Extra's Path To Demon King-Chapter 151: Scarlet Gaze

"So, that’s why you targeted me, and fooled me into thinking it was Axel Nomrad who was responsible for it?" spoke Prince Luther in fury.

Axel frowned. What is this? It seems Prince Luther and his gang have already made arrangements for the scenario that if they get caught, Taser will reveal that he had done it out of personal vendetta and nothing else, so as not to implicate any of the ones who were actually behind this scheme. Why was Taser shielding the main perpetrators, though? A significant reason could be that if he revealed all the involved parties’ names, they would undoubtedly target his family or some weakness of his that he was unaware of. Axel didn’t even know that Taser’s family was famous for runecasting.

It could be possible that Prince Luther promised Taser that his family would not be dragged into this if he kept his mouth quiet about it. And the academy couldn’t exactly force Taser to speak about it, because of certain rules.

No, perhaps he was underestimating his adversaries too much. It would be weird if they thought that they could actually bring Axel down with this one move, Axel himself was pretty damn sure that as much as the vice-principle said he would not interfere, they would have interfered if he wasn’t able to resolve the situation on his own. Though Mr. Selwyn would not have been happy in that scenario.

Now that something like this happened, from the next weapons he made, he would make sure no such thing ever happened again. Taser spoke nonsense for a while more, playing the role of the jealous villain perfectly while the angry mob of students continued to get more and more enraged by the moment. Professor Alfred finally decided to shut him up and take him back for further interrogation.

More academy staff came and forcefully separated all the students, and they relayed that Taser will be thoroughly interrogated and how he had managed to do such a thing, as well as his initial punishment will be announced on a later date. And there will be no operations of the academy for 2 days.

With that over, everyone started dispersing and going back towards their own apartments. Axel walked towards Enrick Samartan and said gratefully, "Your highness Enrick, I must say, I didn’t expect you to help me out on such short notice."

Enrick smiled mysteriously and said, "What can I say? I have a feeling that helping you will be of great help to me later in the future, and I always trust my feelings."

Axel nodded with a chuckle, "Well, regardless of your feelings, I will definitely repay you for this favor, and let me know if you ever need any help of mine, as long as it is within my capability, I shall not let you down."

"Sure, in that case, I will use my first favor here, call me simply Enrick from now on," stated Enrick Samartan.

"In that case, call me simply Thorian as well from now on," added Thorian Blackvale.

Enrick added in interest, "I must say, Runecaster Axel, you must be quite a social butterfly to be able to form connections everywhere."

At this moment, Heinz added in a mocking tone, "Social Butterfly? and this guy? as if... that is even possible??"

Lucian Suncrest chimed in, "This is one of the most unfriendly guys ever, if you get to know him."

Axel kicked him in the leg, to which Lucien pretended to have been hurt; he also shot an admonishing glare towards Heinz, but the latter only snorted. Thorian laughed aloud, seeing their friendly reactions. At this point, Lumina and Vyra came and joined the group as well, and another round of introductions followed.

For a moment, Axel looked around unconsciously as if sensing a piercing gaze from somewhere, then he looked in a certain direction quite far away, there he saw... that familiar and utterly devastating beauty who radiated violence and brutality with every fiber of her being, his eyes involuntarily locked with her scarlet, radiant eyes.

But unlike before he didn’t find himself lusting over her unreal beauty, there was definitely appreciation for her divine figure but no lust, for a moment he defiantly stared back at her threatening scarlet eyes, he found himself being lost in the deep violence of those breathtaking eyes, boundless cruelty hidden far beneath it, her lips moved and somehow he understood the words she said, as if she whispered them right into his very ears, "WHAT ARE YOU?"

He could even feel her divine voice brushing against his sensitive ears, he frowned, ’what was going on?’ he didn’t understand, as his eyes still remained locked with hers, eventually she far in the distance blinked her eyes, and nodded towards him, then simply disappeared into the crowd, but no one seem to be able to notice her, his frown grew further. Just what was that? What is that supposed to mean?

Just like his own gaze towards her was different this time, her scarlet gaze also seemed somewhat different, before there was pure indifference and even traces of disdain. But now....

Before he could think further, a voice called out to him, "Axel....Axel...., hey Axel."

He blinked his eyes and broke out of his stupor, then looked at the person calling out to him. It was Lumina, everyone was also looking at him in bewilderment, "Sorry, what??" he asked.

Lumina said, confused, "What were you looking at in that direction?"

"Uh..well, I felt a gaze land on me with murderous intent, I think, so I was trying to locate it," he revealed.

Thorian nodded in understanding, "Most of the true perpetrators of this scheme will not be implicated by this incident, likely, and they will again try something; you must remain cautious."

Axel agreed, "I know."

After they started discussing a bit more on the event, Lucien seemed quite pleased by the whole thing, regardless, most likely because he got to slap his first brother in the face like that, something which he rarely got the chance of, back in the kingdom.

Lumina said to Axel in a slightly angered tone, "Why didn’t you let me stand alongside you? Is it because I’m a girl? Do you think I’m weak?"

Axel chuckled and flicked her forehead, she was clinging too close to him, Lucien was already glaring holes in his head, she stepped back slightly and let out a cute yelp, he said to her admonishingly, "You’re not exactly weak but you’re not strong enough yet, the same goes for Vyra."

Both of the beauties snorted at that response and began to argue back.

With everything done, everyone went back on their way. Heinz and Axel were walking back together. There was a moving, transparent small sound barrier moving alongside the two of them, no one would even be able to notice it, because the two of them were about to start discussing something that should not be heard by anyone else.

"So, did you expect something like this to happen?" asked Heinz.

Axel answered dryly, "Of course not, you idiot. How could I predict something like this? But in a way, more good came out of this than bad. But I’m still unsure of who the main culprit is behind this, and what exactly they wanted to achieve."

Heinz had a thoughtful expression on his face as he answered, "Who are the main suspects of yours?"
