Nora, furious, kicked Jasper in the upper thigh, just missing a critical area. π˜§π“‡β„―π‘’π“Œπ‘’π‘π“ƒπ˜°π˜·π˜¦π˜.𝒸ℴ𝓂

"Your own people, you don’t keep an eye on them, and you come looking for trouble with me? Utterly ridiculous!"

The man lowered his gaze upon her, absorbing every subtle change, contemplating whether this matter had anything to do with her.

Their eyes locked, and Nora felt both angry and amused, "Peach Bell disappeared for no reason, and instead of reporting to the police, you corner me. Has your brain rusted?"

Jasper continued to stare at her; his eyes never leaving her face from the beginning to the end.

After a moment, his tightly pursed thin lips showed signs of relaxing, "The Jacobs Family said Peach Bell didn’t return home last night and hasn’t been reachable since... Who else would she offend besides you?"

"So, that’s how you see me, huh." Nora intentionally elongated her tone, sounding full of implication.

Then, she feigned innocence, "Back when you were the big shot, you offended quite a few people. During the two years with you, I was kidnapped so many times that I couldn’t count on both hands. Instead of blaming others, why not look at yourself first?"

Jasper looked at her indifferent attitude with extreme frustration.

He couldn’t distinguish whether his frustration was due to Peach Bell’s disappearance or Nora’s words of "couldn’t count on both hands." In the end, he could only swallow hard a few times.

Just when Nora thought this farce might be over, Jasper persisted in asking: "Do you really know nothing about this?"

The words "I don’t know" were almost out of her mouth but were swallowed back; then, her eyes curved into a smile, "Even if I did know, I have no reason to tell you, do I?"

The smile didn’t reach her eyes, mixed with a hint of sarcasm.

"Nora!"

Jasper practically ground out her name through clenched teeth, trying to pry some useful clues from her mouth.

This time, Nora didn’t go soft, replying coldly, "Stop bothering me. Instead of wasting time on me, better report to the police. If you’re any later, she might be cut up into pieces."

She had felt deeply that going soft cost her dearlyβ€”she forever lost the man she loved most.

After some entanglement, Jasper seemed to realize she truly had no part in this matter, ultimately choosing to leave.

"Bangβ€”"

He slammed the door as if using it as a punching bag; the sound was deafening.

Leaving the villa, Jasper’s aura was still surrounded by a fierce atmosphere.

Since he woke up, he had been interacting with Nora for nearly a month. Though he never delved deeply into understanding her, he knew she was someone bold and straightforward, and any occasional threats were mere words spat out when provoked.

Since she didn’t directly admit, it indicated that, probably, the issue wasn’t directly related to her.

Jasper still hadn’t completely sorted out the network connections in Stanton City.

Although he had reassumed the position of chairman, most of the company’s affairs were handled by Raina Sinclair, with Louis Hayes assisting.

Everyone hoped he would regain his memory, but he was indifferent.

Carrying a burden of frustration, Jasper arrived at the company; anyone who opened their eyes could see that his mood was utterly sour today.
