Chapter 1299: Chapter 1297: Water Drop

Over a month later, on September 1st.

The beginning of autumn, the first day of the Cool Month, and also the third day since Richard moved to Grey Stone City along with the army’s command room.

In these three days, Richard had already set up his temporary research lab in his new residence and continued his research.

...

In the morning.

Grey Stone City, a former city of the Sika Kingdom, lay on the earth like a wounded, conquered beast.

You could see that all four city walls of Grey Stone City were damaged to varying degrees, with the eastern wall being the worst—blasted open with a large hole several meters in diameter, surrounded by cracked walls stretching to the city gate. The city gate on this wall was also missing, leaving a large burnt patch on the ground, where it was evaporated by a powerful wizard with high-level Fire Magic during the battle for the city.

At this moment, quite a number of people were gathered around the city gate and the damaged sections of the wall, pointing and preparing to repair the walls.

These matters had nothing to do with Richard, who was currently located within a grand mansion at the center of the city.

It was said that the mansion’s previous owner was a member of the Sika Royal Family, hence its extravagant decoration. When the city fell, this royal did not have the resolve to die for the kingdom and, under the cover of a few strong subordinates, fled without taking any belongings, leaving the mansion intact for Richard’s advantage.

Richard wasn’t particularly pleased by this, after all, he wasn’t lacking in funds and didn’t like the gaudily extravagant furniture that filled the mansion. The only thing that pleased him was the mansion’s expansive garden, which could be used for his external spell tests.

So he promptly gathered two battalions of soldiers to flatten and compress the exotic flowers and herbs in the garden, transforming it into an excellent magic testing field.

At this moment, he stood in this new magic testing field, ready to conduct a new spell test.

This spell concerned the Wind Energy Extraordinary Factor. He had the idea back in Shaya and had reached new findings after such a long time of research. Part of the credit goes to those Royal Forbidden Magic spells Oscar provided, and another part to his successful decryption of simpler Balta text, which offered some inspiration and insight from the recorded fragments.

He hoped this test would be relatively successful... if so, he could basically confirm that some of his bold ideas from the past could indeed be realized...

Richard pondered, taking a deep breath and slowly raising his hand, reaching out towards the air before him.

With a thought, energy flowed from the Energy Furnace within him, rapidly releasing to the outside world, causing a change.

"Hoo~"

A slight sound of air fluctuations occurred, with a gentle breeze blowing across the empty ground, beyond which nothing else happened.

However, Richard’s expression became serious, then turned to one of delight. He muttered, "Success... it seems to be better than expected, outside the laboratory environment, the effects can still be repeated without much fluctuation, so..."

Just as he was speaking, the "pat-pat" sound of footsteps sounded, and Richard turned his head to see Bi Bi approaching in a pair of sandal-like shoes she had found from somewhere.

As Bi Bi saw Richard raising his hand, her eyes lit up with interest, "Hey, are you testing another spell? I can help you, I really can help you."

Bi Bi was speaking as she quickly walked over, and because she was moving too fast, she kicked off both sandals halfway there.

Seeing this, Richard felt a slight headache and regretted restoring Bi Bi’s body and granting her freedom.

Initially, he thought he had some free time to guard against Bi Bi, so he restored her body. Little did he know that, although she didn’t cause trouble, her curiosity was excessive, wanting to be involved in everything and showing no sense. In Eden, despite being reprimanded by Pandora, the Witch Demon Elder, and the Eight-Armed Skeleton multiple times, she still did her own thing. She often burst out to seek attention in front of him whenever she hadn’t had enough fun in Eden.

"What’s happening? What’s happening?" Bi Bi quickly chanted as she ran over, desperately seeking attention.

Richard sighed lightly, thinking about how to dismiss her while simply explaining, "I created a barrier."

"A barrier? Where is it?"

"Just beside you, you can touch it."

"Really?" Bi Bi hesitantly reached out her hand, raising her eyebrows in surprise when she clearly felt resistance, as if a glass wall was blocking her way, despite seeing nothing.

"Hmm——" Bi Bi exclaimed, reaching around and confirming that Richard’s outstretched hand indeed touched a square meter area of barrier a few centimeters thick. The effect was clearly created by Wind Magic, but what’s surprising was how seamlessly the barrier blended with the surrounding environment, making it hard to detect without being reminded.

Bi Bi could already imagine how awful it would be to walk into such a barrier blocking her way, completely unaware and head-on.

"What on earth is this?" Bi Bi voiced.

"Do you really want to know?" Richard glanced at Bi Bi and asked.

"Of course." Bi Bi answered without hesitation, "Why wouldn’t I? What I like best is knowing unknown things, experiencing unexperienced adventures, drinking untried wines, eating uneaten foods."

"But, are you sure you’ll understand even if I explain?" Richard responded. If Pandora asked, he would have directly answered since Pandora already had some foundation. But for Bi Bi, like Pandora at the very beginning, she was a complete novice without any basic education. Even if explained, she wouldn’t comprehend.

Who knew Bi Bi was very confident, "If you don’t tell me, how would you know I don’t understand?"

"Alright then." Richard began to explain, pointing to the invisible barrier in front of them, "This is my latest research. It doesn’t seem impressive now, but due to its fundamental nature, it could potentially develop into something astonishing.

Firstly, this belongs to the domain of Extraordinary Factors, which is to say, the fundamental effects of spells. According to my hypothesis, it’s applicable to all Extraordinary Factors, but it’s most prominent under the Wind Energy Extraordinary Factor state, which is why I focused on it.

Its specific content is that through a specific combination of Extraordinary Factors, under the support of energy, a powerful force can be generated to consolidate a block of air or other material into one. This so-called consolidation is not in the conventional sense; it’s relatively more rigid, even nearly indestructible—as long as energy is supplied, it couldn’t be effectively destroyed.

It’s somewhat reminiscent of what’s described in certain books as a ’Water Drop’—a special weapon made under a strong force field with tightly bound metallic atomic nuclei, capable of destroying all advanced military forces of a civilization simply with impact—of course, what I’ve created isn’t nearly as terrifying yet, but when fully developed, who knows."

Coming to a pause, Richard looked at Bi Bi and asked, "So, did you get all that?"

Bi Bi’s gaze turned a little dull, biting one of her fingers, she murmured softly, "Extraordinary Factors... Wind Energy... Force... Consolidation... Rigid... Water Drop..."
