The Guardian of Scarlet Bond said in an amused tone, "Well, even if he awakens a shadow affinity, you can’t claim him. That’s the Lady of Chains and Whisphered Vows’ knight, as far as we know."

The Guardian of Obsidian Descent shrugged. "We aren’t even interested in him. If the headmaster did not mind him continuing pretending to be a Blood Knight, then I respect that. She did not bother staring at Myles, seemingly keeping her gaze forward as she spoke.

Myles was stunned. He instantly reacted, moving beside her and kept standing while reading the manual.

He even failed to fully scrutinize the Dream Sirens at a far distance. They were distant and soft-spoken anyway, even to their kin, so they did not attract his attention.

Myles read the Black Marionette Rite manual in five minutes and completely comprehended them.

For the last minute, he actually entered the enlightenment state, where most of the texts he read began to connect themselves, pouring him intensive knowledge about how shadow thread should work.

Myles began to learn relevant sentence after sentence.

Breaking free causes severe backlash, and it might rupture the incubus’ core.

"With this new demonic art I developed, I can no longer control shadows through threads, I declare all shadows within my domain as extensions of my nervous system!"

Afterwards, the manual was finalized just in time the voice of the Guardian of Scarlet Bond woke him up, "Twenty minutes is up. The Crimson Matriculation is more important than your enlightenment."

Myles nodded and said, "Thank you for giving me the chance, Guardian of Scarlet Bond."

The Guardian of Scarlet Bond glanced at him and said, "Oh? Of course, you’ll be grateful. Not only did I give you the chance to read that book, I also protected you when you entered the enlightenment stage.
