me...’

Soon, Caesar was busy again and nowhere to be seen most days. Leon, however, started dropping by often. Before long, Sang Luo had completely won him over, and he had become her loyal new lackey.

Sang Luo learned that Caesar had to go away for a meeting and likely wouldn’t be back for about a week.

Sang Luo said to Leon, "That cod jerky is delicious, isn’t it? We’re running low at home. I was thinking of going out to buy some beef to make jerky. I’ll share some with you when it’s done."

"Some parts of the city aren’t very safe, so it might be a little dangerous for a female to go out alone. Why don’t I go with you!" It was true that Leon was a foodie, but Caesar had also specifically instructed him to act as Sang Luo’s bodyguard.

Sang Luo didn’t refuse. "Fine. The ingredients will be heavy, so you can help me carry them."

They spent the whole afternoon shopping through half the city. Leon, loaded down with bags of all sizes, was about to die from exhaustion. ’He’d never been this tired, not even when he was sent off to war!’

Then, Sang Luo spotted something new and fun, and in the blink of an eye, she vanished.

Leon searched the entire area but couldn’t find her, so he quickly sent her a message.

After giving Leon the slip, Sang Luo made her way to the city’s Teleportation Array. She confirmed her identity and handed a few Beast Crystals to the attendant.

The Teleportation Array was powered by Beast Crystals and could transport people to another location in an instant, but its drawback was that travel was only possible between established arrays. Fortunately, Original Stone City had a teleportation point. From there, she’d only need to travel another dozen miles or so to reach the Rubel Forest. The area had many tribes and small cities that could serve as waypoints.

Sang Luo had become quite proficient with her Thunder Power, enough to defend herself against strangers.

The moment before the Array activated, she casually replied to Leon’s message.

"Something came up, so I headed home. You go on and take care of your own business! Just have the stores deliver everything we bought to the house..."

She found the tracking system on her bracelet—sure enough, it was active. She shut it off without a second thought.

...

Sang Luo arrived in a small border town. The buildings were made of stone, none more than three stories high, all in a primitive, rugged style.

Sang Luo found an inn and rested for a night.

The inn served a simple breakfast in the morning—roasted meat sprinkled with coarse salt. It was bland, but enough to fill one’s stomach.

A figure caught her eye.

A tall young man walked to the front desk. He had blond hair, blue eyes, and handsome, deep-set features that suggested a mixed heritage. His physique was lean but powerful, his muscles hinting at explosive strength and raw sensuality.

The gazes of several females in the inn were drawn to him. One of them, a curvy Fox Clan female, picked up a glass of red wine and sashayed over to strike up a conversation.

The man gave her a passing glance before looking away, clearly uninterested.

The Fox Clan female was inwardly fuming with humiliation, but seeing that she couldn’t win him over, she decided not to make a fool of herself. With a twist of her hips, she went to find another target: a burly Bear Clan Beastman.

Sang Luo’s gaze landed on the blond man. He had an air of innate nobility, and the style of his clothes suggested he was from the Western Continent. He had no Beast Pattern on his arm.

She chuckled. ’What’s with the last few days? Are King Beasts popping up for free now?’

"I’m sorry, valued guest, but our Qianshan Inn is completely full. There is another inn in town, the Wanfu Inn. Perhaps you could try there?"

"I’ll check out. Let him have my room."

A clear, lovely voice came from behind him. Duotu turned his head, and a flash of stunned admiration flickered in his eyes. His gaze landed on Sang Luo’s short brown hair, and he raised an eyebrow.

"Of course, guest. You’ve paid for one more night, so I’ll refund you the money."

"No need for a refund. Just let him have the room." Sang Luo returned the key and turned to leave.

The man’s gaze followed her. Her slender neck, visible above her collar, gave off a delicate fragrance. It was deliberately masked by a jumble of other perfume scents, but they couldn’t completely hide the subtle, natural aroma underneath.

Sang Luo had just stepped out the door when a pair of long arms blocked her way. It was the blond man. His charming, roguish blue eyes held a smile. "How about we become friends? I don’t have any Beast Crystals on me, but I can transfer the money to you."

In the Western Continent, Beast Crystals could be converted into virtual currency and traded via a Light Brain.

’This guy is dressed like he’s rich or noble. Who goes out without any money?’

"That’s not necessary. I’m not short on money."

The blond man didn’t insist. He waited until she was gone before turning his gaze back to the Shopkeeper at the front desk with a smile. "That’s a young female, isn’t she."

"Haha, you have a sharp eye, valued guest. That noble female probably disguised herself as a male to avoid trouble. She even sprayed on some perfume to cover her scent, but any Beastman with a halfway decent sense of smell can tell the difference."

The Shopkeeper had seen this sort of thing before. "They’re usually noble females from prominent families, either sneaking out for a bit of fun or just trying to keep a low profile. There are bound to be Beastmen protecting her in secret nearby, so it’s best not to cause any trouble."

Duotu held the room key, a faint, unreadable smile on his face.

’I didn’t expect to have such a romantic encounter on this trip...’
