Forever Destined to the Silver Shadow-Chapter 145: Please give me a second chance....
Celestia’s POV:
"Come on, Celestia! Let us go now," Ember clutched my hand and tried to drag me away from the spot.
"No, I am not going anywhere," I replied to Darius in particular. " Running away is not the answer!"
I freed my hand from Ember’s grip and glanced up at Darius, who was frowning back at me. "If Father Oberon wants to imprison me, then I should not run away. All of these unfortunate events happened because I didn’t listen to him. At least from now on, I should start obeying him!"
"Celestia, it is too late for that. He no longer sees you as his daughter. You are a traitor now! If you show up in front of him, then he is going to reprimand you in the worst possible way."
"Then so be it!" I screamed. " I made a mistake, and today many people died because of me. So I think that I deserve the punishment."
His pale blue eyes widened in horror as he heard what I said. "Celestia," he shouted out loud. "You are entirely wrong. This is not your mistake! You didn’t attack the lands with Shadow creatures. This is all his fault! Why do you have to suffer for that?"
Darius had a point. It is his fault! He manipulated me and attacked the lands. But I let that all happen. Even after my friends and family warned me about him, I refused to see the truth.
"The one who doesn’t confront the sinner is also guilty like the sinner himself!" I asserted. "Do you remember this psalm from the ancient manuscript? I didn’t confront him even when I knew that he was wrong! If I had opposed him, then this disaster would have never occurred. So I am guilty, and I need to be chastised."
He shifted his gaze from me to the wall on his side. I thought he was furious at me, but his eyes got watery. Is he crying?
"You don’t deserve this, Celestia!" Darius said in a bleak tone. After he successfully resisted his tears, he looked at me. " You are pure and innocent!"
"Darius, it is okay! You don’t have to feel sorry for me. Be mad at me like you always do. Yell at me for being so gullible."
"No," he shook his head. "I can never be mad at you because this is not your fault!"
I didn’t know how to comfort him. Perhaps I could make this easy for him. I snatched the dead rock chain from his hand and tried to tie my wrists together. But it was tricky to do it by myself.
Darius chuckled out a little even though he seemed to be depressed. He then helped me in restraining my hands together. As soon as my hands got tired, I felt my whole body going weak as the chain began to suck out all the energy that I had in me.
"Do you really want to do this?" he asked me again. "Please change your mind, Celestia."
I was moved to know how much Darius cared about me. I was so foolish in the past to even think that Darius was scheming against me.
Theo tricked me! He made me believe that all my friends are my enemies.
It is now time that I do the right thing! If I keep on repeating my old mistakes and run away from justice, then I can never get absolution.

I was surprised to know that the courtroom area was still intact. Any invaders who attack the castle always destroy the important halls like this. Perhaps manticores were not given proper instructions by their leader. Anyway, I am relieved that these regions are unharmed.
Darius and Ember took me inside the courtroom when the discussion was still going on. There were only ten subjects in the room.
The rest of them must be taking care of stabilizing the situation in the lands. Or some of them could even be injured in the battle. And some of them could even be dead!
Father Oberon got up from his throne immediately when he saw me. Just like I expected, his gaze was devoid of warmth. I didn’t know what to say to him. Even if I asked him to apologize to him, he would never accept it.
"Unlike that trickster, you have some courage! I didn’t expect that you would surrender," Father Oberon said.
The subjects in the courtroom were highly confused. They had no idea why I was cuffed like a prisoner. Those naive Faes still don’t know that I am the reason why the battle happened.
One of the Fae stood up from his seat and asked Father Oberon," Your majesty, What is going on here? Why have you chained your own daughter like a prisoner?"
I gazed down at the red carpets that were on the floor as the shame took over me. Father Oberon’s eyes turned red as he got furious.
"Samuel," my father yelled out at the Fae. " Don’t ever infer her as my daughter again. She was never really my daughter, and she is never going to be!"
He then glanced at me sideways and said, " I regret the day when I picked her up and fed her the vial of Angel’s blood! That is the first mistake I ever made in my life. She is clearly unworthy! I should have never chosen her."
My heart was already broken into shreds. But my father’s harsh words pierced the little pieces of broken shreds that were left.
"Father," I cried and knelt in front of him. "Please give me a second chance! I will prove myself to you. I will destroy that trickster and be the daughter that you always wanted me to be!"
I didn’t raise my head up and look at my father while I said that. "I know that you wouldn’t forgive my actions. I know that it is too late for me! But I want to start over. I promise you that I will avenge everyone who attacked us."
He didn’t respond to me immediately. The whole room was silently watching me sob.
"Celestia," my father said finally. " More than a hundred Faes died in the battle today. Do you think that they can get a second chance?"
