Extreme Cold Era: Shelter Don't Keep Waste-Chapter 539 - 506 Various Models
After completing the tests on the new equipment for the Godslaying Armor, Perfikot secretly dispatched a Flying Airship to transport it to the Empire’s homeland.
The purpose of creating the Godslaying Armor was to suppress the escalating Evil God Sect crisis in the Empire’s homeland. Now that the Godslaying Armor is ready to make its debut, Perfikot naturally has no reason to keep it in the Northern Territory.
As for whether there is a similar issue in the Northern Territory, that is not a matter of concern.
On one hand, the Northern Territory has just been established, lacking fertile ground for the spread of the Evil God Sect. On the other hand, this is Perfikot’s stronghold, where her intelligence network and the Assassin Brotherhood maintain strict surveillance over the entire region.
She may not be able to know every trivial detail, but matters such as whether there are Evil God Sects in the territory and the scale of these cults, she can ascertain clearly.
It is precisely because of this that she dares to confidently mobilize the two Steam Knight Orders under her command without worrying about any unforeseen circumstances.
In the Northern Territory, Perfikot does not believe that anyone can stir up trouble under her watchful eyes.
Even if the Imperial Center has moved to the Northern Territory, with a large influx of noble families and other forces impacting her notification and control, it still does not affect Perfikot’s strategic control over the region.
After all, these people have come to the Northern Territory to seek refuge and start anew; they are not here to seize power.
Although there certainly are ambitious individuals among them seeking personal gain or attempting to maintain their privileges from the Empire’s homeland, these cannot shake Perfikot’s governance or control over the Northern Territory.
In other words, temporarily, they do not yet possess the capability to operate beyond Perfikot’s realm of control.
Furthermore, the majority of these people are reasonable; they merely wish to extract some benefits from Perfikot through political means, not truly intending to overthrow all she has established.
As for those who genuinely harbor such intentions, wishing to replace Perfikot and disrupt the peace and stability of the Northern Territory, they would be dealt with by others on behalf of Perfikot without her needing to personally intervene.
In the end, everyone is in the Northern Territory to live a peaceful life; causing trouble is at odds with the interests of all.
Of course, Perfikot’s control over the Northern Territory also ensures that, in the rare event one of these fools is not promptly eradicated, she can effortlessly suppress them at a moment’s notice.
Therefore, under these circumstances, Perfikot can naturally relocate the Godslaying Armor with peace of mind.
Moreover, she has further development plans for the Godslaying Armor; after relocating the current prototype, the research team will coordinate with Weir and her disciples to create new Godslaying Armors.
The new models of the Godslaying Armor will abandon some unnecessary components, reduce certain functions, and attempt to minimize its size.
Although the current body size of the Godslaying Armor is not problematic, its height of several meters is roughly equivalent to that of a Gundam, posing various inconveniences in deployment and use.
According to Perfikot’s plan, the most suitable height should be around seven meters.
This size is large enough to carry heavy armor and various non-personnel weaponry, while also being easier to navigate through relatively narrow areas than the prototype.
After all, Evil God Sects rarely operate openly; their altars or bases for summoning ancient deities are mostly hidden, often situated in pits or natural caves.
In such locations, while spacious underground areas capable of holding regiment-level battle formations exist, narrow tunnels or underground structures where Steam Knights find it cramped are more common, let alone a prototype over several meters tall.
Thus, reducing the size of the Godslaying Armor to expand its application scope is the primary development method for the next-generation models.
As for the large-sized prototype, Perfikot has no intention of discarding it, as its size is suitable for countering the typically enormous forms of Evil Gods recorded in texts. Its only drawback is being restricted to open spaces.
Even urban streets appear narrow for the current Godslaying Armor; if it unleashes its full combat potential, nearby buildings won’t withstand the collateral damage, being crushed quickly.
Perfikot envisions multiple models of varying sizes for the Godslaying Armor.
The initial version is similar in size to Steam Knights, worn like armor, which was Perfikot’s original intention — to equip titular knights or those who have broken through to Legendary status, becoming high-end forces capable of smiting gods.
The next is Perfikot’s envisioned medium model, approximately seven meters tall, similar to a mecha. Its main role is to accompany elite units, providing heavy firepower support and armor protection.
This model does not require high-ranking Knights as pilots; although it still requires an Extraordinary, general knights or titular knights are more than capable of piloting it. It can be used against the Evil God Sect before divine descent or when ancient gods are not excessively powerful.
Based on Perfikot’s collected data, the divine descent of Evil God Sects occurs in several modes, some merely invoking a will and a bit of divine power upon the summoner, which is the easiest to handle. Given it’s just a minor divine power transfer, a sufficiently powerful Legendary Extraordinary can resolve it.
Others manifest an avatar, typically stronger than the former but weaker than a true divine descent, considered a low-grade divine version.
This divine avatar possesses strong combat abilities, usually requiring a well-coordinated and experienced battle squad to handle.
Incidentally, the squad must comprise Legendary or sufficiently powerful titular level Extraordinary members for a chance of victory.
Taking low-level Extraordinaries to confront it would be pointless; even a swarm of ants can’t take down an elephant.
Lastly, the worst-case scenario mentioned in various texts is the true divine descent.
In such instances, even Legendary Extraordinaries are futile; the solution the church proposes is sacrificing lives to bide time until the god’s visiting time elapses.
The prototype of the Godslaying Armor was developed explicitly for such situations.
