"Hehe, this ice cream is so good!"

A happy look appeared on Risa’s face as she placed her palm on her face and enjoyed the taste of the ice cream with great satisfaction.

"It was a good thing that we came to the karaoke!"

Hearing her words, Mark shook his head, and a helpless look appeared on his face.

After having a meal, Risa dragged him to a nearby karaoke, ordered sweets and ice cream for the two of them, and asked him to sing for her.

He was blushing all over in shame, but Risa was having the time of her life; she was smiling happily, looking at him struggling and blushing.

Mark is usually always busy, and she rarely ever gets to spend time with him; it’s rare to get a chance like today, thus she’s thoroughly enjoying it to the fullest.

She didn’t care about him not being good at singing; she didn’t even care whether he was good or bad at some things; she simply wasn’t bothered by his flaws.

She accepted him despite his flaws, and her love for him only increased even when seeing him being so clumsy.

She liked teasing him, but despite that, she loved him a lot.

"It’s my turn now!"

Risa took the mic from Mark’s hand as she hurriedly stuffed the rest of the ice cream in her mouth; she selected a love song on purpose and smiled at Mark cutely to lower his guard.

Then she started singing in a gentle and soft tone, completely grabbing Mark’s attention.

Her singing was so good that Mark couldn’t take his eyes off her.

As an assassin, she’s learned a variety of things and has a lot of skills in various fields.

She is basically a jack of all trades; even if you throw her in a random unfamiliar city with nothing, she can still make a living for herself and survive with the help of her skills.

After singing for a while, she got a bit worn out, so she sat down beside Mark and snatched away his juice for herself.

Seeing that, Mark was taken aback for a bit but couldn’t stop her so he didn’t say anything and could only mutter to himself,

"That... was an indirect kiss...."

Risa smirked at him and teased him.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that? Don’t tell me that an indirect kiss wasn’t enough? You want more?"

"Well, that’s fine with me, you know~"

Hearing that teasing tone, Mark didn’t bother arguing with her and ignored her words, but the blush on his face revealed that he was shy.

Risa didn’t press him too much, as she was afraid he would get angry if she went too far; she just chose another song and started singing again!

"Let goo!! Today we will enjoy to our heart’s content!!"

The two of them stayed in the karaoke until evening and only left when Risa was fully satisfied.

"It was awesome~ It’s been a while since I had so much fun. Going to the Elven nation and fighting and training for so long really put a lot of pressure on us."

"Let’s go; I know a park nearby. It has amazing scenery, and many people go there for picnics. We can have a relaxing walk there!"

Risa didn’t even wait for Mark to say anything and just dragged him away with her.

Mark knew that he couldn’t argue with her at this point, as she might not even listen to anything in this excited state, so he didn’t bother refusing and got dragged away helplessly.

’W-well, she looked kind of cute when singing so happily and it’s true that I don’t spend a lot of time with her despite us being engaged so I guess it’s fine to spend some time today...’

The two of them reached the park while holding each other’s hand.

Mark felt that many passersby looked at them holding hands and being all lovey-dovey as they walked; it felt a bit embarrassing to do this in public, but he didn’t want to upset Risa, so he didn’t let go of the hand.

’She’s always training with her sword despite being a mage... her palm is much rougher than mine.’

Risa herself was nervous and a bit insecure about her hands being like that; she knew that she wasn’t like other girls who like to do make-up and look good all the time.

The two of them matched each other’s pace of walking and started to wander around the park with relaxed and happy looks on their faces.

The warm, gentle evening breeze brushed past them and made the atmosphere even better.

The sky looked a bit reddish as the sun was slowly setting on the horizon; tree leaves were swaying slowly along with the gentle breeze and making a relaxing sound.

It was as if only the two of them existed in their own world at that moment.

It was the perfect moment to say the things that usually stay hidden in your heart; it was a say-it-now-or-never situation.

A look of determination appeared on Mark’s face; he looked straight into Risa’s eyes and spoke in a calm and gentle tone.

"I love you, Risa..."

"I know that I don’t say it and I am bad at showing my love for you but... I do love you a lot; you are very precious to me... I am sorry that I give you so less time..."

"I promise that once I am strong enough to protect everything that I want to protect... once I am strong enough to protect those who I love and care for... I will for sure stop being such a workaholic..."

"I will relax and spend my entire day with you..."

Mark was always suppressing these words in his heart.

Although he loves Risa a lot, he just can’t stop his training and magic studies.

He loves magic just as he loves Risa; he can leave his passion and his ambition behind just for the sake of being with her.

He didn’t want to upset Risa, due to which he never said these words out loud.

But seeing her so happy today, he realized that he was always spending a very small amount of time with her; he was always focused on his own goals.

Thus, he couldn’t stop himself from acknowledging his own faults.

Her own family car was already there to pick her up; she waved her hand to say bye and left immediately as if she wanted to hide her own embarrassment from Mark.

Mark, on the other hand, was so shocked that his brain shut down, and he stood in the same spot for a good few minutes before he came back to his senses.

He put his fingers on his lips as his cheeks became a bit red.

’It tasted like ice cream... wh-what am I even thinking about!?’

Startled by his own thoughts, Mark panicked and hurried home.
