Extra's POV: My Obsessive Villainous Fiancee Is The Game's Final Boss-Chapter 160: Heir Of Underwood
"Lord Underwood?" Ren choked on his own spit, his eyes wide.
"How would you like to be my heir, Ren?" Lord Underwood asked, expression still serious.
"I—" Ren had no idea what to say. What does one say when they are asked to become the heir of a moderately wealthy house just by marrying into it?
Yes? No? I'll think about it?
"I know you're surprised." Lord Underwood said. "But there's no one else I'd rather ask. Octavian is… gone." The man swallowed. "Forever. There's no point in looking for him anymore. And among everyone betrothed to my three daughters, you're the one I trust the most, Ren. You're the only person I know who won't let House Underwood die off."
"You don't have to take the Underwood name. You only have to oversee House Underwood, and when you give me grandchildren, one of them shall take the Underwood name and continue my bloodline. What do you say?"
"I—" Ren paused. "Why me?"

Lord Underwood exhaled. "You're strong, Ren. Stronger than the other fiances, and you have Lilith by your side. And best of all, I know I can trust you."
"You don't have to answer me now." Lord Underwood leaned gingerly back in his chair. "I know the look of your eyes. I know about the fire in your blood. The song that is singing in every part of you."
"I know that no matter what I do, I cannot stop you from leaving today. So, I won't. I've felt exactly what you're feeling right now. Just like you, I left home, feeling the world call to me. I saw a lot of things, experienced a lot of things, even cut down a lot of Tidecallers. Now, you too must go on your journey."
"However, do not go for too long, Ren." Lord Underwood. "If you return and I'm still alive, I'll get your answer then. Until then, you can travel in peace, Ren." The man nodded in understanding.
"Does that mean I can take Lilith?" Ren asked, pushing the offer to a corner of his mind, when he'd have the time to actually go through his feelings on the matter. For now, he latched onto the one thing that still made sense.
"Of course." Lord Underwood laughed, a grating sound. "Why will I stop Lilith from going? She'll be the most dangerous thing on your journey." he said with pride.
His expression changed, turning solemn. "It's not like I can even stop her from going." he said, meeting Ren's gaze. "Her Gift…" he trailed off.
"I know." Ren said softly.
"It keeps changing her." The man stared at Ren, hope shining in his eyes. "I'm placing my trust in you, Ren. As much as I'm ashamed to have failed in my duties as her father, I'm glad that the son of my dear friend is a better man than I." He paused. "Thank you, Ren."
"And thank you, Lord Thomas." Ren bowed slightly. "For engaging me to Lilith and giving me the opportunity to meet her. I'll forever be grateful for that. More than you'll ever know."
The man smiled sadly at Ren. "You have my blessings. Go forth and see the world. And may you come back with one or two grandchildren for me."
Ren ignored the last part of the sentence. Another thing pushed to the back of his mind.
"Unfortunately, I can't walk you to the courtyard." Lord Underwood chuckled. "Until we meet again, Ren."
He stretched his hand and Ren clasped it at the elbow. "Until we meet again."
And with that, he left the study, making his way back to the courtyard, where Lilith was waiting.
"Ren!" She greeted, pulling him into a hug. "I did it. When do I get my reward?"
"Very soon." Ren chuckled. "Are you ready?"
"Yeah." She pulled back, pointing to her horse where it stood beside Ren's. "Look. Our horses. They match. Just like us."
Ren looked up to see what she was talking about. His horse stood tall with dark fur and a white patch on its forehead, while Lilith's had snow white fur, with a dark patch on its forehead.
"How did you get that horse?" He laughed.
"It's my little secret." She smiled. "Let's go!" She cheered.
They mounted their horses, Thorn and Elias doing the same and rode out of the Underwood estate.
Ren and Lilith's horses walked at the front, with Thorn and Elias behind them.
"So, does your horse have a name?" Lilith asked.
"No. Why?" Ren frowned.
"So they'll have couple names. Like us." Lilith smirked.
"Errr…."
"How about Thunder and Lightning?" Lilith suggested.
"Thunder and Lightning?" Ren snorted. "No. Definitely not. Who'll even be the thunder and who'll be the lightning?"
"Mine will be the lightning. No! The thunder." Lilith alternated between the two.
"Choose another set of names." Ren laughed.
"Drift and Breeze?" She ventured.
"I guess I can see my horse bearing Drift." Ren nodded approvingly.
"But my horse will be Drift. Yours will be Breeze." Lilith said in confusion.
Thorn snorted quietly behind them.
"Err… Let's choose something else." Ren smiled. "I don't think this tough guy would like the sound of Breeze." He parted his horse, who snorted, as if in response.
"Shadow and Moonbeam?" Lilith asked.
"Who's Shadow and who's Moonbeam?"
"Mine's Shadow, your's Moonbeam." Lilith replied.
"This won't work either."
"Flint and Rose?"
"Let me guess." Ren hummed as Elias chuckled, with Thorn dying of silent laughter behind him. "My horse will be Rose and yours will be Flint?"
"Yeah." Lilith said brightly. "How did you know?"
"Just a guess." Ren chuckled. "You're kinda good at naming things but the horse you're naming the particular name…"
"How about Doom and Impending Doom?" Ren could hear Thorn whisper to Elias who chuckled in response.
"So, we should name them Flint and Rose?" Lilith continued.
"Nope."
"How about Midnight and Dawn?" Elias piped up from behind them.
Ren glanced back at Elias, nodding approvingly. Thorn was staring with wide eyes at his fellow guard as if the man had a death wish. "That's actually a great idea." Ren grinned at the man. "My horse is dark like midnight and Lilith's like dawn."
"Yeah." Lilith exclaimed, a big smile on her face. "Thanks. Elias."
"My pleasure."
"I'm glad we were able to sort this out but…" Thorn spoke, pointing ahead of them. "Who the hell is that?"
Ren blinked, turning to look forward.
Standing in the middle of the road was a familiar figure, dressed in a trenchcoat, twin blades poking out of each shoulder.
It was Valen, Ren's player character when he'd played Eternal Souls. The same one he'd used to defeat Lilith. And the man was staring straight at him.
"Lord Terence Ross." Valen said, his calm voice floating through the space between them. "Fight me!"
