Chapter 157: Back in my birth land

Celestia’s POV:

Once my thirst was quenched, it was time for me to go back to my birth land. Daviana gave me the old warrior clothes that I wore in my last life. I am surprised that she has had them safely for thousands of years!

The golden yellow robes and the pants fitted me perfectly. But I wasn’t able to wear the breastplate over my robes as they began to suffocate me. Why is this too tight? I sighed to myself and wore my long cape around my neck.

Even without the breastplate over my robe, I felt so confident as I looked at myself in the mirror. I decided to let my golden locks down as I used to do before.

At that moment, Edwin got into the room and scared me. "I am sorry, Celestia, I didn’t know that you were dressing up. I will come back later," he said and tried to leave the room.

"No, I am done! You can come in now."

He took a step closer to me and asked me in a shaky voice," Umm... Celestia! Did you drink the blood of the stag?"

"It was the blood of a stag?! And how do you even know about that?"

"I hunted it for you from the meadows!" he replied.

For a moment, I thought that he was kidding. Edwin never hunts innocent animals. The only things that he slays are the demons and shadow creatures.

"Edwin, why would you go against your morals and kill a stag? You didn’t have to do this for me."

"But Celestia! I am just doing something against my principles for you. But you sacrificed your life for all of us. So I don’t mind breaking a few of my morals to help you," Edwin stated.

I smiled at his response. "Thank you so much for helping me out! I was really starving, and you quenched my thirst."

Darius had opened a portal on the backside of the cottage that leads directly to the Highland castle entrance. I was a little nervous about getting in the portal first. So I let Daviana and Ember get in there before me, and then I followed them both.

I was surprised to see that my father was waiting for my arrival at the entrance of the castle along with a few of the other Faes.

He looked exactly the same as he was a thousand years ago. He even wore the exact same designed robes that he used to wear before.

I wonder if he hasn’t gotten bored of wearing the same pattern of clothes over and over again for these many years. The mortals are not eternal creatures like Faes or Mages. Their life span is very less. Still, they take so much interest in materialistic things!

"Celestia, my child," Father Oberon beamed at me.

I ran to my father and gave him a warm hug. "I am proud of you, my child! You are our guardian Angel," he said to me.

I parted away from him and realized that only my father was wearing the usual armor with the symbol of the sun. The rest of Faes behind him were suited up in different colors of armor.

The most intriguing thing was that their armors had odd and different symbols on them. What is this? Usually, all the highland Faes are supposed to wear armor that has the symbol of the sun.

I looked up at my father skeptically and asked him, "Father, have you changed our symbol?"

"Not exactly, my child! But a lot of other things have changed ever since you sacrificed your life for us."

I blinked at him in confusion. Then I raised my head and looked up at the castle’s architecture. On the top of the castle’s tower, five different flags of various colors were flying on the wooden poles.

I don’t exactly recall seeing these many flags on the castle before. There used to be only one flag, and that has the symbol of the sun on it.

"Celestia, come with me! I will explain everything to you," Father Oberon said.

I nodded to him and quietly followed him into the castle. He took me to the top portion of the castle tower, where the five different flags were hoisted up on the poles.

"Just look at the lands, my child," Father Oberon said and pointed his finger at the greenish mountain regions of the Highlands.

"After your noble sacrifice, mother nature blessed us all so generously that all the damage that was caused by the Shadow creatures were redeemed entirely! The forest of light healed itself and became more glorious than ever."

"That seems to be good news," I cried out. "I am glad that the forest of light was redeemed after my sacrifice."

"You didn’t save just flora and fauna of the lands," he went on. "Your sacrifice strengthened the whole force of light! The powers of all the light creatures have increased to double fold. Our Fae kind acquired powers that we all didn’t even have before. So I had to create five different houses for Faes according to their powers. Each High house of the Faes has its very own symbol and colors!"

Now I understand why there are five different flags on this castle tower. They all represent the five different houses of the Highlanders!

"So the court members whom I saw in the castle entrance belong to the different houses?" I raised a question to him.

He nodded and asserted," Yes, my child! They are the High Lords of the houses."

"High Lords?!" I gasped out. "Now there are High Lords among the Faes too? Only the Mage kind has the High Lords."

"The powers of the Faes aren’t similar anymore. So I was obligated to assign the High Lords for each of the Fae houses," he asserted and continued with his explanation.

"In the past, most of the Faes had a similar ability. Everyone had very little warrior skills and minute healing powers. Now each Fae has a special ability! And based on that, I have divided them into five houses as Healers, Warriors, Perspicacious, Spirits, and Wisdom."
