Chapter 117: Chapter 117: Scare her passengers to death

"Sanya, send me that advertisement to my messenger," Qin Zhuzhu texted her friend.

Soon, her phone pinged with a message. Qin Zhuzhu looked at the requirements to get hired in a company as a fashion designer.

Qin Zhuzhu: Is that all?

She stared at the poster. She didn’t have experience in this industry.

Sanya: That’s all I can find. There are also positions for waitresses, jewelry designers, drivers, cleaners, and shop assistants.

Qin Zhuzhu: ...

She had no experience in any of these industries because she had lived her entire life surrounded by wealth and never really worked out there. She did do some things in her free time as hobbies, but those didn’t count. Her resume was empty.

Sanya: Why don’t you become a driver? You like to race.

Qin Zhuzhu: And scare my passengers to death? I’ll pass.

Sanya: Try something new. I heard there’s a fashion competition coming up. Hey, maybe you could join as a model. Your body looks good!

Qin Zhuzhu: Are you kidding me?!

Sanya: Come on! Fighting! Don’t be shy! You can’t stay broke forever. You can’t stay afraid of accepting new challenges and opportunities. Life’s too short.

After they finished chatting, Qin Zhuzhu thought about what she would do in the future. The future was long, and she was still young.

Although she had two billion yuan in her hands, she wanted to use that money to revive the Qin Group. So she had to plan carefully. She couldn’t use it for her living expenses.

Reviving a company needed more than two billion yuan. It wasn’t easy, but Qin Zhuzhu was determined. She wanted to fulfill Grandpa’s wish.

A fashion designer didn’t seem so bad. When she was young, she liked to draw and design her own clothes. She used to have lots of crazy, wacky ideas, but after she married Xu Meng, everything died down.

Why did she give up so much? Qin Zhuzhu asked herself.

Speaking of Xu Meng, Qin Zhuzhu realized that the end of the month was coming. Xu Meng had said that he would pay back the remaining three billion yuan.

Qin Zhuzhu sat there, basking in the afternoon’s glow. The soft green grass comforted her and brought her peace of mind.

"What did Peixuan Ruxi do to the Xu sisters? I hope they’re still well," she wondered.

Peixuan Ruxi had such a notorious reputation. No one dared to touch him, not even the authorities.

She had asked her uncle, Song Muci, to help her mother find something to do or get a job. She knew that her mother didn’t want to stay idle and might meet wicked employers. Her mother, somehow, always felt sorry toward her.

So Qin Zhuzhu filled out an application form. The next morning, all the candidates were called to a five-star hotel. They were given a test. There were three rounds.

For the first test, they had to design a dress. The most creative and innovative dress would be picked by the three judges. These judges were from top international companies, so naturally, their standards were very high.

They were only allowed to use selected materials provided for them. Only twenty fashion designers would pass and move on to the next round.

They were given three days for the first test. After three days, they had to return to the hotel and meet with the judges. The judges would also invite a top renowned supermodel to try on the dresses created by the fashion designers and give her opinions.

So Qin Zhuzhu returned home with the materials provided. She met Shentu Jing, who was waiting for her in front of her door.

She raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised.

The CEO of the Shentu Group seemed to have a lot of free time lately.

Feeling that it might not be right to leave him out here, she invited him in.

She went to the kitchen and made him some tea.

"How’s everything at home?" she asked him out of concern. She noticed that he was absent-minded.

"Fine," he replied, unconsciously rubbing the ring on his finger. His "fine" didn’t sound fine at all. Qin Zhuzhu had things to do, so she decided not to bother about his family.

Maybe it was actually normal for his family to be this way. She was thinking too much.

"I’m going on a business trip tomorrow," Shentu Jing suddenly said.

Why was he telling her this?

Qin Zhuzhu nodded. Her lips moved on their own accord.

"When will you be coming back?" She handed him a cup of warm, strong tea. After living with him for some time, she knew that he liked strong teas.

"In a week’s time, if everything goes well," Shentu Jing stared at her, trying to catch a glimpse of her reaction. She had no extra expression on her face.

Hence, he decided to say what had been on his mind the entire time.

"Little Pearl, if there’s anything bothering you, you can talk to me. I’ll solve it all for you. If someone bullies you, just tell me. If you have some questions on your mind, feel free to ask me. I’ll answer them honestly."

Shentu Jing understood that because of the scar in her heart caused by Xu Meng, she was unwilling to trust another man and enter another relationship.

But that’s okay, Shentu Jing told himself. He wanted to heal her scars and wounds, embracing all of her flaws and imperfections.

He didn’t care about her past or anything.

All he cared about was that she was his Little Pearl and living happily.

Qin Zhuzhu looked up to meet his eyes. Because he was a head taller than her, she had to lift her chin to meet his gaze.

Those words touched her heart, melting the cold wall she had built around herself. It made her feel vulnerable, yet loved, cared for, and treasured.

"I’ll be at the airport when you come back," she indirectly meant that she would pick him up.

Shentu Jing was happy with her answer.

He took her hands and placed something cool in her palm.
