Chapter 643: Chapter 310: Birth, Give Me Everything You’ve Got (Supplement)

...

...

Inside the dungeon of Eagle Castle.

The torchlight illuminated the darkness of the corridor.

Luo De followed Lurice’s footsteps and entered the innermost cell.

This place was entirely different from a traditional dungeon, with no bloodstains or chains, nor the stench of decay, but rather a faint scent of flowers.

It looked more like a simple bedroom.

A wooden cabinet was placed in the corner, next to a simple desk.

The most conspicuous piece was a solid wood bed frame, covered with a thick wool blanket.

On the bed lay a young girl in a black robe, her hands quietly resting at her sides, her chest rising and falling slightly with her breath.

She was obviously in a peaceful sleep.

Lurice opened the door with a key and whispered, "She’s the girl my brother sent back, Harun’s eldest daughter, Zhuo Ya Hawk."

Luo De nodded slightly, his gaze sweeping over the girl’s face, finally resting on the delicate bracelet on her wrist.

The bracelet was silvery-white, with complex runes engraved on its surface.

In the dim light, Luo De could see the faint glow on it, rising and falling with Zhuo Ya’s breaths.

"Is this the magic item?"

Luo De turned his head to look at Lurice next to him.

Lurice nodded.

"Yes, sir."

"This seems to be a Sleeping Bracelet."

She explained softly, "According to the people who escorted Zhuo Ya, once this is put on, it will induce sleep and prevent awakening."

"However, there’s a flaw: it can only take effect if the wearer puts it on voluntarily."

"How to remove it?"

Luo De asked, "Just take it off directly?"

"Yes."

Lurice nodded slightly.

Luo De thought for a moment, then grasped Zhuo Ya’s wrist, carefully removing the bracelet.

As the bracelet left Lurice’s wrist, its glow gradually faded, and the magic fluctuation ceased.

Luo De silently put the bracelet away. On the bed, Zhuo Ya’s eyelashes fluttered; she turned over and slowly opened her eyes.

Upon seeing everything in front of her, her body jerked upright,

"Who are you?"

Zhuo Ya looked warily at Luo De and Lurice by the bed, full of vigilance as she retreated to the corner.

Zhuo Ya fully awakened, memories flooded back into her mind, and she asked loudly,

"Where is my father? Why did you capture me?"

After throwing out three questions in a row, Zhuo Ya raised her hand toward Luo De and Lurice, magic power beginning to surge from her body.

"Calm down, it was Baron Zane who captured you, not me."

Luo De reminded her loudly, "I am the Lord of Black Pine Ridge, Luo De Tulip. I saved you and woke you from your slumber."

"I know you have been asleep, unaware of what happened, and may not believe what I say..."

"No, I believe you."

Zhuo Ya lowered her hand.

"Hmm?"

Luo De was a bit surprised, staring at Zhuo Ya in confusion.

Zhuo Ya paused, then explained, "Sister Linda has a good relationship with me. She often mentioned you."

"She said that although you can be stern at times, you greatly appreciate the abilities of spellcasters and show respect."

"... Linda speaks quite close to reality."

Luo De did not dwell on Linda’s evaluation of him, calmly saying,

"Since that’s the case, there’s no need for me to elaborate further."

"I don’t know what happened to you before, but those who captured you here are Zane’s subordinates."

Luo De succinctly described the sequence of events, "I conquered the Hawk Clan and found out you’re here."

"It just so happened that I have a good relationship with the Dawn Society and have collaborated twice with your father, so I took the opportunity to rescue you."

"Thank you very much!"

Zhuo Ya bowed respectfully, "I only remember that a friend of my father gave me a bracelet to wear, and then I fell into a deep sleep."

Zhuo Ya briefly described her identity and experience.

It turns out someone claimed to be a close confidant of Baron Harun, knew many intricate details, and revealed the Hawk Clan’s insignia.

And claimed that Baron Harun had prepared a mysterious gift for Zhuo Ya - the Sleeping Bracelet.

Zhuo Ya tried it on and fell asleep.

After listening to Zhuo Ya’s story, Luo De was speechless.

Zane used tricks one might use on children in kindergarten, and to think Zhuo Ya actually believed it.

The only thing that could easily sway her was the Hawk Clan’s identity and the understanding of Baron Harun.

Zhuo Ya is a bit too naive.

However, recalling that Zhuo Ya’s self-introduction was largely about research in undead magic and arrays, Luo De felt that a bit of naivety was not a bad thing.

"You just said you conquered the Hawk Clan, does that mean the Empire war is over?"

Zhuo Ya was full of surprise, her memory clearly still stuck in the period of resisting the Western Alliance, where the Empire had forbidden lords from attacking each other.

"The Empire war has ended, but the Emperor has passed away, and the Empire has plunged into new turmoil."

Luo De briefly recounted everything that had happened in the Empire recently, especially the Emperor’s death, the lifting of the Empire’s interdictions, and the conflicts among those with inheritance rights.

After hearing all this, Zhuo Ya fell silent, "If I hadn’t been captured, perhaps I could have reminded them that sacrificing one’s life force through undead magic could gain power."

"But there’s nothing to regret, as it can serve as a warning to the next Emperor: do not underestimate spellcasters and knowledge."

Zhuo Ya’s attitude towards the Emperor did not surprise Luo De.

Agenar did not achieve anything particularly memorable, and coupled with the fact that members of the Dawn Society pursued truth and magic, the Emperor’s death for them felt similar to any ordinary person’s passing.
