Chapter 91: Qian Yun’s Hunger
Just as Qian Yun had finished his story, Han Xuhan’s eyes began to twitch. The familiar semi-transparent silver glow shone in his vision once more!

Han Xuhan nearly lost his composure upon reading the description of Qian Yun’s Quest.
The Quests could be divided into multiple Acts too?
Good heavens! This guy is hiding an appetite even bigger than Mu Ran! But does he have the ability and fortune to pursue a goal so grand?
Perhaps the lack of those things was why the system considered him a ’potential’ Child of Destiny, unlike Xuanyuan Zhou or Mu Ran. In terms of character ranking, Qian Yun should be above Xiao Wu, but below the other two genuine Children of Destiny.
While he was distracted by his impression of the Quest, Qian Yun cleared his throat to break the silence. Han Xuhan quickly got his thoughts back to the conversation.
"Didn’t your great-grandfather give any hint of what you can expect during the inheritance test?"
Qian Yun nodded.
"He had a map that led to several distant countries where the Holy Land was known to have gateways. One led me here. At first, I couldn’t find any trace of it.
"But after nearly a month’s search, I discovered the portal in the woods, and realized that it had been masked by some very powerful Mystic Arts, which for some reason had begun to weaken. I didn’t care about the reason. I just dived in."
Han Xuhan wasn’t foolish enough to believe everything Qian Yun told him. Truth can be easily twisted with a few key pieces of information hidden. The first technique all politicians had to learn was the art of subtly misguided statements.
Nonetheless, he had gotten a rough idea of the bigger picture now.
"That’s a neat background lore you have, Brother Yun. Very touching, very motivating. Let’s talk about our plan of action right now. What do you think we can expect inside?"
If Qian Yun was bothered by his placid reaction, he didn’t show it. He straightened up and voiced his opinion confidently.
"The first stage of the inheritance test was to examine our ability to think up solutions and try everything at our disposal, regardless of the risks. It also tested our courage and wisdom under the pressure of time.
"But in the backstage, while we were trying our best to learn the language of laws, our spiritual foundations were infiltrated, which points toward certain possibilities that the Holy Land of Laws may not strictly stick to typical righteous practices.
"But I wouldn’t fault them for the precautions. Now, in the next stage, there are a few possibilities that we need to prepare for. If all the orbs of lights in the fog are circles of laws, then we’ve already learned what we could from them.
At least in our cases, our foundation tower cannot hold too many alphabets of this language, which I assume are limitations created due to our low cultivation level, just like any other Mystic Art.
"If we have a breakthrough that enhances our spiritual world, or perhaps practice Mystic Arts that strengthen it, then we can hope to absorb and comprehend more alphabets down the line.
"This brings us back to the possible contents of the next test. Since we cannot learn much more of this language for now, then what we can do is practice!
"From this point of view, I believe that we would have to frequently use these law fragments we’ve learned so far, perhaps against other cultivators who have passed the first test and entered this stage already."
Han Xuhan was closely observing Qian Yun as he spoke. He had expected a constructive, logical answer. But this was too terrifying!
Even he hadn’t thought of some of those points presented by this guy.
The world of cultivation was truly full of talented people!
Nevertheless, Qian Yun was practically his bodyguard now, at least temporarily. So the more talented and intelligent he was, the better Han Xuhan felt about it!
They had to stick together like this for the next stage of the inheritance test.
"You present some fine points, Brother Yun. If your conjectures are true, then we have to do our best to avoid other newly recruited disciples of this Holy Land. Which means, we cannot enter any of the orbs we can see from here, eh?
"After all, if we can think of what to expect at the next level, so can others. So, any cultivator who has entered this stage would set up traps using law fragments inside the stadiums up ahead. The moment we enter, we’ll trigger an ambush that can slaughter Soul Reformation cultivators like ants!"
Qian Yun mulled over Shen Kai’s words. In the fog, their vision was limited. They could see a few orbs in the distance. But there was a high possibility that all of those orbs had already been occupied. In that case, blindly entering them would be akin to jumping into a fire pit.
"...This is going to be a big problem."
Han Xuhan and Qian Yun exchanged a long look through their masks and then stood up together. Zhanxian jumped up a second later.
All three of them faced the fog ahead of them.
"Why don’t we ignore all the orbs containing the circle of laws and directly rush toward the center of the foggy area?" Qian Yun suggested.
Han Xuhan laughed. He had just remembered a certain detail from the time he had spent outside the foggy area. There had been a lot of shouts and sounds of battle deep within the fog.
"I’m afraid that many of our predecessors have already done exactly that. And if we do not enter the circle of laws ahead, then our next challenge is going to be... fighting each other amidst the fog, Brother Qian Yun."
