Floating Island - Triple S Talent-Chapter 579: Act
"Boss, just cut off his legs. That way, he won’t be able to go to school anymore."
"Yeah," another one chimed in with a laugh. "Then Mia will never be able to meet him again."
The mohawk-haired youth nodded slowly.
"You’re right."
The fire whip in his hand slackened, then dissipated into fading embers.
The binding was released.
The Kapasyl youth staggered. His transformation collapsed, the wooden fibers on his skin fading as his body slowly returned to its human form. His energy was nearly depleted. His legs gave out, and he collapsed onto the ground.
Burn marks still covered his body, darkened red and black, aching even when touched by the air.
He lifted his face.
His gaze was filled with pain.
But it was not a plea for mercy.
Nor was it fear.
It was hatred.
Hatred toward them.
And hatred toward himself for being powerless to fight back.
"I really don’t like that look in your eyes," the mohawk-haired youth muttered, spitting to the side.
He stepped forward.
"I’ll cut off your legs... and take those eyes of yours."
With a casual motion, a long sword appeared in his hand. The blade gleamed silver, sharp, pure, and clearly of high quality, not something an ordinary person could possess.
His steps were slow. Deliberate.
As if savoring every second of his victim’s fear.
"Why do people like this always exist...?"
Above the Earth Kingdom’s palace, Nita’s soft voice echoed.
She sat within the small pavilion, having watched everything from beginning to end. Every insult. Every flame. Every trace of malice no longer concealed.
"Is this what they call evil?" she murmured.
"Or... does evil always walk hand in hand with goodness?"
For a brief moment, confusion flickered across her face, not because she lacked an answer, but because she was disappointed by how the world continued to repeat the same patterns.
At that moment, a figure appeared beside her.
A young woman.
Her beauty was no less than Nita’s, yet her aura was different, simple, pure, like that of a village girl untouched by the world.
Nita glanced sideways.
"Help that young man," she said calmly.
"And warn those youths... as well as their parents."
Without a word, the young woman nodded.
In the blink of an eye, her body vanished, disappearing like dew swept away by the morning sun.
A few seconds later...
A notification appeared before Nita’s eyes.
[ Performed a Good Deed – Obtained 1 Lottery Point ]
Nita merely nodded lightly, then returned her gaze to the vast Earth Kingdom spread beneath her rule.
In the past, she had truly loved her cosmic talent, Cosmic Gambler. It suited her nature perfectly: kind-hearted, trusting, always wanting to help others. Every good deed brought a reward. The world felt simple. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
But as the power and authority in her hands grew, so too did her understanding of the world.
In any incident, there were always those who seemed right... and those who seemed wrong.
Yet when she traced events further back, to their roots, she often found that the truth was never that simple.
More often than not, those who committed evil today...
were once the ones who had been oppressed without justice.
That realization eroded her impulsiveness.
Nita was no longer a girl who made decisions based solely on what she saw on the surface. Now, every choice was weighed with care. She did not want her sense of justice to become foolishness that harmed others.
"Speaking of which..." she murmured softly, glancing at the watch on her wrist.
"Fanny still hasn’t arrived, huh."
Her tone was relaxed. She seemed to be waiting for someone, quietly enjoying the cityscape and the bustling kingdom that continued to move beneath the sunlight.
Clang... clang...
The sound of footsteps echoed from the end of the corridor.
Nita turned her head.
A small smile appeared on her lips as the figure she had been waiting for finally came into view.
A young woman approached, wearing a vivid red gown that stood in sharp contrast to the subdued atmosphere of the palace. Her long black hair flowed freely, gleaming like a calm stream under the light.
Behind her, several attendants followed attentively, providing for her needs, keeping their distance, and quietly keeping watch.
"Nita... my dear..."
The woman smiled awkwardly. "I’m sorry for making you wait."
Nita rose from her seat at once. She stepped down from the small pavilion and walked quickly toward the young woman.
Without hesitation, the two embraced.
"It’s all right," Nita said gently.
They exchanged apologies, shared a light laugh, and then returned to the pavilion together. The attendants prepared warm tea, and the atmosphere gradually relaxed, far removed from the tension that had weighed on Nita’s mind earlier.
As they sat facing each other, the woman in red smiled softly.
"I didn’t expect you to actually wait for me," she said with a quiet laugh.
"Of course," Nita replied without hesitation, her eyes shining.
"This is a golden opportunity."
A few days earlier, Fanny had given her an invitation card.
An invitation to the Sacred Auction, an event so exclusive that it was nearly impossible for ordinary people to access. The auction was hosted by the Emperor Sect.
The Emperor Sect.
A power that stood far above the level of Kings.
There was no need for further explanation, the items auctioned there were certainly not things that could be measured with ordinary coins. And those allowed to enter were, without exception, anything but ordinary.
The young woman now seated before Nita was no exception.
Fanny was not merely an honored guest. She was the direct daughter of the Holy Sect’s King, a being at the Emperor level.
In terms of pure status, even Nita fell far behind. After all, she was only the younger sister of the ruler of a small realm.
But friendship had never been built upon scales of status.
They had met in far simpler times, training within the void, without titles, without followers, without crowns. Those memories remained vivid in Nita’s mind. And the more she recalled the help Fanny had given her over the years, the more she felt that their meeting back then had been a rare stroke of fortune.
"Don’t worry," Fanny said casually, a confident smile on her face.
"My father has plenty of invitations."
There was no attempt to hide the pride in her voice and rightly so.
Just the mention of her father’s name was enough to make even high-level realm guardians or late-stage Kings tremble. Such was the weight carried by a name at the very pinnacle, an Emperor-level existence.
Fanny then glanced at Nita, her expression turning slightly serious.
"Nita, by the way..." she said softly.
"What exactly are you doing?"
She took a sip of her tea before continuing,
"You’ve been giving far too many resources to those lower-tier races."
A hint of disapproval colored her tone.
From Fanny’s perspective, as a queen, Nita could simply order them to work without offering such generous compensation. That alone should have been more than enough.
Nita merely smiled awkwardly.
She was already used to Fanny’s blunt nature. If there was something she disliked, she would say it outright, without restraint. Even her expression could never quite hide her thoughts.
"This is a different situation, Fanny," Nita replied calmly.
