Forever Destined to the Silver Shadow-Chapter 144: Runaway from here...
Celestia’s POV:
This Fae guard could be lying too! Darius could have instructed everyone here to lie to me. But even if Darius had instructed something like this to them, the Faes would not obey him.
Faes are honorable creatures! A common belief among the Fae is that nothing can be achieved by telling an untruth. They consider lying and deceiving someone as immoral. And in a crisis like this, no Fae would lie! This can mean only one thing.
Theo attacked them all for real?! This is too hard for me to believe! I need more proof than a confession of a single Fae guard.
I got up from the floor immediately and asked another one of the injured Fae. He said the same thing too. Still, my heart refused to accept the fact!
If this is the truth, then I am doomed for my eternity! Theo swore to me that he wouldn’t attack the Highlands. He promised that he would never attack my friends!
When I was on the verge of going insane and breaking out, I spotted Ember entering the infirmary. Just like others, her warrior suit was covered by dust and blood.
I immediately ran over to her and wrapped my arms around her. She was taken aback by my gesture.
"Celestia, are you alright," she asked me and patted my back gently.
"Please tell me that what everyone else is saying is a lie! Please!" I screamed out.
"I am... sorry," she blurted out and moved away from me. " Your man did this! That is the truth!"
"No....." I shouted out.
Ember held my hand and took me out of the infirmary as I began to cry out hysterically. I was amazed by myself! I am weeping like a weakling.
But I am not even bothered that people are watching me. I was in so much distress that I could care less about losing my dignity!
Ember took me upstairs to a dark hallway where no one was around. Since there were no windows in the hallway, this place is always dark.
Father Oberon forbade others from wandering here, and I don’t know the reason for that till today. Still, I followed his orders and never came to this place.
Perhaps I should have kept on following his orders! Everything in my life was going perfect until I listened to him.
Ember held my hand and said, "Celestia, I know that this must be hard for you! You loved him so much."
At least she understands me! After that, I was able to hold my tears. I took a deep breath and said, "I still cannot believe it! I thought that he loved me! I am unable to believe that he would do something like this."
Ember’s face was not clear to me as it was dark here. She gently caressed my hand to comfort me.
"No one said that he doesn’t love you, Celestia! It is evident that he desires you."
"Really?" I asked her. I felt like she said those words just to comfort me.
"Yes! Silver Shadow has never cherished a woman as he did you. But the truth is that he desires the crown too! That is why he is causing all this chaos."
I sighed and said, "If this is the truth, then he never really loved me."
Ember fell silent after that as she didn’t know how to comfort me. What am I going to do now? My father warned me a lot of times about him.
My friends warned me! I ignored everyone’s advice and walked in the pathway of Theo. Now that I realize the truth, I feel very betrayed and guilty!
I should have sensed this before. Theo always desired power! He desired power so much that he learned the Dark arts with the Demon princess Lilin. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
He desired power so much that he manipulated the Mages and became their King. I let that all happen as I thought that his principles were noble.
Today he proved to me that he was never noble. I was just too blind to see it! Even when I got suspicious of him, I ignored my instincts completely as I loved him.
Is this what I get for loving him? I gave my heart to him! I broke my oath, got banished from my birth land, and sacrificed my maidenhood for him.
In the end, he killed my own people! How can someone be capable of causing this much evil?
At that moment, Darius came to the dark hallway. I noticed that he was carrying something in his hand. It seemed to me like the dead rock chain!
Is he here to chain me up and lock me in my room? Or this time, it could be worse. He is probably going to cage me in a cell in the dungeon below.
"Celestia," he breathed out. " Runaway from here. Create a portal and go back to the Lowlands or any other place where our father can’t find you!"
I was too dazed to process what he said. Did he just tell me to run away from here? But I thought that he was going to tie me up with the dead rock chain in his hand.
"Celestia," Darius raised his voice as I was standing still like a statue. Go away from here now! Our Father has instructed all the Faes to capture you once they spot you."
I can understand why Father Oberon is furious at me. He advised me a lot and told me many times not to trust that trickster. But I didn’t listen to him!
So many Fae warriors have lost their lives due to my actions. Then why wouldn’t he be furious at me?
"Just arrest me now and take me to Father Oberon," I replied to Darius.
"No, Celestia. Runaway from here. For the sake of Aiden, run away."
He then looked at Ember and said, " Take Celestia to Davian’s cottage in the Lowlands. She will be safe there! And please look after her and make sure that she doesn’t do anything ridiculous."
"Okay, master," Ember responded. "I will take good care of Celestia. You can rely on me!"
