Extreme Almightiest Young Master-Chapter 1775 - 1757: Dealing with the Bugs
Lin Feng was indeed interested in the Panlong Dragon Abode, but not for its treasures. Rather, he was intrigued by the inheritances that could grant him new abilities. Like the previous visit to the Yuanxu Heavenly Immortal’s mansion, it provided him with new insights and significantly enhanced his power, which was Lin Feng’s main concern.
In a few strides, he covered thousands of miles, and it was just moments after hanging up the phone that Lin Feng found himself beside the Heaven Pit.
"Greetings, Sect Master!"
"Greetings, Sect Master!"
...
Upon seeing Lin Feng appear, everyone quickly greeted him, their eyes fixed on Lin Feng, hoping he could discover a way to deal with these insects. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Lin Feng said nothing and merely waved at everyone before flying into the Heaven Pit from above. Once in the pit, he carefully flew to a spot several meters above the insects and began to carefully observe what these insects truly were.
Each insect was about half a palm in size, resembling Egyptian Scarabs. However, these insects had a pair of large pincers on their heads and no wings, with bodies so black they shimmered like charcoal, clearly not ordinary creatures.
The insects covered the ground several feet deep, with the entire open space at the bottom of the Heaven Pit completely filled with them. Lin Feng noticed the stone walls in the pit were also peculiar, not of normal color, but a deep, dark green, undoubtedly the walls that restricted these insects’ freedom, preventing them from wreaking havoc outside with their formidable attacking power.
Seeing this, Lin Feng suddenly had a doubt. When were these insects buried here, and what sustained them until now, knowing that the abode had existed for countless years, yet these insects still lived, there must be something mysterious.
What method would be effective in eliminating these insects?
Floating in mid-air, Lin Feng began devising a plan. Xia Yuntian had previously informed him that these insects had a monstrously strong defense and could devour Gang Qi; other methods like water, fire, and poison were ineffective. Even when trying to capture one for study, the iron cage was gnawed clean upon reaching the bottom. Confronted with such insects, Lin Feng was equally at a loss.
External attacks don’t kill these insects, so perhaps from within? But the exterior shell couldn’t be breached, so how to discuss the interior?
At this thought, Lin Feng’s eyes suddenly brightened. Conventional methods were useless against these insects, and the Panlong Sage must have anticipated cultivators coming here, thus ruling out these methods.
However, the inefficacy of cultivator methods doesn’t imply Secular World tools are also ineffective. Lin Feng recalled something special, a microwave oven! Isn’t the function of a microwave to heat things from the inside? If he stationed a gigantic microwave emitter at the top of the sky, wouldn’t the whole Heaven Pit resemble a microwave oven!
This thought brought Lin Feng immense clarity. The Panlong patriarch certainly wouldn’t have foreseen the advent of microwave emitters. But it made him even more curious about the Panlong Sage’s abode. The Yuanxu Heavenly Immortal’s abode had fewer obstacles set up, yet the Panlong Sage planned so much – what was the intention?
He swiftly exited the Heaven Pit, and people immediately surrounded Lin Feng upon his return.
"Sect Master, is there a way?"
"Sect Master, how do we deal with those insects?"
"Sect Master, what are those insects anyway?"
...
People urgently inquired, genuinely tormented by these insects, who would have imagined such powerful creatures, no less than Divine Beasts!
"Don’t worry, there’s a way to deal with them, though it will require some time," Lin Feng assured, aware everyone wanted to enter the Panlong Dragon Abode and quickly informed them not to worry.
After hanging up, he called Chu Meng, explaining the situation here, and asked Chu Meng to organize high-powered microwave emitters, as many as possible. Aware of the urgency, Chu Meng promptly contacted relevant departments of the Cloud Fund.
After making the call, Lin Feng saw everyone waiting, smiled faintly, and told them: "You can all leave, leave a few people to watch here to prevent accidents. Once things arrive, we will come together again."
"Yes, Sect Master!"
"Yes, Sect Master!"
...
Realizing there’s no use waiting here, everyone followed Lin Feng’s orders and left, leaving Xia Yuntian to arrange for supervision. Seeing no immediate matters for himself, Lin Feng left too, taking advantage of the next twos days to reunite with his companions and family.
Just a day later, news arrived from the Secular World stating the items were secured, but unclear where to transport them. Upon learning this, Lin Feng instructed Chu Meng to place them all in one location and leave a manual, then went to the Secular World himself to load them in a Space Ring.
Over by the Heaven Pit, Xia Yuntian and team followed Lin Feng’s instructions and waited. When he returned, Lin Feng placed the items on the ground.
There were only four vehicles, but they weren’t ordinary. Each vehicle was the size of four cars and equipped with mechanical arms similar to excavators, but instead of buckets, they had something resembling large pots, bewildering everyone about their purpose.
Additionally, each vehicle was paired with a set of high-energy generators to power the cars, as the energy consumption of microwave emitters is substantial, requiring additional supplies.
Fortunately, there was a manual. Lin Feng skimmed through it and immediately positioned the four vehicles as designated. The four cars covered the pit opening and aligned the pots toward the pit. He then connected the generator sets to the vehicles. After completing all preparations, Lin Feng activated the four microwave emitters.
"Buzz..."
With the generators operating, a deep sound echoed, instantly felt by all, as if their eardrums would burst. Ground stones and dust began a violent vibration while visible shockwaves shot out from the pots straight down into the pit...
"Squeal, squeal, squeal..."
Immediately, the insect sea below roiled, emitting piercing shrieks as if they faced grave danger, instinctively trying to resist the microwaves.
Everyone had retreated far, watching the pit’s entrance, curious whether these strange contraptions could kill the insects — should they succeed, all trouble would be gone.
After a full tea time, the shrill cries from the insect sea started to weaken. When an hour passed, the cries completely ceased.
Seeing the scene, everyone wanted to check but were stopped by Lin Feng. Citing the sheer number of insects, Lin Feng urged caution, advising to wait until they were entirely exterminated to avoid potential danger.
An hour and more later, sensing through Divine Sense, Lin Feng confirmed the insects at the pit’s bottom were thoroughly dead before switching off the microwave emitters.
"Hold on, I’ll go check," Lin Feng remarked, directly floating into the pit from the top, determined to examine things personally to avoid any unforeseen incidents.
Upon reaching the bottom, he saw countless insect carcasses with solidified green juices oozing everywhere, and the air was thick with a suffocating odor. Though non-toxic, the stench was overwhelming. He carefully inspected, ensuring no dangers lingered, then collected the carcasses into his Space Ring before ascending the pit.
"Everyone can come now, we’re all of the same Sect, no need to rush," Lin Feng calmly announced, prompting an enthusiastic rush into the pit.
For safety, those entering were all Inner Pavilion Elders responsible for exploring, ensuring no problems before the main force from the Holy Wind Sect arrived.
The door wasn’t high, barely two meters, resembling a stone gate. Beside it stood a stele inscribed with the word "Panlong" in a script shimmering with a red glow. Pushing the stone gate open revealed a silver-white shimmering fissure, undoubtedly the entrance to the Panlong Dragon Abode.
Lin Feng didn’t hesitate, stepping inside directly into the silver-white fissure. The Inner Pavilion Elders followed him.
As their eyes briefly flashed with silver light, suddenly, they found themselves in another world.
Within this world, there’s no sunlight; a pervasive gray haze limits vision to ten meters or so. Yet, the abundant, almost primal Spiritual Energy suffusing the air brought unparalleled comfort to everyone. Undeniably, the Spiritual Energy concentration here surpassed the Immortal-Slaying Secret Realm by at least tenfold!
Though greatly excited, nobody moved erratically — the unsettling atmosphere discouraged impetuous actions that might lead to trouble, especially with their Divine Sense restricted to a paltry fifty meters radius, a disconcerting limitation.
