Chapter 380: Chapter 380 - Let Them Drown

Two massive floating islands hovered below Atlas and the others. From above, it was clear that Gwyndelle’s island, the defending side, was positioned lower than the enemy’s.

From this height, it was difficult to see what exactly was happening on the surface below. Perhaps only the flashes of explosions would be visible. But huge floating screens would project every significant moment of the battle, highlighting the key events as they unfolded.

And at that very moment, the war began.

Atlas and Bolin stood far apart, both watching the floating screen to follow the unfolding clash. Every so often, they glanced at each other, ready to react should anything critical happen below.

Suddenly, several massive teleportation portals swirled open around the outer perimeter of the enemy’s floating island. One after another, waves of soldiers emerged. Dozens of them, marching forward in formation, fully prepared for an all-out assault.

Bolin smiled faintly, a sharp and cunning expression crossing his face as he glanced toward Atlas, as if the victory were already his.

Moments later, enormous beasts began to emerge from each portal, dozens of them. They looked like gigantic fire lions, their manes blazing with roaring flames.

A forest-covered island. How perfect for an elemental fire attack.

Bolin hadn’t just chosen an opponent with weaker potential; he had also picked the most effective kind of attackers to burn it to the ground.

The massive beasts opened their jaws, and enormous fireballs began to form inside their mouths. Their thunderous roars echoed through the air, reaching even Atlas’s height. Then, in an instant, the fireballs shot out in every direction toward the island below.

Explosions followed, unavoidable, deafening. The outer forests of Gwyndelle’s island burst into flames, the inferno spreading rapidly as pillars of fire consumed the once-green canopy.

At that moment, Bolin began to laugh. A restrained chuckle at first, but soon it broke free, echoing through the space.

"Look at them," he said with a grin. "Watch how everyone on that island will burn to ashes, just like the woods feeding the fire."

Atlas turned to face him, his expression tightening as his fists clenched by his sides.

Meanwhile, the barrage of massive fireballs continued to rain down, one after another, accompanied by deafening roars and thunderous explosions.

From their height, Atlas could clearly see the outer forests blazing wildly, thick smoke spiraling upward into the sky. At this point, the enemy troops had yet to move. They were simply controlling their beasts from afar, letting the flames do the work.

"Where are your troops, Atlas?" Bolin taunted. "Are they hiding? Soon, they’ll all be reduced to ashes. And the best part... I’ll let you watch it happen with your own eyes."

More explosions followed, the fire spreading rapidly through the dense forest. The thick canopy acted like fuel, helping the blaze devour everything in its path.

Then, the enemy army began to move. They marched forward, their armor glowing as if wrapped in living fire. The lord Bolin had chosen for this battle possessed an ability that granted his soldiers extra protection within fiery terrain. The flames didn’t harm them, they thrived in it.

Hundreds of enemy soldiers, roughly six hundred by Atlas’s estimate - advanced from every direction, charging straight through the blazing inferno. Behind them, the massive beasts kept launching fireballs farther ahead, deep into the forest.

If this continued unchecked, the entire island would soon be engulfed, turning into something that resembled a volcanic wasteland. A burning ruin like the Shattered Ember.

It all happened in an instant. The enemy forces had fully advanced onto Gwyndelle’s floating island, ready to begin the true battle.

Atlas lifted his gaze toward Bolin, who was barely holding back a laugh, clearly enjoying the sight of his opponent’s island being devoured by the flames. From the massive floating screen, Atlas could see the inferno growing even larger, the smoke rising so high that it reached the altitude where he stood, despite the distance.

And then... something unexpected happened.

Everyone’s eyes widened as a massive domain suddenly formed around the island, expanding at a breathtaking speed. In mere seconds, it sealed off the entire battlefield, trapping the raging fire, Bolin’s army, and all of their beasts within a colossal shimmering barrier.

Bolin’s expression froze in disbelief. He stared at the island, his eyes wide as he realized what had just occurred. The enormous island was now completely encased, and even the smoke from the massive blaze had vanished inside the dome.

On the giant screen in front of Atlas, the scene became clear.

A figure hovered high above the island, an elegant woman with long, flowing blonde hair, dressed in a sharp executive-style outfit, a delicate crown resting on her head. Her arms were raised, commanding the power surrounding her.

It was Queen Selvia... or rather, the head of Queen Selvia - who possessed the ability to summon an immense water domain that could cover an entire island. One of the many heads controlled by Dullorak.

Below her, several groups of mages were seen gathering, channeling their power together. At the center stood a woman whose hair flowed like water itself, her armor gleaming, her eyes a deep, radiant blue.

Atlas had deliberately stationed several members of the Hydros team there, alongside Selvara and Dullorak, all operating under Gwyndelle’s command.

Atlas lifted his head, his eyes sharp and focused, a faint smirk curling on his lips as he looked toward Bolin - whose expression, no matter how hard he tried to hide it, was filled with shock.

"Using fire against a forest is truly genius, Bolin," Atlas said calmly.

He didn’t bother to explain further. The strategy was simple, almost too simple. Prepare a massive army with high water-affinity spellcasters to counter and protect against any fire-based assault.

At that very moment, the results became clear. Torrential rain began to pour down across the island, and massive water storm tornadoes formed in multiple regions. They spun violently, devouring the raging inferno, pulling the blazing flames into themselves, and extinguishing the fire with astonishing speed.

Now... It was time for Gwyndelle to reveal the new forces they had nurtured. Atlas watched closely, anticipation flickering in his eyes. He wanted to see for himself how the Rank-A Item: Guardian Seed Cuboid, the artifact he had entrusted to the girl, would act - and what kind of power it would unleash next.
