Endless Debt-Chapter 823 - 271: The Great Rescue from Within the Story (Part 2)
The area where Ewen and Muse coexist seemed to become an inviolable sanctuary, they are at the core of the story, yet stand independent of the narrative.
The thick smell of blood mixed with a violent killing intent came from the pitch-black doorway, a figure spun mid-air and landed, driving the pitch-black Blade into the ground, dragging it several meters before stabilizing the figure.
"Is everything going smoothly, Ewen?"
Bologue glanced at Ewen, then scanned Muse.
Bologue had always been curious, what kind of woman could enchant Ewen like this? Would she possess mesmerizing beauty? A sacred and untouchable aura, or perhaps cunning means adept at manipulating people’s hearts?
After seeing Muse up close, Bologue realized all his guesses were wrong. To him, she was an extremely ordinary woman; she lacked a striking physique and captivating appearance. She was as plain as many others, with only her beautiful gem-like eyes being exceptional.
Bologue knew that she was just an ordinary and plain woman, but in Ewen’s eyes, she was special, sacred.
Ewen had sanctified her, from that point, she shone brightly.
Before Ewen could respond, a slender Whip Blade emerged from the darkness, Bologue deftly dodged, and immediately the ground he was standing on was shattered by the sharp Blade, leaving shocking scars.
The sound of flesh and rubble being crushed echoed, like an earthquake, the magic library shook violently, a hideous and frightful head resembling a wolf emerged from the door, opening its wide mouth, filled with dense sharp teeth that extended all the way to its throat, resembling overlapping blades of a meat grinder.
"You better hurry, Ewen."
Bologue instructed and then charged toward the Wolf-headed Demon; due to the building’s constraints, the creature couldn’t fully enter the magic library.
Palmer and Aimou tried hard to grapple with the creature, attempting to catch its attention. When Bologue returned to the battle, both sighed in relief.
Bologue jumped high, a deadly bite like descending pitch-black Thunder; simultaneously, the Wolf-headed Demon opened its mouth, scarlet eyes revealing excitement, thinking Bologue was courting death.
Out of a longing for flesh, it frenziedly crushed its head, the massive hideous wolf head completely stuck in the damaged door, closely adhering to the bricks and stone, which conveniently blocked the lethal Whip Blades. Now, only its head and gaping mouth were available for combat.
As the black trajectory was about to hit the wolf head, it suddenly moved forward a bit, buildings were filled with deadly cracks, the open gaping mouth instantly swallowed Bologue, the roaring pitch-black Thunder abruptly stopped.
Palmer and Aimou froze, eyes filled with disbelief, the battlefield fell into a momentary dead silence, following this, a pitch-black Blade pierced from the wolf’s upper jaw, bringing noise back to the world.
A chilling sound of metal slicing through flesh and colliding with bone echoed, as if a coarse saw blade was wildly stirring in the wolf’s mouth. In no time, the pitch-black Blade stabbed continuously, twisted and enlarged the wound, blood gushed incessantly.
The wolf head reopened, emitted a painful wail, while a swift figure appeared in the massive mouth filled with fangs, Bologue soaked in blood, but it’s all enemy’s blood; he spun like a fully powered top and raised a pitch-black storm of blood with the deadly bite.
Along with his rapid body rotation, the deadly bite slashed thousands of times almost instantly, the sharp teeth shattered under the all-cutting pitch-black blade, mucous membranes, flesh, and bone fragments smashed into a stinking powder.
The wolf head struggled, attempting to retreat outside the door, then an abominable silhouette crawled from the bloody mouth, driving a Short Sword into the skull, fixed Bologue’s body like a rivet, his other hand tightly grabbed the deadly bite, roaring as he sliced the wolf’s entire upper jaw along with the scarlet tongue.
The Wolf-headed Demon issued a shrill wail, repeatedly bumping against the building, the half-destroyed head shook and spilled scarlet downpour, in extreme agony, it withdrew its entire head into the darkness, familiar wave sounds rose again, those retreated ordinary Demons swarmed once more.
Bologue knelt half in the blood pool, gasped heavily, understanding the difficulty hunters faced killing Demons from books, the efficiency of swords and knives ultimately pales compared to Secret Energy power. If hunters had Secret Energy, they might sweep away all Demons within the book’s plot.
At this moment, Palmer leaped over Bologue, wielding a Short Knife to take on the demon tide pressure, Aimou assisted Palmer after helping Bologue to stand up.
The two were less efficient than Bologue, but as Field Staff, they could barely withstand the waves of Demons.
Bologue coughed twice, regained some strength, then looked back at Ewen, now placing all bets on Ewen.
Ewen paused the tapping, turned to gaze at Muse who watched him with deep admiration, for a fleeting moment, Ewen genuinely felt Muse was Muse, not someone like Asmodeus.
"Such beautiful eyes."
