Extra's Path To Demon King-Chapter 164: Try Again…
Chapter 164: Try Again...
The most disturbing thing was that, perhaps that every time he entered, just as all the bodies looked freshly killed, crimson blood would continuously pour out almost endlessly, the blood would not get absorbed by the ground, but make a small stream of it, and them multiple streams would combine, then more and more would do the same repeatedly.
Until they reach the river made of blood, the taste of iron would permeate the air; blood that had turned into vapor made the world itself look reddish. But he remained unbothered, undisturbed despite how incredibly and disgustingly disturbing the entire world of his 2nd demonic chamber was.
Rather, it only felt welcoming, even...comforting to a certain extent. As if it were his original home. The lingering chaos of death and destruction, in his subconscious, he knew it, he liked it, maybe even.....
But he was forced to stop his internal deliberation because a certain scarlet-like glow appeared in his vision, with no warning whatsoever, a foreign, sinister, and sweet embrace was invading his mind, something whispered in his ears, something heavenly, something too sweet, too lovely, too enchanting to ignore. He was losing himself in a boundless, eternal, and primally obsessive desire.
Axel immediately closed his eyes. With the last shred of sanity that remained in him, he gritted his teeth, blood came out of his gums, and the taste of blood helped him come back to his senses. His eyes remained closed, and he immediately activated the ’Energy Sense’ non-aspectual skill.
His head felt dizzy again; there was no mana here, only the demonic energy. It was an energy that was far, far different from mana; it was... far more violent, negative, destructive, and unstable. It was a form of energy that refused to be tamed. But it was extremely powerful nonetheless. But as a result of seeing the world through the lenses of a chunk of demonic energy, it was something that he had a very bad time getting used to.
His negative emotions, everything was flaring up, especially his obsession. Not only that, the demonic energy in the air itself seemed to be obsessed with that scarlet radiance. With a lot of difficulty, he finally brushed down all the negative feelings and other annoyances.
And now he could finally see again, it was a very fundamentally foreign sense or sight, if it was something that could even be called that. His senses finally picked up something: an extremely dense and compact chunk of demonic energy, structured like a demonic figure, was coming towards him; the best way to describe his current sight would be comparing it to a kind of thermal sensor, which could only pick up heat signatures.
Axel tensed; it was likely his next demonic phantom that he needed to defeat, but this was good, after all, he also wanted answers. He readied himself to fight just in case. Axel activated his runic eyes; now that they had mutated, he could use them in his chaosblood aspect chamber as well.
And the moment he activated the runic eyes, his vision changed once more; his vision, which looked similar to thermal sensing but which only picked up demonic energy instead of heat, gained more clarity and features.
The compacted chunk of demonic energy had almost reached him, and he could see that the energy within the demonic figure moved and churned. a monster-like, abominable voice reached his ears in the next moments,
"So, you came?"
Axel did not respond immediately and remained silent for a moment, but then he asked, "What am I? Who am I?"
The demon phantom of his made the gesture of tilting its head, standing a few meters away from him, it said with a chuckle in its monstrous voice, "It is too early to ask that, and you’re asking the wrong question."
Axel frowned, "What do you mean, what am I supposed to ask then?"
The demon phantom said with a smile, at least that is what its tone suggested, "You don’t remember what the previous one said to you?"
Axel said after some thought, "Beware of the light? But what light? Who?"
The demon phantom shook its head in disappointment, "No, no, no, again wrong question. Use your head properly."
Axel arched his eyebrows, and finally, a flash of understanding passed through his eyes. he looked towards the demon phantom. Again, the demonic energy moved within it. The demon stated, "Yes, that’s right, confront it, you must confront your obsession."
Just as Axel was about to ask it to clarify what it meant, it shot forward at him with no warning whatsoever at a monstrous speed, crossing distance between them in a mere second, Axel crossed both of his arms right in front of his chest, to stop the attack coming towards his heart, but he failed miserably.
The large and monstrous hand of the demon phantom pierced right through his stomach with no resistance, as his hands broke apart like they were made of paper. His closed eyes shot wide open as he saw the hideous and disgusting face of the demon phantom staring right at his eyes with unconcealed mockery. The scarlet radiance landed on him again, as the foreign presence continued to invade his mind, but the enormous pain kept his mind sane. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Axel glared at the grotesque figure of the phantom hatefully. The demon phantom smiled as it showed its blood red teeth, its eyes blazed red, it was humongous, and its skin was like black charcoal. It said, "You cannot win by hiding away from it; you have acknowledged, but that is not enough, you must confront it."
Blood poured out from Axel’s mouth, nose, and eyes. He finally lost his consciousness within the secondary aspect chamber. His eyes shot wide open in his training room. There was a bucket right next to him, and he vomited a large amount of blood; his eyes became hazy, and he couldn’t breathe through his nose or mouth.
As the blood coming out of his stomach blocked all the breathing paths. Only after emptying the blood from his breathing system again could he breathe in the oxygen. There were moments when he really felt like he would die from the lack of oxygen; in these situations, he truly felt like he was on the edge of death. As soon as he could breathe, he gulped down multiple potions. The taste of blood continued to linger on his tongue, and his lungs felt like they were on fire.
He gritted his teeth in frustration, even though he knew very well that he wouldn’t succeed. It still felt frustrating to again get killed, just like how he had first encountered Sin in his secondary aspect chamber, he was killed the same way by it.
