Eternal Love: The Billionaire's Relentless Pursuit-Chapter 241 - 234: Two Days and One Night Part 3
"He’s not my husband!"
"He’s not her husband!"
As soon as the tour guide finished speaking, two voices—one male and one female—immediately echoed.
For a moment, the scene became somewhat awkward. Leng Yichen’s face darkened when he heard the tour guide mistakenly think that Qiao Jie was Bai Yiran’s husband. He somewhat understood the purpose behind Qiao Jie’s arrangement of this trip, but the identity of Bai Yiran’s husband could only belong to him.
Qiao Jie shook his head with a bit of helplessness, "I’m not her husband."
The tour guide found herself in a bit of a dilemma. It was her previous oversight in not doing proper headcount and assuming the room arrangements—couples sharing a room, sisters or friends sharing a room. Bai Yiran couldn’t share a room with Qiao Jie, nor with Leng Yichen, let alone with any other man.
For a moment, finding where Bai Yiran would stay became a problem.
Two female students grew a bit impatient, "Just stay wherever for one night, what’s the fuss? It’s not like you don’t know each other!"
They were referring to Bai Yiran and Qiao Jie because the room issue involving Bai Yiran also prevented them from returning to their room to rest. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Leng Yichen glanced at the two female students, turned around, and went to the front desk to get a separate room for Bai Yiran, only to be told by the hotel that there were no rooms available.
In the end, there was no other option. A middle-aged couple agreed to sleep separately, allowing Bai Yiran and the wife to share a room, Qiao Jie with the husband, and Leng Yichen with a single man.
This night, it was certain that these three wouldn’t sleep well.
After taking a shower, Bai Yiran lay on the bed early. There came a knock on the door from outside, and the auntie sharing the room smiled awkwardly at Bai Yiran, "It must be my husband."
The auntie said this as she went to open the door, and sure enough, her husband was standing outside. They talked for quite a while at the door, and Bai Yiran, unable to sleep, quietly listened to their conversation.
Though the couple’s conversation was calm, it was imbued with infinite sweetness and the tacit understanding accumulated over the years.
After a while, the husband left reluctantly.
The auntie returned, saw Bai Yiran was looking at her with open eyes, and smiled sheepishly, "Did we disturb you? I’m really sorry. We haven’t slept apart in a long time; he’s not used to it, and honestly, I’m not either..."
"I’m sorry, it’s my fault for making you sleep separately." Bai Yiran felt a bit embarrassed.
"It’s okay! It’s not your fault!" The auntie smiled.
Since she couldn’t sleep anyway, Bai Yiran started chatting with the auntie, "Auntie, how long have you been married?"
"Thirty-five years."
"Thirty-five years and still so loving. You two are truly blessed."
The auntie smiled, her lips pursed. Even at this age, thinking of her husband still made her feel sweet, "Don’t laugh at me. My husband and I were introduced by our families. When we first got married, there wasn’t much affection; we just married because it was time. Initially, I thought that was how it would always be, but gradually, I saw many virtues in him and found myself drawn to him. We were probably what you’d call married first, then fell in love later. We’ve also had our arguments and disagreements, gone through ups and downs for so many years, yet grew more inseparable. Honestly, it doesn’t matter how you get together; what matters is marrying the right person."
Bai Yiran looked at the auntie, pursed her lips into a smile, then lowered her head, not continuing this deliberate conversation.
She took out her phone and sent a message to Qiao Jie.
In Leng Yichen’s room, Qiao Jie’s phone chimed. He checked the message and shook his head with a smile, "Looks like I’ve underestimated your little wife."
"Hmm?" Leng Yichen took Qiao Jie’s phone and glanced at it.
It was a message from Bai Yiran: Thank you for ’thoughtfully’ arranging this trip for me!
After setting the phone aside, Bai Yiran lay back down and had a good night’s sleep...
The next day, this two-day, one-night journey came to an end.
Everyone started queuing up to get on the bus. The female students excitedly boarded, ready to sit beside Leng Yichen, only to find the seat next to him was already occupied.
"Excuse me! This is my seat!" The female student, displeased, looked at the woman occupying her spot.
Bai Yiran looked up at the female student, pointed at Leng Yichen beside her, "Sorry, he’s my husband!"
