Favorite of the Beast-world: I Got Rich Through Farming-Chapter 144 - 116: Part 2
"Gu Yin is making me some clothes, so I didn’t have him come with me."
An Jin looked at the distant blue sky and white clouds, a smile touching her small face. "It’s been raining for almost a month, and staying home was getting boring. It’s nice to take advantage of these two clear days to get some fresh air..."
"It’s almost noon. I’ll take you back for lunch."
"Okay."
An Jin patted her flat little stomach. She really was getting a little hungry. She turned to look at the other Beastmen. "Everyone should go back and eat, too. Building the city wall isn’t a rush. You need to eat your fill before you have the strength to work."
The Beastmen nodded, touched by her words.
"My hands are full, so I can’t carry you in my arms. Hop on, I’ll carry you on my shoulders." Seeing her rubbing her sore knees, Ling Hong bent over, a hint of gentleness in his jade-green eyes.
An Jin understood. She clambered up the pile of firewood onto his shoulders. As she felt his swift, steady pace beneath her, she couldn’t help but ask, "Aren’t you tired? If you are, just let me know. I can get down and walk for a bit."
"Not tired."
Ling Hong gave her a short, two-word reply.
She could tell from his even breathing that he wasn’t struggling. In fact, she thought she detected a hint of secret delight. After she casually mumbled about being hungry, Ling Hong’s steady pace quickened once more.
Before long, they saw the smoke from cooking fires rising in the distance, and soon the two of them were back in their house.
The sun had been strong the past few days. Ling Hong first spread the firewood on the roof to dry, then vaulted off the house and joined An Jin in busily starting the stove to cook.
The air was soon filled with the delicious aroma of cooking rice and roasting meat.
Gu Yin had mostly finished making An Jin’s undergarments, with only a few minor adjustments left to do that evening.
The aroma of the food drew him out of his room. He leisurely slithered out and, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, pulled his female into his arms to eat with him.
Xi hadn’t returned. He had probably gone off to play in the river by himself.
’A big fish like him won’t starve,’ An Jin thought. ’He probably ate his fill a long time ago.’ So she didn’t worry about him.
When afternoon came, Ling Hong and Gu Yin both led teams out to hunt.
Ling Hong took the group of Wolf Beasts who had always been loyal to him.
As for the group of Wandering Beasts the tribe had recently recruited, they were wild and difficult to manage. Only a High-Rank Wandering Beast like Gu Yin could keep them in line.
Gu Yin was lazy and undisciplined by nature. Only food and his female could pique his interest; he couldn’t be bothered with tribal affairs.
However, he couldn’t refuse the plea of his beloved female. So, he had to give up his time clinging to An Jin to lead the group of Wandering Beasts on a hunt.
Finding herself alone and a little bored at home, An Jin picked up a basket of dried flowers, dried fruit, and sugar cubes and went to find her friend, Gou Ni.
She planned for the two of them to make some refreshing fruit and flower tea.
Gou Ni’s wooden house was very close, just a short walk away.
A massive banyan tree, so large it would take several people to wrap their arms around it, grew in the yard. Small, yellowish-green fruits dotted its lush foliage.
"SCREECH~"
The Black Eagle perched in the tree let out a short cry.
"Ah Jin, you’re here! I was just thinking I’d come find you after I finished tidying up!" Gou Ni exclaimed in pleasant surprise as she popped out of the house.
She happily ran up to An Jin, helped her with the basket, and set it down beside the stone table in the yard.
A large, powerful, and sleek tiger trotted up to the gate. It carried a dead great-horned bull on its back and held a cluster of translucent, grape-like fruits in its mouth.
The big orange tiger was Gou Ni’s other mate—Hu Che.
He offered the fruit to Gou Ni, then affectionately rubbed against her legs. "COO! COO!" From the tree, the Black Eagle let out two displeased calls at the tiger.
...
The two young females chatted and laughed as they sat in the yard, sorting the dried flowers and fruit. They added sugar cubes, wrapped the mixtures in large leaves, and finally sealed the packets with strips of animal hide.
One after another, packets of fruit and flower tea were created by their two pairs of nimble hands.
The tea just needed to be steeped in hot water for a while to become a sweet, thirst-quenching drink suitable for everyone—young and old, male and female alike.
The Black Eagle remained high up in the banyan tree, which stood nearly ten meters tall. He was as silent as a stone, vigilantly watching their surroundings. At the slightest sign of movement, he would cry out to alert Gou Ni.
The tiger’s form stretched, transforming into a strong, handsome man with orange hair.
As the sky began to darken, Hu Che took the great-horned bull he had caught earlier down to the river to clean it. Then he carried it to the kitchen to prepare dinner for his mate.
’I didn’t expect Gou Ni’s family of three to get along so harmoniously,’ An Jin thought.
An Jin couldn’t help but stare a little longer.
It had been over a year since she’d come to the Beast World. Although she understood that females were rare, this system of one female having multiple mates still left her with questions. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
’Can one female really manage relationships with several males at the same time?’
