Chapter 110: Chapter 110: The true culprit

"Not nice to meet you. I’ve told you, I won’t pay!" she half-whispered and half-shouted into his ear.

"Then I’ll tell them you actually stole the ring and are now threatening me to help you because you stole my credit card and debit card too. I wonder what they’ll think of you," he smirked cruelly at her.

Sanya wanted so badly to land another punch to his eyes. She turned to him with a murderous glare.

"You dare, and I’ll string your balls up on a string."

"I dare. And my balls are free for your touching," he said shamelessly, leaving Sanya speechless.

"Do you think you can work here again after what happened?" he said, breaking the silence between them.

"What do you mean?" Sanya asked, full of doubt. What was this dumb kitten up to?

"Considering what happened, I bet you’ll be fired. Even if they find out you didn’t steal it, they’ll still fire you after the ruckus you caused," Shentu Mingye said persuasively.

"Not caused by me. By her," Sanya corrected him.

"Yes, but it doesn’t matter. You were involved in it anyway. So why don’t you work for me? I’ll pay you a high salary, which you’ll use to pay me back as part of the compensation fee. Bit by bit, you’ll pay back the full amount, and voila! You’ll be a free woman. Doesn’t that sound good?" He leaned toward her.

"Sounds good. But why do I feel like you’re trying to scam me?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. Shentu Mingye’s face dropped.

He opened his mouth to counter her words, but the servant returned at that moment, calling his name.

The servant handed him a paper, which he read and then passed to Mi Liu and the others.

The paper clearly stated that the ring had no fingerprints from Sanya. Instead, it had fingerprints from the janitor, other people, and Mi Liu, whose fingerprints were the most concentrated.

It was believable because it came from a top lab in Shengjing. As expected from the Shentu family!

"Seems like Miss Sanya didn’t touch the ring at all," Shentu Mingye said.

Mi Liu stared at it, anxiety gnawing at her. Her expression changed. She no longer seemed as confident as before.

"That can’t be! Sanya stole it! I’m sure! I saw it!" she cried out.

"I thought you said you left it in the locker room, and when you entered, it wasn’t there, and I was the last one seen coming out of the locker room. So that means you didn’t see me taking it. But now you say you saw me take your ring with your own eyes. What facts are you twisting here, Mi Liu?" Sanya asked.

Everyone started muttering and chattering among themselves. What was going on?

"I-I... Y-you..." Mi Liu stuttered. She had just revealed herself. "Maybe she was wearing gloves or something," Mi Liu shouted.

"I wasn’t. I never wear gloves. Everyone here knows that," Sanya pointed out.

"Then let’s look at the CCTV footage," Shentu Mingye said, and his servant took out his phone.

It seemed he had spoken to the official management of the bar because he gained access to the CCTV footage in seconds.

"Play it on the TV over there," he instructed his servant, pointing to the commercial TV hanging from the ceiling.

Soon, an enlarged version of the locker room footage played before their eyes. Mi Liu gulped nervously as the day’s events unfolded.

Shentu Mingye instructed the servant to rewind and fast-forward until they reached the relevant moment.

They saw it clearly as the servant zoomed in: Mi Liu herself walked into the locker room with the ring on her finger. She took quite some time inside the locker room, so they couldn’t see everything. The locker room was divided into two parts: one where clothes were stored and another where the ladies changed. There was no camera in the changing area, but the other area had one.

Shentu Mingye somehow got special access to a camera that no one knew about.

"This is a secret camera planted by the boss of this bar in case something fishy happens. Don’t worry, it doesn’t move and is focused on one certain area, so it won’t capture your naked bodies," Shentu Mingye explained, to everyone’s shock and disbelief.

One particular footage clearly showed Mi Liu planting the ring in Sanya’s apron pocket herself!

Shentu Mingye motioned for the servant to turn off the TV and turned to everyone.

"So there we have it—the true culprit," he announced.

Sanya turned to Mi Liu with a knowing look.

"Oh, so it was you who planted it in my pocket and then framed me for it. Mi Liu, what a sly bitch you are!" Sanya was ready to start a fight, but Shentu Mingye pulled her back.

The male colleague who had earlier spoken up for Mi Liu walked away in disgust. The workers began chattering among themselves. Mi Liu could only stare at the floor in shame. She had been exposed.

Some of her friends who had previously supported her were now angry at her. She had lied to them, making them look like fools. So they turned away from her and went back to their business.

"Oh, and I forgot to announce a piece of very good news to everyone here," Shentu Mingye said, a wicked smile spreading across his face.

"I’ve spoken to your top boss, Mr. Pan, and he approved. I’ve bought this bar. It’s now mine."

Mr. Bing gasped. Sanya turned to Shentu Mingye in disbelief.

"Mr. Shentu, you’ve bought this bar? Why, it’s my pleasure to serve you. I’ll do my utmost best—" Mr. Bing began to flatter him, but Shentu Mingye raised a hand to silence the fat man.

"Very well then. Since this bar is officially mine, I’ll start with some cleanup work. You, you, and you," Shentu Mingye said, pointing at Mi Liu, Mr. Bing, and the male colleagues who had supported her statements, "are fired. You may all leave and never set foot in this city ever again," he said in a commanding tone.

"What!? How!? Why?" Mr. Bing cried.

"Don’t ask me why or how. Judging from your behavior, you’re not fit to run this bar. Therefore, you can pack up and leave," Shentu Mingye ordered.
