Chapter 187: Ryn’s Second Hand Embarrassment

Ryn wanted to die. Truly, she saw no other option in that moment as she looked at her friend’s face and then at the open bag lying on the table between them.

Prince Zen was really too much. She should have checked what he had prepared instead of bringing it here directly. She should never have thought that giving him privacy was the "polite" thing to do. What privacy? What polite? Look where that had gotten her now.

Even she, a grown Omega who had spent most of her time without a mate, did not recognize half of the things sitting in that neat black kit. She only had her trusted dildo at home to help her with her heat period. And that seemed to be enough...

But here, Prince Zen had set up an entire buffet of things. She had only seen some of these things in passing and others in those erotic books. And even then, it had always been theory, not... this.

And judging by Emira’s face she probably did not recognize any of them.

Ryn swallowed. Hard.

She could not even pretend to be calm. The items were right there, staring back at them. Why would Prince Zen know these things?

Then she shook her head. Their Prince was known to be promiscuous, so him knowing these things should not be surprising... But why did he have to give them as a gift. A dildo, a bottle of lube should have been okay as well.

"Ryn. What is this?" Emira asked slowly trying to keep her voice as calm and unaffected as possible. Though judging from the flesh-colored thing and its shape and size, she already had a very good idea what it was.

Her fingers did not move, but her eyes stayed fixed on it as if it might start crawling on its own.

She felt Ryn reach out and pat her back a little stiffly, like someone comforting a person holding a wild animal. "It’s... an Omega care kit. For single Omegas like us. Your heat period is approaching soon, and since you’ll be going through it alone this time..."

Her voice trailed off. Emira raised an eyebrow. An Omega care kit" That sounded so innocent, gentle and helpful. The contents, on the other hand, did not look innocent or gentle.

She took a slow breath and reached into the bag, picking up the item like someone lifting a weapon. She inspected it from different angles without saying anything.

"...What is this?" she asked again, quieter this time.

Ryn grimaced. And Her entire face twisted. She looked anywhere except at the object in Emira’s hand.

Even though she knew exactly what it was, she did not explain. How was she supposed to explain a tongue licker anyway? Instead, she lifted both hands and pointed vaguely inside the bag. "Emira. There are instruction sheets inside. You can... read them... and discover the functions of each tool. Okay? At your own pace."

She swallowed and forced her tone to stay steady. "And this house—" she gestured around them, "-is where you’ll stay for the next few days. I’ll wait outside for now so that we can go back and bring whatever you need. Look around and make a list of what you might need."

Emira slowly set the item back down and watched Ryn run away...as she realized something that she had neglected. She needed to move out.

Of course she would need to. With the way the three Alphas were avoiding her they would definitely not be able help her through her heat. And she didn’t even want them to, she reminded herself acridly before glancing at the items in the bag again. She’d explore them later... She looked around the house once and then walked out.

It was time to move out of Prince Kael’s house. It was good actually, even though she felt the bitterness arising within her as she tried to tell herself that once the heat had passed she would move to the Omega lodgings. Since she’d have already moved away, she wouldn;t need to explain anything...

Once outside, she looked at her smiling friend and said softly, "Thank you, Ryn. Thank you for thinking of me... for preparing all this."

"It’s... nothing, really. I mean, it’s just something to help. You know, so you don’t... struggle too much alone. That’s all."

Ryn hesitated for a beat, looped their arms again and then gestured vaguely at the trees behind them "Oh, and... there’s something you need to know about getting here. These are the three trees in a line, their trunks twisted together almost like they’ve grown into one. See that? You follow around them, and you’ll find this place. It’s hidden well enough so no one stumbles across it by accident. Okay?"

"This place is really like a hidden gem, isn’t it?" Emira asked with a smile as she cocked her head," I... I almost forgot everything else with all the mating ceremony preparations ongoing. My heat... I hadn’t even thought of preparing for it. And this house... You remembered it all. Ryn. I hope you won’t get into trouble for this... Are you sure it is okay to use this place?"

"Of course its okay. Why would the Princes mind when they prepared everything...."

Her words caught in her throat, and she froze, a guilty, panicked look flashing across her face. And then, before she could think to question Ryn, the girl quickly let go and stepped back," I’ll see you tomorrow Emira. I just remembered that I had a meeting. Bye!!"

With that, she raced away from the place as if she was being chased by hunters, leaving Emira frozen in place. The Princes had prepared everything... She felt a warm tendril of hope... Did they care for her? But in the next moment, she squashed it ruthlessly. No. They had prepared everything because they probably wanted her to move out of the house. And they had use Ryn so that she would not create a fuss...
