Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Silas Prescott Casts a Meaningful Look at Chloe Nash

Hearing these words, Stella Sterling’s legs went weak from fear, and she nearly collapsed to the ground.

She saw something in Silas Prescott’s eyes that she had never seen before.

That calm kind of madness was even more terrifying.

This side of Silas Prescott felt so unfamiliar to her.

She had always thought of him as gentle and refined, reserved and self-controlled, her ideal partner.

But she had never known that he had such a dangerously unhinged side.

Tears streamed down Stella’s face in an instant, and she sobbed as she pleaded, "Brother Silas, my mom was wrong for kidnapping Chloe Nash, but Chloe’s okay now, isn’t she? Do you really have to kill my mom?"

At her words, the coldness in Silas Prescott’s eyes grew even more intense: "Chloe’s all right because I found her in time. If someone else had been searching, she would have died a long time ago. You’re sitting here crying—if I were you, I’d hurry up and go find your mom. Wait any longer and I’m worried the snakes will have finished her off."

Stella Sterling trembled all over at these words, scared out of her mind.

Crying, she ran out of the hospital room.

Henry Prescott clenched his fists in anger: "Silas Prescott, what you’re doing is illegal. If anything happens to Mrs. Sterling, I won’t protect you."

Silas Prescott looked at him with cold indifference: "Back when something happened to me, I didn’t see you this frantic. If you’d cared about me at all, I wouldn’t have almost died. Now you’re saying all this for a complete outsider. Mr. Prescott, don’t you think that’s laughable?" 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

This incident had always been a thorn in Silas Prescott’s heart—he could never forget the moment his plea for help was rejected by his father. The chilling words were like a knife stabbing deep into Silas’s chest.

Even now, the memory still hurt faintly.

Henry saw that he was immune to both softness and force, and bit down hard on his teeth: "Don’t think that just because you’re running the Prescott Family now, I can’t do anything to you. I can pull you down from that position anytime."

Silas Prescott raised an eyebrow, completely unfazed: "Go ahead, I’m waiting."

Henry Prescott was furious enough to burst a blood vessel. He shot Chloe Nash a vicious glare before turning to leave.

The room fell back to quiet.

Chloe Nash hurried to scoop Julian Prescott up into her arms, asking worriedly, "Julian, where did you get hurt?"

Julian shook his head, his bright black eyes blinking as he looked at Chloe.

His voice was small and soft: "Mommy protected me, so I’m happy."

Chloe leaned down and kissed his forehead: "You are Mommy’s treasure—who else would I protect if not you?"

Julian blinked his big eyes at Silas Prescott: "Mommy is Daddy’s treasure, so Daddy protects Mommy."

Hearing this, Silas Prescott smiled and knocked gently on his head: "Your logic is spot on—Daddy will reward you with a toy."

"Love Daddy, love Mommy."

Chloe Nash was about to explain to Julian that she and his dad weren’t that close.

But before she could speak, Silas Prescott’s low, husky voice sounded in her ear.

"Dr. Nash, do you actually believe a lie told to a kid? Or do you secretly have a crush on me, and now my son’s called you out, you’re embarrassed?"

Chloe: What kind of eyes does he have to think she has a crush on him? She can’t even avoid him fast enough.

She drooped her lashes and said, "Mr. Prescott, narcissism is a sickness too—you should get it treated."

Silas Prescott smiled with a touch of mischief, "First you curse my brain, now you call me narcissistic. Is Dr. Nash trying this hard to make me your patient? If you want, I wouldn’t mind getting sick just for you."

When he spoke, he was leaning down, right next to Chloe’s ear.

His warm breath and low magnetic voice made Chloe’s ears tingle.

She immediately drew back, speaking seriously: "Silas Prescott, stop fooling around. Are you sure the Sterling Family will find Mrs. Sterling?"

Silas nodded, quite certain: "Don’t worry. She won’t die, but she definitely got a good scare. She dared to mess with you, so she should be ready for some payback."

Chloe finally sighed in relief, "Thank you for everything you did for me. I’m okay now—I’ll be discharged soon. When we get home, let me treat you and Julian to dinner."

"Okay. I want you to cook for me yourself."

The way he said it was both flirty and deep, and Chloe couldn’t help but remember the time she and Silas Prescott were together.

He was always saying how he wanted to eat food made by Sienna herself.

But when she happily went to the kitchen to cook for him, somehow the meal never got made—they ended up doing other things instead.

Thinking of that, Chloe’s cheeks flushed a bit. She nodded in agreement and turned to pack up her things.

Just then, Silas Prescott’s phone rang.

"Silas, the taxi driver woke up. He’s in room 312 on the third floor at General Hospital. Go ask him what the girl he drove that day looked like exactly."

Silas hung up the phone and looked at Chloe Nash with meaningful eyes.
