Flash Marriage With Mr. Sheffield: Go Away, Cheap Man!-Chapter 135: I Really Want to See President Sheffield Make the Relationship Public and Slap Luna Tate’s Face in Front of Everyone
"You look beautiful today." Behind her, Silas Sheffield’s voice was low and magnetic, his lips gently brushing against Clara Sterling’s pink earlobe.
"Clara, are you ready? The stylist team is here..." Sophie Sheffield suddenly pushed open the door to the closet, her voice cutting off abruptly.
"Oh, brother, I didn’t know you were in here..."
Sophie knew she had come at the wrong time, and a mischievous smile appeared on her lips. "Well, you two carry on. I’ll go let the stylists know to wait a bit."
Clara quickly broke away from Silas’s embrace. "No need, let them come up."
Silas took a step back, creating a bit of distance between himself and Clara, his eyes returning to their usual clarity.
Sophie glanced up at Silas.
Seeing that he didn’t speak, she knew he had tacitly agreed, so she nodded, "Okay, I’ll call them up."
Clara: "Alright."
A few minutes later, Sophie brought the stylist team to the door of Clara’s bedroom upstairs.
"Knock knock knock—" Although the bedroom door was open, Sophie still gave it a knock.
She definitely didn’t want to go through that awkward scene again.
If looks could kill, her brother’s glare would have sliced her to pieces.
Clara’s bedroom was spacious, so it didn’t feel crowded even with the stylist team inside.
Silas said in a calm voice, "I’ll go to the study to take care of some work."
Clara: "Okay."
Silas left.
The stylist team divided the work among themselves, some opened boxes, others set up the lighting.
Clara sat in a chair, waiting for the stylist to arrange the makeup for her.
Sophie sat nearby, waiting for her.
"Isn’t this dress with so many diamonds a bit too eye-catching?" Clara asked.
Sophie glanced up at her and said, "It’s supposed to stand out. You’re the star today, so of course, you need to dress grandly. Don’t worry, this dress is perfect."
"Alright."
...
The stylist team finished the makeup and hair for Clara.
Clara stood up, "Sophie, I’m ready."
Sophie, who was playing on her phone, looked up, her gaze suddenly frozen, her eyes filled with amazement.
"So beautiful! Like a princess straight out of a comic book!"
Clara smiled with her lips pressed together, "It’s not that exaggerated."
"Truly stunning!" Sophie exclaimed, standing up to circle Clara.
"Really, wait a moment, I need to take a picture of you. You’re too gorgeous, darling!"
Sophie took out her phone and snapped a series of photos of Clara. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
While taking pictures, she couldn’t help but sigh, "Darling, your face is absolutely perfect, you totally rival those celebrities in showbiz. I bet my brother will be dazzled by you later."
Silas dazzled by her?
Clara didn’t quite believe it.
For someone as calm, composed, and aloof as Silas, "dazzled" didn’t quite fit.
She could feel his love for her, but it was far from being "dazzled."
Clara smiled, checked the time on her phone, "It’s about time. Let’s head out."
"Alright, I’ll go get my brother."
Just as she finished speaking, Silas walked in, casually talking on the phone.
The moment his eyes met Clara’s face, Silas stopped abruptly, his unfinished words hanging in the air.
Silas’s gaze stayed fixed on Clara’s face.
In those usually cool and indifferent eyes, something was swirling.
Like a howling storm, or surging waves.
Clara met Silas’s deep gaze.
His intense stare was like a spider’s web, wrapping her in countless threads.
Reading the emotions in his eyes, Clara couldn’t help but blush, and softly said, "I’m ready, let’s go."
Silas replied with a "Hmm," his gaze still fixed on her, though his feet didn’t move.
The phone was still connected, and Zachary Lynch’s voice came through, "President Sheffield?"
Silas snapped back to reality, "Let’s stop here for now."
He then ended the call.
Observing all this, Sophie covered her mouth, giggling secretly.
What had she just said?
That her brother would be dazzled seeing Clara.
...
At a five-star hotel owned by the Sheffield Group.
The banquet hall was festively decorated.
A stage had been set up.
The background wall of the stage displayed the words "Fifth Anniversary Celebration of The Veridian Branch of Sheffield Group" in large letters, surrounded by flowers and ribbons.
Thea Tate arrived at the scene early.
She was glamorously dressed today in a burgundy strapless gown, with voluminous curls and fiery red lips, exuding charm with every move.
This anniversary celebration was not only attended by the employees of The Veridian Branch and executives from the Crestwood headquarters.
Some presidents of companies that collaborated with the Sheffield Group would also be in attendance.
Thea stood at the entrance of the banquet hall, warmly greeting the presidents of the cooperating parties as if she were the hostess.
Although she was just the deputy general manager of the branch, essentially a well-paid employee, and it wasn’t her place to greet guests at the anniversary celebration.
But she relied on her "childhood sweetheart" relationship with Silas and the support of the Sheffield Family matriarch, standing at the entrance with the air of a hostess, and no one dared to say anything.
After all, no one knew that Silas was already married and that Sheffield Group already had a lady of the house.
The Tate Group, after all, was the second-ranked wealthy family in Crestwood.
The presidents of the cooperating companies, considering Thea was the daughter of the Tate Family, would naturally give her face and not gossip.
Some presidents even jokingly asked her if she and Silas were about to tie the knot.
Thea responded ambiguously, not correcting their misconception that she and Silas were in a relationship.
Lisa Holloway and Anabelle Spencer had arrived at the hotel banquet hall early.
They were aware of the inside story of Silas and Clara’s marriage.
Seeing Thea acting as if she were the hostess, Lisa rolled her eyes and complained to Anabelle, "So shameless."
Anabelle concurred, "Almost tying the knot, fooling everyone else, just don’t end up fooling herself."
Lisa sighed, "Ugh, I can’t stand it. I really want to expose her."
Anabelle sipped her champagne and advised, "Clara said we should keep it a secret for her. Let’s just hold back for now. Fake is ultimately fake, no matter how well she acts, it won’t become real."
Lisa: "Do you think if I go over there and say something sharp, I’ll get fired?"
Anabelle: "No, you probably won’t get fired, especially with your connection to Clara. But you’ll definitely face trouble from her in the future."
Lisa let out a long sigh, "Sigh... if only Clara were here. I really want to see President Sheffield publicly announce his relationship and slap Thea’s face."
