Axel proceeded to demonstrate this time that if he does try and modify the rune on an already engraved weapon of his own creation, it would simply dissolve into nothingness, which actually did happen right in front of everyone. He even brought out more of his engraved weapons and tried to do the same again and again a few times more, but the same happened as expected.

A terror ran through deep in the eyes of the Taser Vex, as he watched on in helplessness, he was doomed, at this point professor Alfred from high in the sky could already see who were the likely ones responsible for this incident, he shook his head in displeasure, the boy Taser was so very talented but its truly a wonder to see how jealousy can ruin a man.

The professor announced loudly, "Alright, all the other 11 runecasters of the academy, except for Axel, move into the stage, take one of the 11 engraved weapons of his each, and try to modify it as subtly as possible. And do it, don’t try anything funny, if you do, I will immediately label you as someone likely involved, and you will be dragged in for investigation."

All 11 moved into the stage, Taser hesitated somewhat, but in the end went up with no way out. At this moment, a sudden telepathic message was delivered directly into his mind. He was startled,

[Taser boy, if you’re responsible this, or in any way related, this is the last chance I will give you, speak aloud to everyone that you were behind this and you must also reveal the information later on who else were responsible for it, if you do this, I will try my best to make your punishment as less as possible, and not implicate the Vex family.]

[But if you believe you’re not responsible for this, ignore my message and continue the procedure.]

It was obviously professor Alfred who had sent the message, Taser was stunned again by the content of the telepathic message which his professor had sent him, his heart turned cold in fear, but he shook his head as denial overcame him, this....could just be a ploy to bring him out, perhaps they didn’t actually have a proper way to find out who was behind this after all. He had been very, very meticulous about this after all. How could he be identified so easily, so simply?

11 tables were set up in the stage, 11 swords and engravement pens on it, Prince Luther and his younger brother the 2nd prince and some of the prince or princesses who were all into this, had stoic expression on their faces, but their hearts grew cold in the silent and increasing tension by every second of the time.

The 11 of them picked up the rune engraving pen each, then they began to analyze and think about how to actually go about it. The first one to start tinkering was actually Lumina herself; she was genuinely trying to somehow alter the rune even though it wasn’t possible.

In the meantime, Professor Alfred had collected all malfunctioning or broken weapons of Axel, then examined all of them carefully and also listened to their complaints on how each of them was affected and such. Most amount of people seem to have experienced unhealthy mana suction and rune overload, some experienced the weapon exploding. While a small number of them had received some kind of mana backlash.

Lumina who was trying to modify the rune of the engraved weapon of Axel, suddenly jerked backwards, a heat spread from the rune, slowly the rune was breaking down, she stepped backwards and the rune became even more heated, but thankfully no explosion occurred, but the sword started to melt from the overwhelming heat, and soon the entire sword was melted on the table.

The professor asked aloud to everyone for clarification, he also warned that no one was to lie, otherwise the consequences would be even severe for trying to manipulate a serious case like this. As expected, no such scenario of a weapon being melted happened for anyone. One by one, each runecaster continued to try and modify it, different type of reaction occurred every time. None of them matched what the victim students suffered.

Only three remained, who seem to be barely trying to do anything, they were making exaggerated hand movements but Axel could tell it as easy as daylight that all three were nervous as fuck, trying to delay. Seeing that and unable to be patient anymore, the ever so friendly old rune professor of his for the first time said in an angered voice that sent chills down the spine of every single student,

"You three, you better start doing modifications right as of this moment, do not disgust me any further." his voice echoed like the screeching of a malevolent spirit on everyone’s mind as a heavy pressure descended on everyone. The power of a 4th phase Seeker was no damn joke, even Axel felt his soul and body tremble as if he was in the presence of something far superior than himself, his instincts screamed to run away. Sensing that his demon blood started to flow faster, his heartbeat slightly grew faster, and soon the foreign influence vanished.

He looked towards Lucien, the guy also felt fear at first, but he seemed to have recovered from it, even before him, Axel clicked his tongue in annoyance. His gaze shifted back to the three remaining runecasters on the stage, who were rattled and shaken by the voice of the professor like cornered cats. Anyone with two bits of intelligence could see something off about the three, from the start, how they were delaying the modification procedure of the rune. It seems those three were the most affected by the anger of the professor.

Axel looked at Prince Luther with a meaningful smile, and the same did Lucien, looking at his older step-brother with an utterly mocking gaze. The first prince kept his facial expression despite the provocation by the two of them, but they both could see the hidden anger deep in Luther’s eyes.

And things transpired as expected, when the three tried to do any modifications in it, it showed similar reactions which everyone recognized, one thing seem incredibly funny to Axel, which is that prince Luther became utterly outraged as if he was just betrayed by a friend or something, well all the students who were hurt by Axel’s weapons were furious at the three, even those who were likely the real ones responsible for this incident.

The two other runecasters, other than Taser, broke down into tears, revealing that it was actually Taser who forced them to do such a thing because of his extreme jealousy towards Axel. Taser was surprisingly calm about it, almost as if he had accepted his fate.

The professor asked Taser in silent rage, "Taser, you were the 2nd most talented in my class, why? Why did you do it?"

Taser looked towards Axel, boundless rage overflowing from him, he said,

"Because being 2nd is not enough for me, considering how overwhelming his talent is, being 2nd or last, does it make a difference?"

"First, it was because of his grandfather that my family was sidelined, now, if I let him be, would the same thing not repeat? I also hated the royal family for sidelining our family, which has been loyally serving the great kingdom, supplying it with rune-engraved weapons of great caliber used by all the powerful organizations of it for countless years without fail."
