Extra's Path To Demon King-Chapter 41: Little Demon [2]
Chapter 41: Little Demon [2]
"Big brother, big brother Jerome, please save me, avenge me. This bastard has killed me. Despite knowing who I am, show this bastard who my big brotha is......"
Axel said in a mocking tone, as if Jared was saying, while making the mouth of the severed head move. It was almost like a puppet show, but with only the head. Tears fell from Jerome’s eyes as his anger overtook his fear for a moment, and he shouted,
"FUCKING BASTARD, YOU PIECE OF WRETCH, I PROMISE, NO ONE CAN SAVE YOU FROM ME."
Axel’s smile widened at that sight, and he threw Jared’s head towards a wild animal in the distance. But Jerome wasn’t even able to stand up, despite his anger now being greater than his fear. The density of Axel’s killing intent was just too high.

"And countless more," stated Axel. With each type of heinous crime he listed, he cut the heads of each underling of Jerome one after another. They all began shouting in panic, begging, cursing, bribing, but no method they knew worked on the little demon in front of them. Axel only one left, the second in command of the group alive who had become unconscious.
In the end, only Jerome and his second in command were left alive, but it seems Jerome was having a panic attack, unable to understand the situation completely, or maybe his brain was simply trying to deny the reality to save himself.
Axel cut off one finger of Jerome, and the pain helped the thug leader come back to his senses.
Axel said, "Do you know? How many families have you ruined?"
"How many lives that were attached with every girl you raped."
"All the beggars that you killed, who were the only ones to bring food to their families."
"All the money you took, from all those that begged on the streets, all the shops of the commoners, all the slaves you sold."
"How many lives were ruined by the drugs you sold?"
"Do you regret it? Even a little bit?"
With every word Axel spoke with a little body and childlike voice, he cut off one finger of Jerome every time. Jerome howled in pain every time. But no trace of mercy appeared on the little demon’s face.
"You know why I laughed? Look at me and my brother, I am 9 and my little one is 5, we have never committed any crime or hurt anyone or anything. Yet, look at our situation. Then there’s you two, doing all the disgusting things in the world without hesitation and living like kings."
But Jerome replied in a furious voice, "Everyone has their own stories. Their own sufferings. Their own hell that they crawled out of. As for fairness? As if there was anything like that in this world in the first place. How could a brat like you understand?"
"I FUCKING UNDERSTAND," shouted Axel at the top of his lungs.
"And I understand it, more than most ever could."
He continued calmly, "To be honest, despite the wretch you are and all the things you have committed, I don’t really hate you for that. I have no right to do so. The world isn’t exactly black and white."
"The world is a rainbow, yet in this life I have only seen the darkness."
"But do you know the one thing, that one thing that truly makes me despise you with every fiber of my being?"
Jerome stared at the little demon with a chilling gaze but did not respond.
"In the end, despite all of your actions, no matter how cruel you were to the world. You were a better brother than I ever was. You gave your little brother everything he wanted, everything he needed. You could do that, but I could not. I don’t even know if I could cure him? The possibility is too low," revealed Axel in a helpless tone.
Jerome for the first time was surprised, he was genuinely surprised by that statement. And it wasn’t wrong. He did care for his little brother deeply. But the thought made his anger resurface again as he began to struggle madly.
Axel continued in his chilling voice, unbothered, "The one emotion I truly feel towards is you, ENVY. Genuine envy. For that reason, Jerome, despite the little I have known you. I hate you, but I respect you as well. Since you were a better brother than I."
"So, goodbye," stated Axel and retracted his killing intent. Just as Jerome was freed from the restraint, he ran towards the little demon while grabbing a sword from the ground. He was determined to avenge his little brother even at the cost of his own life.
Yet, it was futile. With a simple swing of his sword. Axel beheaded Jerome with no difficulty.
A maelstrom of emotions raged through his mind, and what he said was indeed the truth. He felt bad for all those victims and their families, he wanted to take revenge for them. But the real reason he decided to kill Jerome and where his hate stemmed from, was his envy.
A fucking thug could give his little brother a better life than what he ever could. Yet, this was kind of illogical, he was in a 9 year old’s body. But he wasn’t really a 9-year-old. And humans rarely followed logic when things became too desperate. Right now, he wasn’t Axel but Ash, and that self of his did not care about anything except for making sure his little brother had a good life. Logic did not matter, reality did not matter.
Axel looked towards the sword he was holding. Somehow, he now seems to be able to control his killing intent and wrap it around his weapon. Which was a nice surprise.
He sighed and stated to seemingly no one, "Come out."
A few moments passed in silence, but a figure eventually walked out from one of the trees a few meters away. As he slowly walked closer, his face was revealed. It was the detective. He had a serious expression on his face as he surveyed the brutal slaughter done by a mere 9-year-old kid. He saw the entire thing from the beginning to the end.
When Axel went back to the hideout of the thugs, he first sent a message to the detective to come at this place, following behind Jerome and his gangs. The detective did just that. He heard everything while making sure no one came near the area.
The detective looked at the 9 year old boy covered in blood from head to toe while his eyes glowed in a crimson light. A chill crept up into his spine, he looked at the kid, who was no less than a demon in his eyes.
Axel started walking as he said, "Get all the information about their hideouts, and all the saved money they have, and knowledge about the other gangs, I mean everything."
He walked away from the place, saying that, while Malric could only obediently nod, "Understood."
Axel cleaned himself at a water source nearby as he simply went on his way. While the detective continued to stand there for a moment, out of fear? out of cautiousness? He didn’t know. Yet, the fact didn’t change that now, he almost felt like a subordinate to the little demon.
It couldn’t be helped, as terror ran through his entire being. The brat didn’t use the entirety of his bloodlust back in his office, and he definitely didn’t see wrong at the last moment. Condensed Bloodlust, he definitely saw it. There’s no mistake, Malric stated with a sad laughter, "A fucking 9 year old using Condensed Bloodlust."
The entire world will go crazy if anyone hears of it. He decided internally to absolutely not, never provoke that little monster. That was out of the question.
Things moved quite fast from then on, the detective got all the information he needed from the the one left alive from the Jerome’s gang. Though Jerome himself had a secret stash of money which no one knew about. But even without that, Axel was able to get a lot of money in one fell swope. He also got other information on multiple other gangs that operated throughout the city.
The detective halted all of his other operations and devoted himself to Axel, helping him gather money. He also revealed to Axel about the ’Condensed Bloodlust’ and how monstrous that achievement was for him. From then on, Axel decided not to use that anymore. Just his pure killing intent was more than enough to paralyze any normal human.
If he caught the attention of any mages, he might end up as an experiment without being able to resist. Axel raided one gang after another, 5 gangs that operated within the city were all killed and their secret wealth all landed on him. Axel moved to a good apartment again, the treatment of his brother resumed since he had enough money by now.
The 5 gangs each seem to form an underground network that handles different businesses each. Multiple bandit groups operated outside of the city, they would ambush carriages on the roads depending on who was in them.
Axel also cleaned those bandits up. No one now took the money from the beggars anymore. With no visible crimes going on throughout the city of Delmar. The life of the commoners improved significantly. Of course, many more tried to rise to positions within those gangs again. But Axel cleaned them all up again and again.
The number of crimes continued to lessen because of his genuine efforts. Unfortunately, even with all the wealth gathered from the local gangs, it wasn’t enough for the entrance test. He needed some more.
