Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk-Chapter 766: Peach Bell Has Been Kidnapped
Nora Northwood’s indifference and aloofness couldn’t be more obvious.
At first, she would ask a few questions about Jasper Sinclair’s health. Now, she wouldn’t even give him a proper look, let alone show concern.
Over the past half month, their exchanges have been few and far between. Initially, Jasper was unfazed, but as time went on, he grew increasingly uneasy.
Several times, he wanted to talk to Nora, but didn’t know where to start. After all, wasn’t this what he wanted?
When Nora finished pouring the water, she found Jasper leaning halfway against the dining table, staring at her without blinking.
"Since you don’t want to communicate with me, why don’t I change places from tomorrow on, so I won’t be an eyesore to you?"
Nora seemed deep in thought, which sparked an unexplainable fury in Jasper’s heart.
He thought she would refuse quickly. What was she thinking?
Nora just replied, "That’s too inappropriate."
"In what way inappropriate?"
Jasper raised an eyebrow, waiting for her to continue.
Nora said seriously, "The property deed has your name on it. If anyone has to leave, it should be me."
Jasper’s inner thoughts: Better left unsaid.
Nora poured another glass of water, ready to return to her room. Before she could walk a meter, her name was called from behind.
She stopped in her tracks, "Is there anything else?"
"No, just rest early."
Bedroom.
Nora originally planned to sleep right away, but she suddenly had a burst of inspiration. She wanted to develop a new fragrance with the theme "Forgetfulness."
Thus, she dashed to the lab on a whim, spending several hours inside until she couldn’t resist the sleepiness and returned to her room at one in the morning.
...
The series of side effects from staying up late included not getting enough sleep and uncontrollable morning rage.
As soon as Nora lifted the quilt, the bedroom door was roughly opened from the outside.
The doorknob slammed against the wall with a thud, seemingly shaking a layer of paint off the room.
Nora, not fully awake, was startled, her heart skipping a beat. She thought a terrorist attack had reached Crimson Hill Villa.
After a few breaths, she saw Jasper emerging from the corner of the wall.
The man carried a full load of hostility, his dark eyes like a cage covering the sky, locking Nora within his pupils, as he strode towards her. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
The living room wasn’t big, and within ten steps, he reached the bedside.
Nora felt a chill and instinctively wanted to retreat, but found there was nowhere to go, forcing her to calmly ask, "What do you want to do?"
During her question, her slender wrist was already clamped by Jasper, painfully.
"Nora." Jasper called her name, merely two words, yet he was struggling to suppress something, "I’ve told you many times, I don’t like being threatened. Now that things are out in the open, don’t make it ugly."
Threatened?
Ugly?
Misplaced topics, they don’t match at all!
"It’s morning; if you want to go crazy, find someone else to bother, don’t bother me!"
Nora tried hard to free her wrist, struggling several times to no avail.
"I’m seriously reasoning with you, tell your people to release Peach Bell. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee I won’t treat you the same way."
Peach Bell was kidnapped?
Nora’s mind was forming thoughts, but what did this have to do with her? How could he think she was behind it!
