Farming with Entries: From Lord to Emperor-Chapter 576 - 289: Territory Development
...
...
Three days later.
The afternoon sunlight cast a golden glow over the entire Frost Leaf Town.
Thunder and Frost flapped their wings as they flew over the town, clearly revealing the clean red brick roads and the busy crowds along the streets.
The people of Frost Leaf Town were long accustomed to the two dragons in the territory and were not surprised.
They simply paused their work and looked up to salute Luo De, the Lord of the town.
The gains from this exploration were substantial and exceeded Luo De’s initial expectations.
This time, Luo De gained considerably, with six large and small iron veins, three silver-lead mines, and two copper mines.
This is in addition to the mineral veins already discovered in various places.
If all the mineral resources were combined and calculated, the underground wealth of the Northern Wasteland could be described as extraordinarily rich.
However, most of these mineral veins were hidden deep within the majestic mountains.
If not for the ability of the glossary entries, plus the aerial search by the two giant dragons, Frost and Thunder, it would have been impossible to discover these hidden treasures.
Developing these mineral veins also presented some challenges.
Mining itself was not a problem and could be solved with enough manpower and tools.
But transporting them out required the help of rocky ridges—at the very least, a road that could accommodate a carriage had to be built.
Less than half a day after returning to Frost Leaf Town, Durant, Lawrence, Hammer, and several other supervisors arrived one after another to report on various matters.
Luo De didn’t rest and called them all into the Lord’s hall.
Everyone bowed to Luo De at the same time, expressing their welcome and respect for the Lord’s return.
Luo De gestured for them to sit around the long table, and the Fox Girl poured hot fragrant tea for everyone.
The aroma of tea spread throughout the room, adding a hint of noble lifestyle’s pleasant atmosphere to the hall.
As the territory continued to develop and expand, Luo De was consciously improving the standard of living for himself and his subordinates.
Even though he wasn’t particularly concerned with these material indulgences, he had to consider the needs and feelings of those who followed him.
After all, everyone chose to follow Luo De to attain a better life and a brighter future.
"Baron, how was your vacation this time?"
Durant was the first to speak, "You seem to be in great spirits."
"More relaxed and pleasant than ever."
Luo De smiled contentedly,
"However, if I could travel with a chef and servants next time, it might be even more comfortable."
"It seems I’ve been corrupted by the luxury of nobility." Luo De sighed.
"You are a noble, you should enjoy this."
Durant seriously said, "It’s just that your previous lifestyle was too plain."
"I’ll try to correct this habit in the future."
Luo De joked, then switched to the main topic,
"Alright, let’s hear about the matters you have to report."
Luo De looked at Tyr and Hammer.
Hammer immediately stood up to report on the recent work at the Blacksmith Shop.
The forging of armor and weapons at the Blacksmith Shop was directly handled by Durant.
Luo De mostly just got a general understanding and didn’t ask for too many details.
Hammer also knew what Luo De wanted to hear, so after reporting the regular tasks, he quickly added,
"Your alchemy pot has been completed, and the stirring rod has been forged."
Hammer cautiously said, "Master Senda said he would personally explain the details to you, but he currently doesn’t have the time..."
Luo De understood Hammer’s situation,
"No problem, let him come when he has the time."
Hammer could only manage ordinary blacksmiths; he couldn’t handle a Forging Master with extraordinary abilities.
Hammer nodded, bowed, and sat down again.
Tyr immediately stood up to report on the livestock farm information.
The expansion and slaughter at the farm were managed by Tyr and Lawrence, and the rest was included in the report.
Luo De was more concerned about magical beasts.
"The Beast Taming Arena for magical beasts has been completed, according to your instructions, in the Frost Wolf Forest."
Tyr reported, "It’s currently managed by Beast Tamer Celia, who was formerly a Hunter and has some combat experience."
"On the other side, Lord Wolfhoof is assisting, and I check there weekly."
"Do you have any other arrangements?"
"No."
Luo De instructed, "Keep things as they are now."
"How many magical beasts are there?"
"Excluding the Mutated Demon Rabbits, there are ninety-six magical beasts in total." Tyr replied.
The Mutated Demon Rabbits were excluded because they couldn’t be trained into a military force.
Luo De was surprised to hear this number, "That many?"
"We previously discovered a herd of mutated wild cattle, and later found a group of mutated goats in the valley."
Tyr reported, "Including the ones you brought back, there are ninety-six in total."
"Hmm."
Luo De nodded, then asked, "Can those cattle and goats be tamed?"
By this, Luo De meant making the mutated cattle and goats understand commands.
"Well..."
Tyr was a bit embarrassed, "Celia and the others are doing their best."
"Alright, if it doesn’t work out, leave it be."
The lowest level of mutated magical beasts still had too low intelligence, and wasting too much effort wasn’t worthwhile.
The key issue was that it might ultimately fail, making the sunk cost too high.
"Got it, my Lord."
Tyr gave a nod of relief and responded,
"I’ll instruct Celia and the others as per your orders, to focus their efforts on other magical beasts."
"Oh, by the way, my Lord."
Tyr’s face once again showed a smile, "The Beeman Bamunk’s apiary has been established,"
