Exploring Technology in a Wizard World-Chapter 1324 - 1322: Observing Animals
Not sure how much time has passed.
In the darkness, a member of the Truth Society—the long-haired woman—slowly awoke.
She opened her eyes, feeling a persistent, intense pain on her forehead, trying hard to recall what happened before she fell into a coma. She felt there was a blank in her memory—one moment she was escaping and was almost successful, then in the next moment, she suddenly fainted and ended up here.
What happened?
After thinking for a while without any results, the long-haired woman decided not to waste any more time. She cautiously surveyed her surroundings, observing the environment she was in.
She could see that she was in a regular room, and with her were three unconscious men: one with a red nose, one with thin lips, and the last with a slightly tilted neck.
She recognized them as the three Sika spies who assisted her in this operation.
All useless, they got caught too.
The long-haired woman felt a surge of anger and stepped to the three men lying on the ground, violently slapping them awake.
The three Sika spies slowly woke up, taking about a minute to understand the situation.
The red-nosed man blinked, touched his nose, and said, "Did you notice... it seems like there’s no spell effect in this house, our abilities are not affected at all, in other words, we can easily leave."
As he spoke, the red-nosed man stepped towards the door.
The long-haired woman spoke out at this moment, "Foolish!"
"Hmm?" The red-nosed man stopped, a flicker of anger passing through his eyes, but he decided not to react, considering they are all "stranded in the same boat," internal strife would not bring any benefit.
Suppressing his anger, touching his nose, he looked towards the woman and asked, "Why do you say that, did you discover something?"
"Though I didn’t find anything, think about it; the other side already captured and imprisoned us here, how could they leave such a big loophole for us to easily escape?" The long-haired woman brushed her bangs aside and said, "I’m sure there’s definitely a trap at the door, leaving would only lead to a bad end."
"This!" The red-nosed man was first stunned, then shocked, "Then what should we do?"
"Don’t escape through the door, try leaving from elsewhere." The long-haired woman said, and after saying that, she flicked her long hair and walked to the window on the side wall, gently pulled it open, and tentatively reached out.
But just a few centimeters outside the window, she encountered enormous resistance, like a transparent wall barricading her.
"As expected!" The long-haired woman raised her eyebrows, "Indeed there’s a trap, even the window doesn’t work. Fine, I’ll try another spot."
After saying this, the long-haired woman flicked her hair again, walked to the side of the window, pressed her hand against the wall, and saw a large number of cracks appearing and spreading from the position she pressed.
A few seconds later, with a light sound of "crash," a circular hole over fifty centimeters in diameter appeared.
The woman immediately squeezed through the hole outside, but as soon as her head entered, it hit something solid—outside, there was also a transparent wall.
This!
The long-haired woman had no choice but to retreat, tidying her messy hair, frowning deeply as she pondered a countermeasure.
The thin-lipped man watched all this, couldn’t help but shake his head, didn’t say anything, and stepped to the door, passing the red-nosed man, he opened the door and tried to walk out.
Succeeding in one step, he spoke, "Actually... we can leave through this door."
"Hmm? Really?" The long-haired woman was surprised, unwilling to believe, and looked, as did the red-nosed man and the crooked-neck man.
"Yes." The thin-lipped man responded, taking another step outside while speaking, "You can really leave through this door... Ga!"
However, his words were abruptly cut off.
"What’s wrong?" The long-haired woman quickly asked.
"Umm..." The thin-lipped man’s body stiffened, as he backed through the door he looked at the long-haired woman and revealed the answer, "O-outside... there’s someone?"
Someone! 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Without anyone saying, the long-haired woman who had walked to the door had already seen— in the distance, a man in a gray robe sat beside a stone table, holding a quill, writing with a "scratch, scratch, scratch" sound. Upon seeing the door open, he raised his head and cast a meaningful smile in their direction.
This is?
The long-haired woman was left puzzled, not understanding the other person’s identity.
If he’s a guardian, he doesn’t look the part. But if an unrelated person, why is he here?
With this deep suspicion, the long-haired woman tentatively walked out, ready to act the moment the other person did anything dangerous.
Thus, she took one step, two steps, three steps...
When she reached the sixth step, she felt a slight resistance around her.
Upon the seventh step, the resistance increased.
By the eighth step, the resistance completely stopped her from moving forward.
The man beside the stone table looked over at this point, as if announcing something, and said slowly, "The test begins."
"Test, what test?" The long-haired woman raised her eyebrows and asked.
"A test to see if you can escape the prison I’ve set up," the man by the stone table explained indifferently.
"You locked us up here?" The long-haired woman widened her eyes.
"You could say that." The man replied, his tone still indifferent.
"Damn it!" The long-haired woman’s eyebrows shot up, without any hesitation, she raised her hand, and a burst of flames was shot directly at the man.
But the basketball-sized crimson fireball reached the stone table, it seemed to enter another dimension, disappearing into thin air without producing any effect.
The long-haired woman was shocked, and before she could figure it out, she felt the surrounding resistance suddenly increase, pushing her back into the room directly.
The man beside the stone table glanced at the long-haired woman and advised, "Don’t be rash, cooperating with my test will be beneficial to both of us."
"Oh really? I’m afraid it’s not good for you, do you know who we are?" The long-haired woman coldly threatened.
"Aren’t you the Truth Society?" the man beside the stone table said indifferently.
"You!" The long-haired woman’s eyes widened in surprise, speechless for several seconds.
On the other hand, the three Sika spies showed some confusion, looking at the long-haired woman and asking, "Is your organization called the Truth Society?"
The long-haired woman ignored them, with a hint of astonishment, stared directly at the man beside the stone table and asked, "Who are you?"
"Me?" The man by the stone table raised his eyebrows and replied calmly, "Guess."
Guess damn it!
The long-haired woman was furious, stomping her foot, she rushed out from the house again. Her entire body was enveloped in purple energy, pushing against the resistance, attempting to approach the man, clearly intending to tear him apart.
But the resistance outside the house was far greater than she imagined, even with all her strength, she remained stuck at her original position.
The man beside the stone table observed her actions for a few seconds, showing no emotional change, as if watching an animal perform. After watching, he lowered his head again and held the quill, writing on the papyrus with a "scratch, scratch, scratch" sound without revealing what he’s writing.
