Chapter 37: 034. "Bloody" Fishing Experience.

Calm ocean waves, soothing night skies and skin-piercing sea breezes....

The perfect time to catch fish of course...

A fishing boat moved slowly as Nabil’s clones began to work.

They cast their nets into the sea, waited for a while, and then pulled up the nets that had been cast.

The net was pulled and a few fish were caught.

The fish were immediately put into a large plastic basin which would later be transferred into a Styrofoam box that had been filled with several chunks of ice cubes.

The activity is quite simple and quite boring to watch, especially for Zaskia who is now cold even with the jacket she is wearing.

"How long will we be here?" asked Zaskia, who was starting to shiver.

"At least until all the boxes are filled," said Nabil, pointing to several large Styrofoam boxes that were intended to hold the fish.

"We’ve been here for almost 2 hours, I’m going to get a fever at this rate."

A humming song sounded and made everyone alert.

Nabil’s clones scanned the surroundings and noticed unusual movement near the surface of the sea.

Sharks? Tuna?

They were quite large and there were several of them. It was hard to tell for sure as they only saw black silhouettes.

The creature swam around the boat. There were at least more than 10 of them.

The hum of the song grew louder and Nabil swallowed his saliva.

Zaskia took out a plastic bag that usually used in hospitals. A plastic bag filled with blood.

The silhouettes of the creatures suddenly swam close to the boat, and swam under it.

Where did they go?

One of Nabil’s clones approached the water surface and a pair of hands instantly pulled the clone into the cold sea.

Everyone panicked and the boat suddenly rocked.

The clones rushed to where Zaskia was and one of the clones at the front of the boat suddenly stumbled.

As he stood up, the creature jumped out of the sea and dragged the clone into the sea.

Everything happened so fast and the appearance of the creature was quite faint.

It wasn’t a fish at all.

From the waist down it was a long scaly tail while from the waist up it was a human body, or more specifically...

A woman...

"It’s a mermaid!" shouted Nabil who looked panicked.

The boat swayed more and more and some hands gripped the side of the boat. Some mermaids even tried to crawl onto the boat.

While people say that mermaids are beautiful, that’s not what the passengers saw.

Pale white skin with completely black eyeballs. Long hair loose from the seawater and a row of fangs in a gaping mouth.

"System activated!" shouted Zaskia who squeezed the plastic bag containing the blood.

The bag suddenly exploded and the pool of blood instantly formed blood gauntlet on both of her hands.

Zaskia moved her hands and pointed her fingers at the mermaids and the tips of the blood gauntlet suddenly flew up and pierced through the mermaids.

Head, chest and stomach....

The blood bullets knocked the mermaids down in an instant, but there was one mermaid that managed to climb onto the boat.

It jumped at Zaskia with its mouth open and ready to chew on her face.

But Zaskia controlled the shape of the blood gauntlet into a thin but big and sharp blood scythe.

Zaskia slashed at the mermaid and managed to split the mermaid open.

Fresh red blood splashed in all directions and Zaskia instantly controlled all the blood flowing out of the mermaid and made it into her weapon.

The boat was no longer rocking but the woman could still feel that it wasn’t over yet.

Zaskia went straight up to the roof and looked around.

There were still some mermaid silhouettes swimming around the boat.

Wasting no time, Zaskia created huge spikes made of blood.

She aimed the spikes at the mermaids and the spikes shot out with great speed and managed to pierce the mermaids before the blood she controlled was osmosed by the sea water.

The bodies of the mermaids floated and Zaskia no longer saw any movement below the surface of the sea.

The woman took a deep breath and exhaled.

After she was sure everything was safe, she climbed down from the roof of the boat and saw Nabil and his clones who were looking at the mermaid corpses that were split in two.

"This is my first time seeing a mermaid," said Nabil, touching the scales of the corpse.

"I guess you’ve seen mermaids a lot considering you’ve been at sea since you were a kid," Zaskia said mockingly.

"Ha... Ha... Very funny..." Nabil replied.

Zaskia pointed her hand forward and all the blood belonging to the mermaid was sucked out and formed a ball made of blood.

The mermaid’s corpse suddenly dried up after all the blood was forcibly removed.

"At least we know that mermaids have the same blood cells as humans," said Zaskia who kicked the mermaid corpse into the sea.

"What now?" asked Nabil.

"I think that’s enough for tonight, we just met a mermaid who is clearly a mythical creature. I don’t want to fight two mythical creatures in one night," Zaskia replied.

At the Donggala regent’s building.

In a large room that only contained cooking utensils, a man with a very feminine stature seemed to be busy preparing dishes.

His fair skin and slim body made his look like a girl at first glance, especially with his feminine face and demeanor.

That man was none other than Ardi.

Although in the hierarchy, his position was quite high because of the (Alchemist system) he possessed, unfortunately he was the only one with good cooking skills, beside Johan of course.

In the midst of preparing to cook dinner, Ardi sighed a few times.

"Just because I look like a girl and can cook, why do I have to be in this position?" lamented Ardi who saw a pink apron with a teddy bear on it.

"Even though this apron looks cute," Ardi continued his monologue with a smile.

Although his smile only lasted a few moments when he realized that he had to cook a lot of food for tonight.

"Why?" complained Ardi who sighed heavily once again.
