Chapter 168: Blind to see the chaos

Theo’s POV:

Amelia took a moment to pull herself together. It looks like I allured her too much than needed! She adjusted the neckline of her plain sleeveless short gown and began to talk.

"The Siren Queen lied to you that the gifted Sirens can’t read the minds of Perspicacious Faes."

"What?" I shouted out. "Does it mean that... you and Cynthia can penetrate his mind? And you know what his true intentions are?"

She nodded her head and said, "Of course! I know what his true intentions are."

Now I understand why Amelia got scared when I showed up here. Cynthia had ordered her not to tell me about this. But why would Cynthia don’t want me to know this?

I recalled what she said to me while she was massaging my hair. She told me that she would go to any lengths to stop me from reuniting with Celestia! I assumed that she was just kidding, but she is serious about this.

Cynthia wants to be an obstacle in my pathway! This is getting good. I can’t confront her about this either. I don’t want to hurt her feelings. She is just watching out for me here.

I sighed to myself and fixed my gaze on Amelia again. "Now tell me what the true intentions of Samuel are?"

Amelia bit her raspberry-colored lips and hesitated to speak out. I rolled my eyes at her and persuaded her to confess just with my gaze.

She sighed out and began to talk again. "Samuel is honest to you! You are really going to become the King of the Celestial Realm. He arrived here to help you out. If you want to defeat Oberon, then you should join hands with him."

For the first time in so many years, I felt happiness. So my desires are going to come true! I am going to defeat Oberon and become the King.

My mind misted with ecstasy as I pictured myself with the Ivory pearl crown on my head. This has been my dream ever since I was five. Even though I gave up this dream for Celestia, a part of me always desired to become the King.

"Thank you for telling me the truth, Amelia! It is time for me to leave now."

"Wait a minute! What are you going to do now?"

"Why are you even asking me such a question? Isn’t it obvious to you that I am going to join hands with Samuel?"

"Theo, stop!" she shouted. "You can’t go against the Siren Queen. If she had forbidden you from doing something, then you must accept it! It never ends well whenever you disobey her."

Why is Amelia not taking my side now? I expected her to stand by me all the time. That is the reason why I came to her place. Sadly, all my friends are turning against me now. And the reason for that is Cynthia!

"Amelia, just now you said that I am going to become the King of the Celestial Realm. So if everything is going to end well, then why is Cynthia nagging me like this," I said the final sentence alone in a harsh tone.

She flinched at my rage, but still, she continued to argue with me. "You are not going to become a King tomorrow! You will have to face countless hardships for that. And you are going to suffer more because of Celestia! She hates you now, and she is going to torture you so much."

"I am ready to accept whatever Celestia does to me," I said firmly and shook her even more. "I have been in the abyss of torment, and I know what the real torture is! So I don’t need Cynthia to watch out for me anymore."

"Theodore," she gasped. "I was wrong before! You are really not in love with her. This is enchantment! And you have become mad because of her. You need help!"

"Stay out of my way, Amelia! The only help I need is from Samuel. I am going to join hands with him and take what belongs to me! The throne is mine, and Celestia is destined for me. I am not going to stop until I get them both."

After I bid farewell to Tangerine and Amelia, I disappeared from there in thin air.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I reappeared in front of Samuel’s cage. This time he was sleeping soundly on the ground. I made a clicking noise by snapping my fingers. He immediately jolted up from his slumber and got back to his feet.
"Your Majesty! I am sorry for dozing off. I just got tired."
"That’s fine! I came here to announce to you that I have decided to join hands with you."
He moved closer to the iron bars of the cell and clutched the greyish rods. "Your Majesty, I am pleased to know that you are willing to join hands with me. I swear that I will serve you well. You can rely on me!"
For two whole minutes, he kept on blabbing about how honored he was to serve me. Initially, I was pleased by his sweet words. But after a minute, it became exhausting to listen to him.
I flashed a fake smile on my face and pretended to acknowledge his statements. This is not my way! I am obligated to be nice to him for the sake of the partnership. Once he was done blabbing, I raised a question to him.
"Tell me when the lame King is going to crown Celestia? We have to do something and stop that from happening!"
"Yes, we have to stop the Dawn from becoming the Princess. But unfortunately, we can’t attack the lands now. It will disrupt the peace of the side of light."
I wanted to laugh at his statements, but I controlled my chuckles. Does he think that there is peace on the side of light? There was never peace in these lands! People of the Celestial Realm are just too blind to see the chaos that is happening around them.
"Whatever," I shook my head. "Now tell me what your strategy is?"
