Extraordinary Voyage-Chapter 811 - 696: Human-faced Fly
Under the dark sky, the ancient, shadowy noble castle resembled a giant beast ready to devour anyone who approached.
A wailing cry—
But at that moment, the interior of the building suddenly flared with blazing fire, accompanied by faint yet extremely shrill screams of women, sending chills down one's spine.
It wasn't long.
Even more intense pure white flames leapt out from every window of the castle, and in the midst of the flames, one could vaguely see a towering figure, nearly six feet tall, wearing a courtly gown, a "noblewoman" writhing and wailing in agony.
She looked like a pitiable woman who had been plundered by bandits and cruelly silenced afterwards.
Yet at that time, her seaweed-like thick dark green hair, as if alive, danced wildly, and despite being ignited by the Dragon Breath, easily toppled the heavy stone walls.
However, all efforts were in vain. Merely a few minutes later, the "noblewoman" was already swallowed by the sea of flames along with the illusory castle.
Step!
Watching the Evil Spirit turn to ashes with his own eyes, Aiven finally stepped out of the hellish flame, his Magic Robe flapping wildly in the hot wind, yet not a single thread was singed.
Seeing the doll appear again before him, now with a more mature and even more sinister expression, Aiven gently exhaled a sigh mixed with tiny flames:
"Want to play games? You've really picked the wrong person. Uncle here, dislikes naughty kids the most!"
Then, the scene shifted.
In this Dark Side of the world, Aiven encountered two more Evil Spirits consecutively.
On the only street lit by gas lamps in a dilapidated city, a man nearly two meters tall, in a worn-out formal suit, with a smiling face, quietly appeared behind Aiven.
From two hundred meters away, he began imitating Aiven's walking posture, and as his gait became increasingly lifelike, he started to waltz spasmodically, taking a step forward with each dance step.
When the distance narrowed to a hundred meters, the man's face suddenly turned into a crazed smile, sticking out a black tongue, and sprinting towards Aiven on tiptoe.
His speed was extreme, as if he intended to plunge headfirst into Aiven's body.
Yet under the influence of the King's Rook Castle, even as a jumping frame-like afterimage, he couldn't get close to Aiven's body; ultimately, he turned into ashes amidst the vast electric field surrounding Aiven. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
When the doll vanished from his sight for the fifth time, and a new Evil Spirit emerged, he detected a pattern to this "doll".
It always depicted that cute little girl; as she aged, her appearance grew increasingly mature and beautiful, and possessed a demonic allure that almost made it hard to look away, yet her expression turned ever more malicious.
At the same time, although the doll grew smaller, the accompanying Evil Spirits grew larger.
There was a 1.2-meter-tall little girl, a 1.5-meter-tall little boy, a 1.8-meter-tall noblewoman, and a 2-meter-tall man in formal attire.
Upon encountering the executioner, with a dirty leather hood, dragging a giant long-handled axe, who was already a monster over three meters tall.
However.
This terrifyingly styled executioner, though the largest, possessed only brute strength and was easily crushed by the massive hand of lava rising from the ground.
Nonetheless, the abilities of Evil Spirits were bizarre and varied: mind-killing, cursing, possession, immunity to physical harm... various unique special abilities, and most crucially, their undying nature!
Aiven could only temporarily kill their existing forms; as long as the core resentment sustaining the Evil Spirits persisted, they would resurrect after a while. Rather than being some kind of Spirit Body creatures, they resembled natural phenomena in the Extraordinary World akin to wind, rain, clear skies, etc.
"The Evil Spirits of the Dark Side not only possess diverse abilities but also act freely; apart from having almost no self-concept and authority, their survival capability is comparable to a weakened version of a deity, regarded as one of the most despised enemies of the Extraordinary."
However.
Aiven hadn't anticipated that his assessment of the Evil Spirits here would immediately be proven wrong.
With the disappearance of the thumbnail-sized, yet fully matured in appearance and exceptionally charming painted doll, Aiven had a premonition that the time to disrupt the doll was coming, and the true antagonist would soon appear.
The scene shifted.
In the blink of an eye, he found himself in a small town square filled with a festive atmosphere.
He didn't need to search; this time, appearing before him was not only the anticipated grown-up doll-like girl.
Surrounding them was a group of flesh-and-blood "humans," completely unlike the notorious fallen souls said to dwell within the Dark Side.
Just as Aiven was bewildered, contrary to his initial assumptions, these clearly peculiar beings didn't seem to exhibit any desire to attack.
At this moment.
Aiven, in a Wizard's Robe with a Golden Mask, stood amidst the crowd. Facing him was a breathtakingly beautiful girl in a pure white wedding dress, holding a bouquet of fresh flowers, gazing at him tenderly.
Appearing as if at a wedding scene, the couple shared an extended history, naturally asking him:
"Darling, do you think I'm beautiful? Will you marry me today?"
Her voice was melodious and pleasant.
As soon as she asked, it was as if it held Magic Power; Aiven, initially baffled and with fingers at the ready, Magic Spiritual Light flickering, prepared to strike first, gradually found a hint of infatuation in his eyes as he looked at the girl.
The girl, originally possessing enchanting allure though not enough to move him, gradually transformed into the image of his beloved fiancée, Olivia.
Clad in a modest white wedding dress, she shyly asked the same question—Would he marry her? Undoubtedly, yes!
Instinctively, Aiven was about to shout: "I will!"
However, though the surrounding crowd remained silent, the Language Universal Mask suddenly captured a non-human pheromone, stealthily transmitting an ecstatic message:
"Another one! Another one! He'll be just like us soon!"
Aiven's heart was suddenly seized with alarm, immediately snapping back to clarity. He realized that agreeing would result in something terrible happening.
Simultaneously, the beautiful girl, having experienced countless such scenarios without prior rejection, was already leaning in, preparing to kiss her "husband".
But between her rosy lips, a needle-like ghastly proboscis slowly emerged.
Regained to consciousness, Aiven raised his left hand, displaying the exquisite ring on his ring finger.
"Sorry, I already have a fiancée. Besides... you're too ugly!"
Whoosh—!
Activated the King's Rook Castle to escape the crowd, he leaped into the sky above the small town.
Viewing the bizarre creature below, her face twisted with the doll's wrath and monstrous as he realized, she not only had flesh and blood but also emotions and Wisdom normal Evil Spirits lack.
Wiping a layer of cold sweat from his forehead, the Ancient Scroll indicated this island as orange, meaning that as long as he didn't court disaster, even the deadliest enemy couldn't easily kill him.
However, despite lacking sheer strength and requiring other Evil Spirits' help to subdue or weaken their prey, her ability was too strange, nearly causing a disaster.
"Princess Teia is the most beautiful! We will forever serve the beautiful Princess!"
The "humans" nearby raised their arms fervently, shouting as if comforting the girl.
At this point, Aiven realized that the group in the town square comprised entirely of young, robust men, and all were rather handsome.
"Go! Kill him for me, for a man unwilling to be my husband has no right to live!"
The girl's words had barely fallen.
Buzz...
Amidst high-pitched wing beats, the "humans" all took to the air. Or rather, their heads flew up; their clothes fell, revealing bodies under the heads that were gigantic green flies.
[Human-faced Fly]
Simultaneously, the girl referred to as "Princess Teia" began to undergo grotesque changes.
Her stunning face became a mask-like facade, behind which stretched a bloated, grotesque worm-like body, at least five meters long, with faintly visible eggs inside the semi-transparent form.
Aiven's face turned blue at once, instantly realizing that, had he unwittingly agreed earlier, he might have allowed that monster, enamored with his allure, to devour him for mere affection, or worse, be...
"Ugh~"
It was no longer difficult to surmise what had happened to those men who had turned into [Human-faced Flies].
"Die! Die!..."
One rocket after another was hurled from Aiven's Witchcraft Garden, immediately igniting.
Whizz! Whizz! Whizz! Whizz!...
Shaking all over, Aiven disregarded cost and stock, the dazzling fiery plumes nearly illuminating the entire sky.
BOOM——!!!
Steel and flames engulfed the entire small town.
