Tong Keke lowered her head, her clear, sparkling eyes looking at the man who subconsciously tightened his large hand around her. Though he didn’t grab her fingers but only held onto her clothes, her heart inexplicably felt sweet and warm.
Banxia was also holding tightly onto Wei Chen’s large hand as they hurriedly made their way out of the hall. When she let go of his hand in a quieter area, the man who had followed her out stood behind her, somewhat dazed, staring at his wrist where she had grabbed him.
The cuff of his dress shirt had gotten slightly wrinkled there. For someone like Wei Chen, who was known for his cleanliness and obsessive perfectionism, this sort of imperfection would usually be utterly unacceptable. Yet at this moment, he ignored it.
He only felt that the arm she had held earlier now carried a faint warmth.
"President Leng, could you help me take off this necklace? Thank you for letting it give me confidence tonight," Banxia said, her back turned to him, her voice carrying traces of gratitude.
Wei Chen watched as she swept her long hair to one side, revealing a portion of her snow-white, graceful neck. His Adam’s apple moved abruptly.
Did this woman even realize how seductive that simple motion of hers, while turning her back to fix her hair, had been just now?
The faint fragrance she stirred up further deepened the intensity in Wei Chen’s gaze.
He almost wanted to lean in and kiss her right there, imagining her tender, soft skin—he could only assume the feeling would be exquisite.
"President Leng..." Banxia called out softly when she noticed his delayed response.
Wei Chen snapped out of his trance, realizing just how improper and disgraceful his thoughts had been moments ago.
He felt a hint of self-loathing, then moved his hands gently to undo the necklace.
"Let me take you home," Wei Chen offered quietly out of concern. It was late, and she was dressed in such an alluring outfit—he couldn’t be at ease letting her go out on her own.
Banxia shook her head. "No need to, but could I trouble you to go downstairs and open your car door for me? I want to change out of this outfit."
Wei Chen recognized that his suggestion to drive her home might have been too abrupt and knew she would decline.
"Alright, I’ll accompany you downstairs," Wei Chen replied. He had personally driven here and hadn’t brought a chauffeur, though there were two cars with bodyguards following his own vehicle.
Originally, he could have simply sent one of his bodyguards downstairs to open the car door, but he didn’t want to pass up this opportunity.
Once downstairs, he opened the car door, allowing Banxia to retrieve her clothes. "Wait for me here for a moment; I’ll go to the restroom to change out of these clothes and return them to you," she said.
"These clothes are not expensive. Just keep them. Didn’t you mention you rarely have occasions to wear something like this? Think of it as my thanks for accompanying me tonight," Wei Chen said sincerely.
Seeing his earnestness, Banxia could only respond gratefully, "Then, I’ll thank you! You can head back upstairs; I’ll change and hail a cab to go home. And thank you again for tonight."
"Be careful on the way. Will you come back to work tomorrow?" Wei Chen asked, his concern evident.

Banxia stepped inside and headed directly toward the ladies’ restroom.
Although there was no one around, the lighting remained bright. Being a luxurious, high-end hotel, the cleanliness and environment were exceptionally well-maintained.
