Foreign Land Reclamation By a Vegetable-growing Skeleton-Chapter 976 - 546: They’re Here to Steal the Dragon Ball!
Chapter 976: Chapter 546: They’re Here to Steal the Dragon Ball!
The grafted saplings couldn’t grow much in such a short time, so everyone decided to head back for some food first. But before that, Ange dug up a huge pile of coal and stuffed it into the Divine Realm.
"Let’s name it, otherwise calling it ’coal coal coal’ sounds quite unpleasant. Since it’s from such old trees, let’s call it Ancient God Charcoal," Negris said, casually igniting a few pieces under the barbecue grill.
"Huh, there’s no smoke at all? Look at these ashes, so white and pure, without any impurities, even purer than the Smokeless Coal I used before," Anthony exclaimed in surprise.
"Not just no impurities, look, the fire is very strong, there’s a strong release of Fire Element. This kind of coal should be really useful for alchemy. I’m going to dig some up," Durken threw out a comment and ran back; he didn’t need to eat, so he wasn’t interested in the feast.
"Magician Lord, no need to dig. Just take a walk outside, there are some places where mountains of coal are exposed on the ground, just smash down a mountaintop," Diyali generously suggested.
"Good idea." Durken quickly flew out.
After the Giant Dragons had eaten their fill, Negris finally started asking, "What exactly happened with you guys? Why are you here? And why did the Sorcerer Alliance attack you?"
Diyali quickly began recounting their hardships. Their group of Giant Dragons had migrated here years ago with the Thunder Titan and the God of Light, around the time of the Sixth Plane War.
When the God of Light was exiled, the Titan God King and the God of Light together opened a passage, directly teleporting from a barren plane. It seemed they had used some special material, and once they came here, they couldn’t go back.
But the dragons were very happy; they had found a place very suitable for hatching dragon eggs on this plane, where the hatching success rate was extremely high. They quickly grew from the original ten Giant Dragons to a vast clan of one hundred and sixty.
That period of history was too distant. Back then, Negris was just a Juvenile Dragon and vaguely remembered that some Giant Dragons indeed went missing after the war among the gods. It was such a chaotic time that everyone thought they had died in some unknown corner, but it turned out so many had migrated here.
"There is such a place that can increase the birth rate of the Dragon Clan? Where is it?" Negris asked curiously.
The Vortex Island in the Master Plane was already a very suitable place for dragons to reproduce, but hatching of Giant Dragon eggs was still a challenge, with frequent incidents of rotten eggs.
If there really was a place that could increase the hatching rates of dragon eggs, then capturing it and migrating all the Giant Dragons from the Master Plane would be worthwhile.
"In the sea, a small island covered in bird droppings," Diyali said.
"Uh, you’re not talking about this island, are you?" Negris described Doroc’s island covered in bird droppings.
"That’s the one. How did you know about this place?" Diyali asked.
Negris recounted Doroc’s situation.
"Uh, so the one that resonated with our bloodline recently was this Doroc, a Sub-dragon?" Diyali said in disappointment. "I thought we had gained another member of the Dragon Clan, but it turns out to be a Sub-dragon."
No wonder Diyali was disappointed, because the types and numbers of Sub-dragons were too many. At the peak of this world’s Giant Dragon population, there were one hundred and sixty Giant Dragons, who knows how many Sub-dragon species they created. She couldn’t manage them all, and one Sub-dragon held no significance to the entire clan.
"It was a Sub-dragon, but the Dragon God allowed it to evolve, now it is a Gold Dragon," Negris said nonchalantly, dropping a bombshell.
To others, this statement might not seem remarkable, but to Diyali and the Giant Dragons, it was shocking enough to stupefy them.
"Dragon... Dragon God, allowed it to evolve?!" Diyali’s voice trembled.
Negris deliberately nodded nonchalantly, his expression indifferent as if it were an ordinary matter, although he was already secretly thrilled inside.
"How... how is that possible? A Sub-dragon evolving into a Giant Dragon? I... I... I..." Diyali was at a loss for words.
Negris put on a stern face and scolded, "What do you mean? Are you doubting the power of the Dragon God?"
Accused of such a grave charge, Diyali’s legs weakened, and she knelt down with a thump. "No, not at all, I dare not."
Negris quickly said, "Get up, get up; no need for such formalities, the Dragon God isn’t here."
"I... my legs are weak," Diyali said with an embarrassed smile.
Unable to stand up due to weak legs, Diyali simply tucked up, pulled her forepaws to her chest, and lay down.
"What about you? Are you their clan leader now?" Negris asked.
Diyali shook her head, "No, the clan leader is my father, but..."
"But what?" Negris saw her hesitating and quickly pressed her for an answer.
Diyali hesitated for a moment, then said, "If you go and see for yourself, you’ll understand. Take a look at the Dragon Ball while you’re there."
Under Diyali’s guidance, everyone moved deeper, and while passing the area covered in ’sawdust,’ Ange grabbed about a dozen fat grubs and stuffed them into his space, along with a few bundles of ’sawdust.’
Upon closer inspection, this sawdust seemed to be alive, some type of mossy plant.
In such underground spaces, it’s very easy to get lost without someone familiar with the terrain leading the way. The large space they had passed earlier alone had countless caves leading to other places.
After passing through a long cave, everyone entered a much smaller one, where a Strange Huge Dragon lay coiled into a circle. Within this circle lay a round sphere, emitting a faint glow.
Upon seeing the sphere, Ange felt a strange sensation as if his body had gained something new, his attention focused on it...
As Ange’s attention focused on it, the sphere within the circle gently moved.
The Strange Huge Dragon coiled in a circle suddenly opened its eyes, looking shocked at the sphere in his midst, "The Dragon Ball...seems to have moved?"
"Father, have you awoken? Clan Leader, the Dragon God Envoy has come to visit you," Diyali said, seeing the Strange Huge Dragon opening its eyes and feeling surprised herself. Since the dragon had been afflicted, it spent three quarters of the year asleep, seldom awake.
"Dragon God Envoy? Diyali, what has happened?" the Strange Huge Dragon looked around at Ange and the others with a strange expression, finally resting his gaze on Diyali.
"Clan Leader, our Dragon Clan almost ended up destroyed. The Sorcerer Alliance found this place and sent a Sorcerer’s Ladder to attack us. There was also a powerful sorcerer in command, apparently that Void Ghost. We couldn’t defeat them, so we used bloodline resonance to call for kin to help, and in the end, the Dragon God came to our rescue," Diyali quickly explained the events.
The father had been in a deep sleep and was unresponsive to even thunder, so he was completely unaware of what had transpired.
"Dragon God? So, these are messengers sent by the Dragon God? Would the Dragon God send a Zombie Dragon, a Holy Spirit Angel, a Zombie, and one... as messengers?"
His gaze finally settled on Ange, uncertain and evidently unable to discern Ange’s identity.
Diyali, shocked, looked at Negris and the others, blurting out, "Zombie Dragon? Undead? Holy Spirit Angel? Are you impostors?"
Negris calmly responded, "We are not pretenders. The Dragon God will explain later."
Then he turned to the Strange Huge Dragon, "You have good eyesight? You don’t look sick. What’s with your body? Why are all your scales gone and what are these bone spikes?"
Negris’s calm demeanour left both Diyali and the Strange Huge Dragon stunned as they looked at each other, wondering whether they were truly impostors or simply fearless.
"Speak up, what’s going on with your body?" Negris urged impatiently, "Whether we are messengers of the Dragon God or not, you will know once you meet the Dragon God. But step back ten thousand steps, even if the Dragon God does not meet you, we are the ones who saved your clan. Is this how you treat your saviors?"
Hmm, that makes sense, and just as Diyali was about to say something, she suddenly saw Ange stretching his hand out towards the Dragon Ball and making a pressing gesture.
Whoosh, the Dragon Ball shot up, heading straight for Ange.
"They are here to steal the Dragon Ball!" the Strange Huge Dragon roared, raising his large claw and swinging at Ange.
