Chapter 929: Chapter 44: Expanding the Star Map (3)

"Who is he?"

"You might not believe it."

Hill raised his voice, "Tell me!"

The young man hesitated for a moment, then continued.

"The Devil, he’s a Devil."

"Devil..."

Hill seemed confused, then the young man added again, "To be precise, he borrowed the body of the Chosen One, allowing him to freely act in the mortal world."

"Now his power is sealed within a mortal’s body, this is the best time to hunt him."

Hill ignored the young man’s words, filled with curiosity, he asked.

"Those thunderstorms... Is that your power, are you a Celestial God?"

"Celestial God?"

The young man seemed to hear a joke, he shook his head, "I’m no Celestial God, as for those thunderstorms..."

Intricate light tracks extended on the young man’s arm, thunderlight rolled in his eyes, "This is an extraordinary technology called the Alchemy Matrix."

Hill gazed at the dazzling brilliance, he knew only such power could kill those frenzied evil.

"Do you want it?" The young man chuckled, "I can teach you, I happen to need an apprentice."

Hill stared at the young man’s face, as if exhausting all his strength, he nodded imploringly.

He introduced himself, "Hill... My name is Hill."

The young man smiled and extended his hand towards Hill, announcing his own name.

"Wolfgang Gold."

The scene froze, fissures crossed the figures of several people, then shattered, and from the cracks burst forth a blazing white flame, like a collapsing curtain, revealing a real scene.

Bologue let out a suppressed wail, his body reflected flowing brilliance, trying his best to reach out and grab something, the cold texture filled his palm.

The heavy anchor was near, as Bologue was dragged into the Daylight Core, he grabbed it, briefly entered the Daylight Core, then was pulled out by the anchor, thus escaping from that bizarre memory.

The enmeshment thought it trapped Bologue, after briefly entering the Daylight Core, the taut enmeshment loosened, Bologue grabbed the anchor and began to move away from the Daylight Core.

Turning back, the Daylight Core was the endpoint of all the swirling phantoms, Bologue saw one phantom after another enter the Daylight Core, he speculated it was not only the end of the Secret Source, but also a collection of countless souls returning to the Secret Source, an immense memory bank spanning human history.

Bologue felt deeply shocked by this, the shock was not only from Hill and the Devil’s story, but also from the final revelation of his memory, the spoken name.

Wolfgang Gold.

Bologue remembered this name, it was written in the "Dawn Oath," the witness’s name.

No extra time was given for Bologue to think, the anchor dragged Bologue away from the storm, at the storm’s edge, pitch-black tar also stirred up horrifying waves, igniting an unbearable radiance.

The heavy anchor smashed Bologue towards the other end of the Ethereal Realm, behind the Daylight Core growing restless, it sensed Bologue’s escape, many enmeshments cast out aurora trails, closely pursuing Bologue.

Aside from placing all his hopes on the anchor, Bologue could do nothing at this moment, just as the enmeshment was about to close in on Bologue, a cord of pitch-black umbilical cords pierced in, shadows also wished to grasp Bologue.

The entire Ethereal Realm seemed like a battlefield where blazing white storms and shadows fought viciously, for thousands of years, due to all kinds of harsh restrictions, hardly anyone could possess a complete projection here, until Bologue’s arrival, they aimed for some unknown purpose to hunt down Bologue.

Those who sunk during ascension, the lost ones, might they also have their consciousness completely obliterated during such hunts, never waking again?

When ascending as a Negative Power User, Mamo spoke of the bizarre dreamscape, might it not also be intertwined with the phantoms’ memories?

Comparing various precedents, Bologue was truly too special, the umbilical cords and enmeshments were very tight, the projection within the Ethereal Realm was more solid than anyone, Bologue could see more, hear more, just like directly facing the mysterious Spiritual Vision.

A glimmer appeared in Bologue’s sight, amid the battle with the umbilical cords, one slender enmeshment broke through the encirclement, it was slender like a soft strand of hair, almost the instant Bologue perceived it, it had already arrived before him.

The strand brushed against Bologue’s cheek, directly from the Daylight Core chaotic illusions played before Bologue’s eyes, overlapping with various peculiar phenomena within the Ethereal Realm.

Bologue saw a deep dark hall, heard a solemn sacred chant from afar, many scholars clad in white robes surrounded beneath the high platform, lowering their heads reverently, then a man in a red robe walked among them.

The man ascended the long steps onto the high platform, at the top of the hall, beneath the Dome, arrays of celestial spheres of varied sizes arranged, the star rings orbiting, the blazing white Daylight sphere located at the center of this artificial constellation.

"We will crown you here."

Bologue heard the deep, hoarse whisper, the scholars repeated this sentence together.

The man bathed in pure light, lowered his head, just then a crown of gold and silver was placed upon him.

"Injured too grievously to live, precious too much to die."

The man murmured softly, akin to talking in a dream.

He wore the holy crown, straightened his posture, raised his head.

The man stared at Bologue, as if his gaze crossed time and space, meeting Bologue’s eyes, Bologue wanted to see his face clearly, but a glow veiled his countenance.

Bologue knew who he was, although he did not know his name, was unclear of his appearance, but a voice seemed to whisper faintly, calling out his name.

"King Solomon..."

Bologue murmured, then a suppressed sinister laughter echoed beside him, Bologue turned his gaze, a face he never could have imagined appeared beside him.

The man wore a sinister smile, clad in a black robe, holding a hand-staff inlayed with gems.

It was the Devil who appeared in Hill’s memory.

Bologue momentarily felt dazed, quickly realizing this Devil was not a real entity, but an apparition within the memory, while the crowned man, King Solomon, his gaze was not turning through time to look at himself, but toward the Devil witnessing his coronation.

Vast information exploded in Bologue’s mind, he knew King Solomon was once the Chosen One, so this Devil throughout Hill’s memory could be the Devil behind King Solomon?

Bologue didn’t have time to ponder these, he noticed a gaze landing on himself, then Bologue clearly noted, within the memory illusion, King Solomon was staring at him.

This time Bologue could be sure, he was indeed looking at himself, piercing through the barriers of time and space.

"What are you watching?"

The ghostly figure ascended the high platform, the man followed King Solomon’s gaze, apart from a murky darkness, he found nothing.

King Solomon merely chuckled, casually replied, "Nothing."

He then spoke.

"Let us forge the New World."

King Solomon lifted his head, as the tidal flow of Ether infused the artificial star map shone brightly.
