Entangled in the Night: Unable to Escape Him-Chapter 177: Call Her Sister
Owen Paxton walked into the hospital room and saw Silas Prescott sitting on the balcony, lost in thought.
He excitedly approached and looked him up and down, "President Prescott, when did you wake up? Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?"
Just as he was about to support Silas’s arm, Silas pushed him away.
With vigilance in his eyes, he glared at him, "Don’t touch me."
Owen thought Silas was blaming him for failing to protect him, and quickly lowered his head to apologize, "President Prescott, I’m sorry, it’s my fault for being useless and letting you get so severely injured. As long as you’re okay, I’ll accept any punishment."
Silas still ignored him, his dark eyes filled with anger.
Owen was so frightened that sweat broke out on his forehead, "President Prescott, I’ve already broken Stella Sterling’s legs and tied her on the deck for so long. Her legs are ruined, and even if they heal, she’ll have a disability. She’s now under police control and will be arrested once her injuries improve. I assure you, I won’t let her get away.
As for Damien Prescott, I know he’s the mastermind, but he has compromising photos of Stella Sterling, so she doesn’t dare to betray him.
Anyway, it’s my negligence, letting you get so severely injured is my fault. Once this is over, you can punish me however you like."
Owen’s attitude was sincere, almost to the point of kneeling before Silas.
Nonetheless, Silas remained silent.
Those deep black eyes kept scrutinizing him.
Every glance felt like an examination, even like a slow torment.
This made Owen even more nervous, as he wiped the sweat off his forehead and said submissively, "President Prescott, just tell me how you want to punish me. Even if it means death, I have no complaints."
Just then, the door to the hospital room opened, and Sienna Paxton walked in carrying a meal.
Silas immediately moved towards Sienna as if he had seen a savior.
The coldness in his eyes instantly turned gentle when he looked at Sienna.
He grabbed Sienna’s fingers, gently shaking them, as obedient as a little puppy.
"I listened to you and took the medicine."
Having been accustomed to Silas’s domineering and obsessive nature, Sienna was somewhat unprepared for his change to such compliance.
She smiled and patted Silas’s hand, "Good boy, I’ll reward you with a big drumstick later."
Like a student praised by a teacher, Silas’s face showed an unusual excitement.
He pointed at Owen and said, "He talked to me for ages just now, and I didn’t even reveal my amnesia. Wasn’t I very obedient?"
Sienna almost wanted to say, wasn’t saying that already revealing it?
But she couldn’t demand too much; Silas was now just a ten-year-old child with a simple mind.
Besides, Owen was Silas’s most competent assistant, and there was no need to hide it from him.
Sienna nodded, "Yes, very good. I got you some barbecued pork rice. Go ahead and eat it."
Silas took the meal from Sienna’s hands, looking at her with tenderness, "Will you eat with me?"
"I’ll talk to Assistant Paxton for a bit. You start eating first."
"Then I’ll wait for you to eat together. You don’t abandon me, and I won’t abandon you. We must love and care for each other like a family."
Hearing this, Sienna felt a bit of a pang in her heart.
How much pain did Silas endure back then to become so obsessive?
He always yearned for family love, but his biological parents caused him great harm.
Just thinking about it makes one feel heartache.
Sienna smiled at him, "Okay, sit on the bed for a while. I’ll be right over."
Silas obediently sat on the bed, keeping his eyes fixed on Sienna, never looking away.
Witnessing this scene, Owen didn’t know how to describe his feelings. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Their usually resolute president was now as gentle as a kitten.
He looked at Sienna incredulously, "President Prescott doesn’t remember me; has he lost his memory?"
Sienna nodded, "Not completely. His memory has only returned to when he was ten years old, forgetting everything after that. With the Prescott family in chaos now, this mustn’t be known to the other shareholders. Otherwise, those who supported Silas before might switch sides, and Silas won’t be able to retain his position as president."
Owen’s expression was somewhat tense, taking a long time to recover.
"Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone. I’ll handle the work for the group, but Damien is becoming increasingly rampant, having already swayed several shareholders to his side. They’re holding onto the betting agreement with President Prescott, trying to pull him down. The only way out now is to revive that project; otherwise, President Prescott will be burdened with a debt of billions. However, the only person who could help him has been swayed by Damien, and now with President Prescott’s amnesia, I’m afraid I can’t hold on."
Sienna naturally knew how difficult things were now.
If Silas were well, there might still be a chance for a comeback. But given his current state, he couldn’t even protect himself, let alone revive the company.
She said firmly, "If we lose the company president, so be it. As long as we’re alive, that’s what matters. Our priority now is to ensure his and Grandpa’s safety. I’m worried that if Damien’s group finds out about his amnesia, they’ll harm him."
"I’ll have people protect him and do whatever it takes to hold on until the end. The question is, when will President Prescott regain his memory?"
"That’s hard to say, it could be a month, a year, or worst, a lifetime."
Upon hearing this, Owen shook his head helplessly, "I hope President Prescott recovers soon. I brought these documents for him to sign, but now I can only take them to the old man."
Owen looked sympathetically at Silas, sighed, and turned to leave.
As soon as he left, Silas immediately went to Sienna, took her hand, and said, "That guy’s so annoying, talking to you for so long. Our meal’s getting cold."
Sienna looked up at him, "Did you hear what we were talking about just now?"
Silas took out an earphone from his ear, "I was listening to music just now. I didn’t hear what you were talking about. Were you speaking ill of me?"
His eyes were clear as water, his emotions extremely steady.
If he had heard their conversation, even with memory loss, he wouldn’t be so calm.
Sienna gently said, "No, we were just discussing company matters for you to handle. You need to get better soon to share Grandpa’s burden, okay?"
Silas nodded, "Okay, I understand. Let’s eat, the food’s getting cold."
He picked up a piece of meat and brought it to Sienna’s mouth, watching her with sincere eyes, "Sister, you’ve worked hard taking care of me. This piece of meat is for you."
Being called ’sister’ by a man who used to force her around gave Sienna goosebumps.
She suddenly recalled how, when she was with Silas, he always liked her to call him brother.
Every time she called him that, his actions would become more intense.
Sienna was bullied terribly, crying while she said, "Silas Prescott, one day, I’ll make you kneel and call me sister."
Silas would laugh dismissively, nibbling on her ear, "Sienna, for me to call you sister, I’d have to lose my memory."
Remembering this, Sienna couldn’t help but shiver.
If it weren’t for Caleb Langdon’s test report, she might suspect Silas of faking his amnesia.
