Chapter 404: Chapter 403: Alan Morgan is not an ordinary person

Nia Mitchell scratched her head, sighing deeply.

"The previous time, Shirley Grant came and gave me a box, saying that if Alan Morgan was still looking for her during the year following an initial three-month period, I should give her the box."

Maxwell Peary frowned, surprised that Shirley Grant had even drawn little Rabina into all this.

"He has already resigned and left."

Although he still kept in touch, publicly he had no connections with MC Group.

"Yeah, I don’t even know if he’s still looking for Shirley Grant or not, and I don’t know what to do with the box."

Nia suddenly felt frustrated. This is just creating unnecessary trouble for myself.

"Just hold on to it. Alan might return soon."

These words weren’t meant to reassure Nia, as he himself wasn’t certain.

Alan going back to the Morgan Family had its pros and cons for him. Alan might start liking it there and decide not to return.

And with the Morgan Family’s faction, it would only be a matter of time before they found Shirley Grant.

As for the box, it probably wasn’t very important.

"Alright, I suppose that’s all I can do."

Nia plopped down on the Living Room sofa, stretched her arms, then picked up the remote and turned on the TV.

"Alan’s father is the owner of the Morgan Corporation. Doesn’t that make Alan the heir to the Corporation?"

Today, Maxwell Peary had introduced her to Mr. Morgan. The Morgan Corporation might not be as successful as MC Group, but it wasn’t far behind.

So why was Alan working as the Special Assistant to the CEO of MC Group?

"Indeed, he is the heir, but there are many secrets within wealthy families. He had voluntarily taken his name off the family register."

What?

Nia was shocked. He voluntarily had his name removed from the family register?

Something must have happened back then, Nia mused. But then again, it’s better if I don’t pry into these matters.

"With his capabilities, if he truly wants to find Shirley Grant, he absolutely will. We shouldn’t worry about it."

Nia grinned, picking a cherry from the fruit plate and popping it into her mouth.

Maxwell Peary raised an eyebrow, loosened his tie, stretched a little, and elegantly undid his cufflinks.

"You’re the only one worried about this. I have no interest in worrying about such things."

He already had enough bothersome matters to deal with and was incredibly busy.

He had no spare time to concern himself with other people’s lifelong events.

Nia choked, pouted, and turned to watch TV, not sparing Maxwell a glance.

When the butler entered the Living Room again, this was the scene he walked in on.

"Young Master, Young Mistress, dinner is ready."

Frederick Goldsmith broke the silence in the Living Room. Nia got up, glanced at the CEO whom she had mentally labeled as cold, and then, PITTER-PATTER, ran up to the second floor.

Umm...

Maxwell Peary rubbed his temples.

"I will have my dinner later."

Leaving these words behind, he also headed upstairs.

In the Main Bedroom, Nia was sitting cross-legged on the bed, engrossed in her phone. Maxwell Peary, seeing her sitting on the bed with such a lack of decorum, frowned in displeasure.

"What are you doing?" he asked, his voice tinged with a hint of concern.

Nia looked up at him.

"What exactly did you say to Charles Northwood?"

She had gone through the records but couldn’t find any trace. He must have deleted them.

She also felt it wasn’t appropriate to ask Charles Northwood directly, and he hadn’t called her back.

Maxwell Peary arched an eyebrow. With that little brain of hers, she wouldn’t be able to guess it even if she had a lifetime. "Guess," he said.

"I’ll ask him myself someday."

Getting information out of Maxwell is too difficult.

But when she later asked Charles Northwood, she discovered he was even more tight-lipped than the CEO, unwilling to reveal a single word.
