Calmly walking through the opulent hallways of the academy with a relaxed smile on his handsome facial features, the first year cadets shuddered in fear while some watched him in awe as Derek walked past them.

It had only been three minutes since the incident that happened on the field and yet, everyone got to realize that despite their senior seemingly been a playful and mischievous individual most of the time, he was at a level of strength that many could only hope to reach.

Watching the video that was already going viral on their school’s official forum, they couldn’t help but wonder how strong exactly their senior was.

What was even more shocking to them, was the very first spell he had used immediately after retrieving his gun.

They couldn’t really understand what he did to the mana in the atmosphere from the video but by the looks of it, it was definitely his own created spell.

Walking leisurely to the end of the hall, Derek stepped into the elevators and selected the button that led to the last floor.

Though he could’ve taken the staircases as he usually would, he was already late to the meeting so he wanted to get there as soon as possible.

Eventually stepping out of the elevator, the youth walked straight to the Student Council office and without a moment wasted, opened the doors and stepped in.

The room as he had expected, was already filled with other members of the council, seated in the ornate wooden leather chairs around a wide and elegant mahogany round table, quiet chatters and conversations being exchanged between them.

Among the seat of seven, only one seat was left vacant, indicating that he was the only cadet that was yet to have arrived.

"Oh hey there Derek. You enjoy the little present I gave you?" Sophia asked with a mischievous smile as soon as Derek waltzed in.

"You little shit…" Derek directed an irritated glare at the beautiful blonde lady who was now laughing mirthfully while wiping the tiny beads of tear pooling at the sides of her eyes.

"Derek. Please take a seat so that we can begin the meeting" a smooth yet indifferent male voice flowed calmly into the youth’s ear.

-Sigh...

"Alright Blaze. It’s my bad for not coming early anyway" Derek replied to their President with a small sigh and proceeded to sit down at the empty seat present just beside Sophia’s.

"Blaze. You’re always too lenient on him you know?" a good-looking, third-year male cadet with dark-grey permed hair that was shaved on its sides, said to their President, his light-brown eyes closed and his arms folded across his chest along with a calm look on his face.

"I agree" a second-year petite lady with modern glasses framing her beautiful features which housed deep-blue eyes along with proportionally and perfectly-shaped nose and lips, agreed with the grey-haired youth’s statement, her long black-hair swaying gently as she shook her head in slight disapproval.

"Luke. Aerith. You both know we all can’t do anything about Derek’s lazy tendencies" Blaze Skylar, their Student Council President replied impassively, his indifferently cold and piercing deep blue eyes reading through a bunch of documents on his hand without raising his head, which had raven black hair that was perfectly parted on both sides to fall around his face, the exception being the small tuft that was perfectly situated in the middle of his forehead.

The last member who was presently there, a beautiful third-year cadet with short black hair and dull pink irises, along with an aloof expression on her face who went by the name of Tanya, nodded quietly without saying anything in response to Blaze’s words.

Derek just rolled his eyes at all of the actions and words of the youths before him but then, he felt Sophia lightly pulling on the fabric of his blazer

"Hey. I know you’re probably pissed about what I did, but this was very important Derek" she quietly said to him, her voice serious and barely above a whisper.

"It involves Obelisk spies and…" Sophia trailed off as she spoke.

"And?" Derek questioned quietly.

"… the Monolith spies from Flenor Islands" she gently concluded.

A small wave of bloodlust suddenly travelled across the student council room the moment those words reached Derek’s ears and instantly, Sophia squeezed his hands tightly, her gentle sea-blue eyes motioning him to calm down.

With a deep breath, Derek calmed down and reeled his bloodlust in, all while apologizing to the youths present in the room, the relaxed expression on his face completely gone and replaced by a serious one.

"I apologize for that guys. Let’s have this meeting begin immediately if you don’t mind" he respectfully said, his expression now completely solemn.

Although everyone in the council room felt the bloodlust, they were totally undisturbed by it due to the fact that as they were all quite possibly as strong as Derek and it was not the first time they had seen him lose a bit of control whenever ’The Monolith’, a dark organization similar to Obelisk but mainly situated in Flenor Islands was mentioned.

"It’s alright Derek. Let’s begin" Blaze spoke up, his attention now solely on the six cadets before him.

(A few minutes after Derek left the training field…)

"Well. I think they all learned a pretty valuable lesson" Aiden commented as he got up from the bench he was sitting on with Flynn.

The youth then stretched lazily, a small smile still on his face as he spotted Adrian and Ivar walking over from a distance, his hands slightly waving over to them.

"I told you he and Flynn would be here, didn’t I?" Ivar casually said to Adrian as they walked over to the two brothers.

"Well I’m not too surprised really. He is always looking for a form of excitement after all" the crown prince replied as a matter-of-factly.

"Hey guys" Flynn called out to both of them while checking the time on his smartwatch.

"Hmmm. Six minutes left. I can still eat a few pastries or two if I hurry on over back to the cafeteria" the youth muttered to himself.

"I have to say, I didn’t know Derek was that strong" Adrian commented as he finally reached Flynn and Aiden, his gaze drawn to the knocked out cadets who were sprawled on the training field’s grounds, a few amongst them struggling to get up.

"Well, even we never knew he was that strong until Butler Frank started training us" Aiden replied with a small smile.

"He told us one time during our many spars how Derek had learnt how to fight from his now late wife in Flenor Islands" the green, emerald-eyed youth continued explaining as he began walking away from the field and back into the academy’s building, everyone following behind.

"So, Derek mostly grew up there?" Ivar asked, to which Flynn responded.

"Yeah"

"Hmmm… that does explain why I never knew about someone like him since he didn’t grow up in Arcadia." Adrian thoughtfully said, his hands placed on his chin.

’Would’ve found a way to make connections with him…’ the red-haired prince thought to himself.

"I am quite curious though" Adrian asked again.

"What was that crazy spell that he used?"

"Ah… [Sylph’s Playground] hmm?" Aiden responded.

"It is a pretty crazy spell but then again, Derek’s a low-tier S-ranker so I’m not too surprised he had enough mana to pull it off" Aiden continued with a chuckle as Flynn took over to explain.

"You see, he made an invisible dome of wind the size of the entire field" Flynn began to explain while pointing upwards with a finger.

"And then, he maintained a continuous siphoning of all the mana within that large dome, out into the atmosphere, all while maintaining a small amount of mana for himself alone to work with" Flynn concluded with his explanation.

Adria and Ivar were a bit stunned by what they had just heard.

Didn’t that basically mean that he made awakened people very ordinary if he activated that spell while simultaneously making himself the only powerful individual within the dome!

Thinking about it more, Ivar and Adrian couldn’t help but shudder at the thought of suddenly feeling very ordinary due to a single spell.

"Well that’s busted…" Adrian finally spoke again with a grave expression on his face.

"It really is…" Flynn replied as they all reached the student center at a leisurely pace, making their way back into the academy’s magnificently opulent hallways.

Here, all four youths parted ways again as Flynn and Aiden who actually hadn’t eaten anything, briskly walked over to the cafeteria while Ivar and Adrian made their way back over to the classroom.

"So, what are we going to do about mastering the second forms of our weapon arts in preparation for clearing the fissure?" Flynn asked his brother as he added.

"At the very least, I don’t want us making the same bloody mistake as the one we did in the Crystal Caverns. We have to be completely prepared for things to go south real fast even if it’s just a D-tier ranked fissure"

"I understand Flynn. I also don’t want to take any risks" Aiden responded to Flynn’s solid reasoning.

"But then again, we have so little time master the weapon art considering the fact that we’ll probably need to clear it next week, just a few days before the award ceremony" he added with a slight frown on his features after which he then asked.

"So how can we effectively find a way to train our weapon arts for hours on end without it eating into our curricular activities?"

Following this sudden question the youth had asked himself, Flynn and Aiden contemplated for a few minutes over what they could do to train their weapon arts in the most optimal way possible within a short amount of time.

And then, as if the brightest lightbulbs were seemingly lit on their heads at the same time, Flynn and Aiden came to a realization as their eyes widened in surprise as to how they never had the idea occur to them from the very moment they had been attending the academy, all while simultaneously exclaiming to themselves.
