Finding my Parents in Another World-Chapter 50: (Raorka) Expect the Unexpected
The Die of Reknown does the opposite of what you expect it to do
The words of Artemis, spoken so long ago it now seemed, came back to Raorka as he watched the disintegrated remains of the cave. As he stood up though, he noticed the second, much more vital effect the Die had had.
The Threads of Lakil were gone.
Indeed, the Die had disintegrated not just the cage, but also the threads binding magik throughout the entire castle. The fortress that Rokar had built up so carefully, had revelled in, was now completely gone.
He had expected the Die of Reknown to do nothing.
It had done everything.
Awestruck Raorka picked up the Die. It felt somewhat heavier than before, as if Raorka was just now realizing the immense potential of this small object. Now he realized why Artemis had called the Wizard of Reknown a genius. A man capable of enfusing such strong magik in a Die surely was worthy of being called a genius.
Raorka raised his arms and threw the Die, this time at the door, expecting another explosion. The Die again sailed through the air, but this time it just plopped harmlessly against the door and fell down on the floor.
The Die of Reknown does the opposite of what you expect it to do.
"Ah so that’s why Artemis called it useless." Raorka muttered picking up the Die, feeling quite a bit frustrated.
The power of the Die was awesome yes, but there was no reasonable way to take advantage of it. If people expected the Die to display explosive power, then it would do the opposite and do nothing. Grumbling, Raorka put the Die back in his pocket. Atleast it had helped him escape the cage.
And now he had a score to settle with a monster.

The stench of stale water woke Lucerne up. She looked around, confused at the darkness and dampness around her. As her eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness, she realized she was in a prison cell.
Immediately alert, she got up instantly, trying to remember what had happened.
She was spouting bullshit details about the Witch in order to buy time. Raorka had left, ostensibly to use the bathroom, but in reality to find the place where the Mayor sleeps in order to aid their breakthrough at night. And then.....
Lucerne didn’t remember exactly. She remembered that one moment she was talking, and the next everything became dark. She rubbed the back of her neck, there was a pain there when she remembered the incident.
Is the Mayor onto us?
Lucerne grew frantic. Of course that was the only explanation! The Mayor had seen through their deception, and thus had captured her. But then where was Raorka?
Just as she started trying to suppress the worst thoughts regarding Raorka’s fate, the large door beyond her prison cell creaked open and in stepped the Mayor himself.
"Well well well, look who’s awake." Rokar said with a huge smile. He was completely naked still, with another naked woman slung across his back like a sack of rice. He strode forward casually, opened the door and almost threw the woman on his back inside. Lucerne almost jumped back in shock when she realized it was her friend Fiona.
The once defiant, proud and brave girl had been reduced to a dead-eyed, expressionless shadow of her former self, her spirit completely smothered by the monster standing on the other side of the jail cell.
"What have you done with her?" Lucerne said softly, the anger in her voice clear and evident.
Rokar smiled widely and thrusted his pelvis in an obscene gesture.
"The same I am going to do to you tonight Lucerne darling. And the same I did to your dear old mother several years ago. How is good old Lumina anyway?"
"You are a monster." She spat towards her. Rokar raised his eyebrows in mock surprise.
"You know, you are the second one to tell me that today."
"What have you done with Raorka?"
Rokar smiled again. "Ah to be young. So concerned about others, disregarding your own dire situation. No need to worry, I haven’t killed him yet. I plan to break his spirit first you see. I will rape you first, and then I will rape his mother in front of him, and then, only then will I drive a stake through his eyes."
Lucerne stayed silent. She called on all the magik she had in her body, aiming to annihilate the Mayor in front of her in a single blazing volley. Rokar kept looking at her in a bemused stare.
"Cannot start your engines?" He asked, his lips curled in a smile.
Lucerne grunted in response. She was calling on every fiber, every bone of her body but all refused to answer. It was as if she had been smothered in wool, she felt the magik whirl about uselessly within her but she wasn’t able to use it at all.
"The Threads of Lakil...." she muttered, realization dawning upon her as she looked at the Mayor with redoubled horror and disgust.
"Ding ding ding." Rokar said, leaning his fat body on the jail cell.
"Using the Threads is punishable by death, the worst crime a magik user can ever commit!"
"Do you really think I am afraid of commiting crimes? I??! Why don’t you ask your friend over there how afraid I really am of commiting a crime?" Rokar’s tone was haughty.
"If the Crown knows about you using the Threads..."
"If. If. The Crown doesn’t give two shits about a small little town on the other side of the Capital. Unless it is named Odania because God knows the Queen herself would fuck Fermi Ja if she could. Goddamn fucking leeches of the Royalty."
Rokar paused his outburst and took a deep breathe, as if to calm himself down. Then he looked back at Lucerne and smiled.
"Don’t worry darling, you’ll experience how your mother felt soon enough. Just talk to your old friend before that." Saying this Rokar turned back and was about to walk back when it happened.
The entire mansion shook.
Rokar stopped, his eyes wide in disbelief.
"What the.." He whispered, and then looked back at Lucerne to see if she had realized that the Threads of Lakil had been suddenly, inexplicably, impossibly destroyed.
Unfortunately for the Mayor, she had.
It was as if a dam had been keeping her magik powers in check, and that dam had burst. All the magik Lucerne was gathering in her veins, in her muscles, in her very being burst through.
"Inito. [[Blazing Sun]]." Lucerne shouted out as the magik courses through her. A steel armor materialized around her, with a sturdy helmet. A single feather stuck out of the back of the helmet, symbolizing the eternal phoenix. And her arms and feet burst into flames. The fire coursed around her, with uncontrolled intensity at first, but one which gradually reduced once Lucerne heard the faint moans of pain from Fiona. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"You. Will. Pay." She said in a fiery tone as she stepped forward, each step sending a shockwave through the prison cell.
Rokar was dumbfounded at first, but slowly realization dawned on him, and his face took on a grim expression.
"Ah well, I’ll need to check up on your boyfriend later it seems. For now I do like my women struggling a bit first."
He extended his arms in a T shape and then whispered, "Inito. [[More Human]]." The Mayor’s already fat body expanded. The fat concentrated into muscle, and soon the Mayor stood over three feet tall, his arms and legs much larger than that of a normal human. There was no armor on his body, he stayed naked, which made the process of his fat converting to muscle clearly visible to Lucerne.
Controlling the bile rising in her throat, Lucerne raised her flaming arm and with a roar ran towards the smiling Rokar.

The inner section of the mansion was even more of a maze than Raorka had initially realized. He stormed through room after room, trying to determine where the Mayor and the Demon had gone, feeling his rage boiling inside. He needed to fight Rokar, needed to destroy him, needed to see him beg for mercy for what he had said about his mother, and for what he had done to the girls he kidnapped.
Roaring with frustration at the tenth empty room, Raorka almost broken the door as he left. His pent up magik was almost bursting out, wanting to be let loose. He half wondered whether he should let loose, destroy the entire palace, bring it all crumbling down. But again he had to control himself. The people he wanted to kill were the Demon and Rokar. He had to find them first.
As it happened they found him first.
Or rather she did.
It happened so quickly that Raorka barely had time to react. Inexplicably he felt a tingle on the nape of his neck, a feeling of deja-vu and almost instinctively he ducked down, right as a muscles fist passed over where his head was. With a roar, Raorka turned back and kicked at the assailant, who jumped back gracefully and stood there smiling at him.
"Well then darling, how did you escape?" The Demon of Lust asked, her expression seductive but the coldness of death in her eyes.
Without responding, Raorka gathered his magik reserves. He had not learned this, nor had he ever tested it, but he knew. Instinctively he knew. He could release his Inito now. It was begging to be released. The voice, the power inside him was whispering it. He knew its name.
"Inito. [[Beast of the Land]]."
