Extra's Revenge: Reincarnated As A Slave-Chapter 73: Fall Of The Desgarron Family (Part 1)
It was especially dark that night.
The moon retreated within the deep recesses of the clouds, and the deep purple sky was almost pitch black.
A total of forty people stood in front of the manor, their silhouette figures almost making them completely invisible under the umbrella of deep darkness.
They stared at the compound with sharp eyes, gleams of ambition embedded in each pair.
’Logan and the other seventeen should have set things up within the Manor.’
Indeed.
The current members of the Sunlit Order numbered fifty-eight, rather than their intended sixty.
They were previously fifty-nine, but with Davin’s demise, this was the new total.
That didn’t matter now, though.
Not anymore. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
With eighteen inside and forty invading from outside, the plan could still be implemented.
In fact, success in the early stage was already guaranteed.
"Now then..." Serena’s mature voice echoed in the dark field as she set her eyes on the tall walls that protected the Manor beyond.
"... Let us begin!"
She brought forth a white gem from within her shadowy figure and quickly activated it.
This created a homing signal.
All she had to do was wait for the gem on the other side to also be activated. Once that happened, they would move onto the next stage.
’I hope things are going well on your end, Logan...’ Serena’s silent gaze was filled with concern and a hint of uncertainty.
As for Julius, he had an irritated look.
’You better not ruin this for me!’ He gritted his teeth impatiently.
Thankfully their fears were all for naught.
BEEP!
Serena’s device echoed with a soft noise which told her that Logan had successfully activated his own gem.
Now, they had to act quickly.
"Let’s move!"
Serena dashed forward, and everyone else did the same. They all charged towards the walls, completely confident that they wouldn’t be spotted by the investigative methods of the Desgarron Family as well as the defensive barrier that covered the entire compound.
All of them activated their respective Artifacts and jumped over the tall fence, feeling no reservation in their heart.
Their silhouette forms protected them from visual recognition, so they didn’t fear the attention of any patrol officer currently operating within the compound.
Once they all entered, they took in the magnificent sight of the compound.
Hundreds of hectares of land lay strewn before them. The glory was indiscribable.
Most of these people had lived in abject poverty and had to struggle for most of their lives.
None of them had also worked in the Dedgarron Manor, so this was the first time they were seeing this noble residence in person.
The sight caused their determination to soar.
’Now we covertly take out the patrols and take their place. That’s the best way to get closer without eventually being spotted.’
Their silhouette forms were effective, but it wasn’t without a flaw.
It limited their use of special abilities to the activation of Armaments. Using these things while in their shadowy forms created fluctuations that could be detected by others if they were paying sufficient attention.
So, in order to reach the mansion as quickly as possible and also execute the rest of their plans, they needed proper disguises.
Ergo... becoming patrol officers.
’As for those already inside the manor, they’ll be using their Silhouette forms. We’ll be able to easily identify them and rendezvous.’
This was yet another benefit of the Silhouette Form. Anyone given permission to see it even once would be able to see it in perpetuity.
This was actually why Rey could detect them racing through the city.
Logan had shown him his silhouette form in the prison. Even if he erased that memory, it didn’t affect Rey’s real soul.
If that had not been the case, Rey would never have even stumbled on their meeting.
Nevertheless, the group moved with precision.
They covertly took down the unsuspecting patrol officials who had not detected any security breach and thought the night would be like every other night.
To be honest, patrol guards were largely ceremonial in nature.
They barely did anything.
This was because of the sophisticated security measures that protected the manor of a Noble.
No one besides a Noble could infiltrate it, but Nobles would never attack each other using such methods.
They mostly fought in the realm of politics.
This was because of the Code of Nobility that existed among Noble Households.
Even if they could no longer settle their differences, the Families would simply go to war and settle their differences there.
Sending assassins was not their way of life.
’The Leader really helped us out with these Gems. Without them, we wouldn’t be having such an easy time...’ Serena snuck up on a group of guards and killed them with a single Technique.
They didn’t even notice her presence.
"Alright. Now that we’ve taken down all the patrol officers in the outer region, let’s move in and take their places." After getting rid of the bodies and now taking on the appearance of a guard herself, Serena met up with her allies, and together... They marched towards the mansion a distance away.
*****
An hour into the invasion, and all forty of them had finally made it to the Mansion.
Not a single one had died.
Their operations hadn’t yet been compromised either. This came as no surprise, though, since the infiltration plan always involved forty members coming in from outside.
They also knew the Manor inside out thanks to the efforts of all the spies who worked with the Desgarron Family.
Logan himself had been here for decades.
That was enough time for him tk know the nooks and cranny of this place.
"We split up now. Rendezvous with the ones assigned to you, and we will meet at the designated area."
"Understood."
Everyone split into eight teams, leaving only Serena and four others with her.
"Let’s go!"
She advanced with her subordinates through the main entrance, which was already unlocked before their arrival.
All other places would also have ease of access thanks to their insiders.
’Now... we have to tread carefully.’
The Mansion was incredibly large, with too many unknown variables.
They couldn’t have prepared for all of them.
The team then began navigating through the Manor, placing traps and setting up Artifacts in strategic positions as they moved.
So far, they still hadn’t been caught.
No one had died.
Their expert planning and remarkable patience had paid off in the end.
’Julius will take the backdoor, Silas will handle the kitchen area, Drakus will take care of the auxiliary structure...’ Serena went over everyone’s roles in her head while supervising her team to ensure they did everything right.
After all, they planned to destroy the entire mansion once their mission was complete.
This was to draw commotion to the mansion, cover their tracks, and hide their escape. To do so, planting bombs was essential.
The traps were to ensnare pursuers or problematic elements while the mission was underway. They also needed surveillance on the area, so that was also part of it.
Everything they accounted for and executed without a hitch.
’Off to a solid start. Now then...’ Serena’s face grew more serious once her relieved smile faded away.
’... On to the difficult part!’
