Extra's Path To Demon King-Chapter 172: Runic Weapons [2]
Chapter 172: Runic Weapons [2]
First was the longsword of Lucien, it was a 1.5 meter longsword, its steel body was silver in color, there were 1 rune engraved on one side of it, then on the other side of the swords body 3 smaller runes were engraved in it, which worked as a sort of amplifier for the first one. But it did have only one main ability; others were basically for reinforcing and increasing the durability and weight of the sword.
The sword weighed in 12 kilo or more, the handle of the sword unlike the usual black, it was also made of some kind of silver leather, looking extremely premium, the main rune on the swords one side shimmered in golden hue, the red eyes of the golden prince gleamed in excitement, as he looked towards the sword, that which looked like it was made of shining silver, the full body of it.
Axel made it considering the fact that Lucien always wore clothes mixed with silver and black. The sword on the table radiated quiet but majestic power; just one glance and anyone could tell what kind of terrifying power it held.
The next was Vyra’s bow. At first, she requested two hand-held short swords from him, something that she could use with one hand, but then later on changed her request for a bow; thus, a bow was made. The body of the bow was made from a spinal bone of a 2nd phase monster. He colored it in red, it also had one main pseudo rune and 3 other pseudo runes for supporting the weapon itself. None of the runes directly touched each other, but their effects reinforced the weapon as a whole. The string of the bow was made from the tendons of that very monster that he hunted.
The red and vibrant color of the bow made it look like a harbinger of death that would take the lives of countless supernatural creatures with simply one strike of any arrow fired from it.
It also weighed heavily. A piercing and penetrating power radiated from it, which made Vyra look at it with an awestruck gaze. Then there was the spear of Heinz, its tip was silver-like, made of a premium mix of multiple metals. To be precise, the full body of it was made from a single casting, making it an unfragmented weapon.
But the body of the spear was covered in extensive brown durable leather, it was comfortable to hold, three smaller runes were in the handle of the spear, but since that part was covered in the brown leather it couldn’t be seen, the silver and sharp tip of the spear had the main rune engraved on it, shimmering in its golden light. It was drawn masterfully, largely covering most of it, and the same rune was engraved on both of the silver tip.
The spear truly looked divine in its own right. Ready to pierce through the body of even the toughest creatures like they were made of paper.
Last but not least, there was the golden necklace of Lumina. It did not look flamboyant, but in a way, it was something between simple and majestic looking. There was a crystal-like pendant on the necklace, but it was extremely small and seemed to be made of blue obsidian sapphire. It looked utterly breathtaking, and was probably the tool that attracted the most attention out of all 4 tools displayed on the long table.
One large pseudo rune was engraved on the sapphire, and many smaller runes were on the whole necklace. It looked utterly beautiful. They all slowly, with anticipated breaths, stepped forward. Heinz was the first to put his hand forward and, without hesitation, placed his hand on the spear and picked it up. It wasn’t heavy at all; rather, it was quite light in fact.
He took it in his hand, turned around, and frowned, thinking that it was too light for practical use, then a message flashed through the eyes of Heinz.
[Unbound Relic detected. Do you wish to bind it to yourself?]
Heinz hesitated for a moment, then agreed to it mentally. The others also kept looking at him, waiting for his reaction, another notification followed in his ears....
[Warhorn Spear has been added to your arsenal.]
[Collecting stats of the Relic]
[showing stats........]
Then Prime Nexus showed Heinz the stats and abilities of the spear, and the moment Heinz glanced over at the panel displaying all the relics details, his excited face turned to pure shock, a look of utter disbelief plastered on his face, he couldn’t believe his own eyes, he unconsciously dropped the spear out of bafflement.
The spear dropped from his hands gently to the floor, and only a slight sound of metal clanking was heard. Heinz’s eyes involuntarily turned towards Axel, who was smiling in satisfaction as if expecting that reaction exactly.
Heinz was looking at Axel as if he were some kind of monster of sorts. The others were simply speechless by his exaggerated reaction, then a sudden curious excitement formed within the rest, as they immediately picked up each of the tools created for them, the familiar message flashed through their eyes, and the moment they bound it to themselves.
The same shocked look appeared on their faces as well. Heinz was looking at the weapon with a grim expression. He sighed and put it in his storage device connected to the system, as he was the first one to recover from the shock.
But the others kept looking at Axel in similar shock, he let out a satisfied laughter in return, the most comical look was on Lucien, the guy’s face had turned pale, he looked at Axel with an unknown glint and much more wariness. Axel went forward and patted his back and said, "I think you should go and test out the sword."
He added in a whisper, "Oh, one more thing, I have no interest in wooing the Valkyrie, she’s too haughty for my taste. Not that I could do it even if I tried, so she’s all yours, buddy."
Lucien glared at Axel. he wanted to say something, but then refrained from it, considering they weren’t alone. Axel also asked Lumina, who was still in somewhat shock, but there was something else in her eyes, it was appreciation and gratefulness. She looked at him with somewhat sad eyes and said,
"Thank you," her tone overflowing with immense gratitude. He only smiled at that.
She put the necklace artifact in her storage as well, then, grabbing Lucien’s hand, she simply dragged him away with her. She silently understood that Axel had something to talk about with Vyra and Heinz. Even though they were very close friends, she knew there were many things that Axel kept secret from her, but she tactfully didn’t inquire about it; everyone had their secrets, even her.
Axel, meanwhile, was thankful to her that she understood his cue and left with Lucien. Out of the 4 nexus tools he created, 3 were Relics, meaning they were to be used by warrior branch aspects, and only one was an artifact, meaning it was to be used by magic branch aspects. It was obviously the necklace of Lumina.
And in a way, it was the most special one, out of all 4, because there was a need for it, a sliver of guilt flashed through his eyes, for what the real purpose of the tool was something Lumina would never expect, he could only apologize to her internally.
He glanced at Vyra with a silent questioning look, and she finally broke out of her absent-minded shock. She came to her senses after a while and then asked, unable to contain her curiosity, "You? How did you even....??"
