Eternal Thief-Chapter 1576: Start of Evernight Trial! (11)
Ace clearly felt that inspection power easily entered his inner world, which was completely unusual, for previously, every time something like this happened, the system was the first one to act and stop such powers.
However, today the system didn’t react at all, as if it no longer cared about the system’s concern about whether this power would detect the truth about his foundation. But at this moment, Ace felt the Grand Mirror Phantom Scripture suddenly consume two units of his force!
’Wait, this...’
Realization dawned on Ace at that moment.
"Age requirement verified!" Ace was startled when an ethereal voice, neither male nor female, declared.
’The three prerequisites! So that’s what’s going on!’ Ace felt his chest loosen slightly and no longer worried.
He was also able to understand why the system didn’t bother to react at all, and the strange movement of the Grand Mirror Phantom Scripture.
’System knew the Grand Mirror Phantom Scripture was fully capable of fooling this inspection power, and here I was worried the Mirror Embryo wouldn’t be able to handle it because it was still in the first stage of the scripture.
’Yet, this Grand Mirror Phantom Scripture seemed to have a mind of its own. I guess Force Techniques are more mysterious than I thought, and the system is well aware of it!’
Ace’s eyes flickered as he was completely relaxed except for the fact that the system almost frightened him for no reason. Nonetheless, he no longer worried, nor did he try to obstruct the Grand Mirror Phantom Scripture.
At that moment, the second light followed, deep abyssal black, threaded with crimson law, and it again probed his being without any restriction.
It lingered longer, peeling through layers of cultivation, essence, and the foundation of the realm.
"Cultivation requirement verified.
"9-Star Abyssal Master Realm... exceeds minimum threshold!"
Ace exhaled quietly before the third light, golden-red, sharper, and more precise. It pierced deeper than the others, brushing against techniques, hidden structures, and even fragments of laws.
Ace’s heart tightened subtly because this felt like the dangerous one. But the Mirror Embryo seemed to tremble slightly before all of his force seemed to be exhausted when the light swept across his meridians and his physique!
But it did not react or pause as it passed through, as if it were nothing worth noting.
"Participant passes identity verification!"
Ace nearly laughed in relief when it didn’t detect anything as expected, and for a heartbeat, everything stilled. He relaxed, assuming the process was complete, before his eyes narrowed when he thought about the last announcement about ’identity’.
Just as he thought about it, the voice sounded again, but its tone changed subtly...
"Disciple of the Moonless Wandering King," it declared.
Under Ace’s astonishment, the voice continued...
"Nomad has been entered!"
The surrounding space trembled faintly at that moment.
"You have been granted a special Evernight Invitation by the Evernight Council!"
Ace’s pupils shrank behind his disguise because the word ’special’ brought him no joy; instead, he became warier, especially after the whole changes in the Evernight Trial!
"You are hereby appointed as the Lone Hunter!"
’Long Hunter? What does this mean?’
Before he could react or even curse inwardly, space split open before him, and thereafter, a ring manifested.
Crimson metal, ancient and heavy with authority. Its surface was etched with intricate patterns forming a crescent moon, and at the heart of that moon was a black eye carved so vividly it felt alive.
Ace quickly recognized that symbol of the crimson moon with the watching eye, for that was the hallmark of the Evernight Council.
The ring shot forward and slammed into his palm, and Ace barely had time to register its weight before the voice continued, relentless and absolute.
"This ring is essential to the Evernight Trial.
"All participants must protect their rings.
"All trial information, updates, and decrees shall be transmitted through them!"
After a vague explanation and without waiting for Ace to even open his mouth, the space twisted again violently, and the world was torn apart.
The next moment, he was thrown out of that mysterious space without any further inquiry, and the only relief was that his disguise and fake identity remained intact.
At this moment, Ace’s figure materialized midair and dropped hard onto cracked black earth, and he quickly stabilized himself and landed on his feet instantly into a guarded stance while he was clutching that ring in his fist.
However, Ace quickly discovered that he wasn’t in imminent danger, but a frown appeared on his face when he discovered the world around him was wrong.
A vast, gloomy wasteland stretched endlessly in every direction. Jagged canyons carved the land like open wounds, plunging into shadowed depths where no light reached.
Broken armor littered the ground, rusted and shattered beyond recognition. Weapons lay half-buried in dust and dried blood, their once-proud auras long extinguished.
The sky above was dim and fractured, streaked with dull crimson clouds that drifted like old scars refusing to heal. An oppressive silence clung to the land, broken only by distant, hollow winds howling through the canyons like mourning ghosts.
But it was still the tip of the iceberg because at this moment, Ace’s pupils dilated when he saw fragments of bones everywhere. Moreover, these bones weren’t fresh or ancient, as it seemed like a layered graveyard of countless cycles.
’This place reeks of death and slaughter...’ Ace thought with a solemn expression as he slowly straightened, his grip tightening around the crimson ring still warm in his palm.
’Don’t tell me this is a battlefield? Just what is the council planning?’ Ace thought with a grave expression on his face.
The next moment, without wasting time, he quickly opened the live fate map to see what kind of terrain he had been sent to and if he could find some clues or opportunities.
But when the live fate map was opened, he was startled because the entire map was dyed in crimson color, which means this place poses some degree of danger!
Moreover, Ace saw he was alone in the domain of the live fate map, which meant Eva had been sent somewhere else, and since this place posed a danger even to him, Eva would be in danger as well.
Ace could use the Ring of Endearment to sense Eva’s general location, since they can’t use their mental connection after separating within a certain range, but he knew another, more effective method to contact her.
Without hesitation, he opened the house call and was about to contact when, all of a sudden, the ring in his palm lit up with an ethereal light!
