(A/N My sincerest apologies for the prolonged and unexpected break. I had a lot going on, so I had to temporarily put a hold on my updates. I know I deserve whatever criticism you hold but I hope you continue enjoying the story. As usual, please don't hesitate to comment or drop a review. ENJOY)

'What a pain.'
She had just given him another thing to put in his mind.
The next two days passed in the blink of an eye.
During this time, Orion made sure to keep in check with his mates, to make sure everything was going according to plan.
Caelum and Galen's group had successfully managed to pull other participants towards the Capital and they would meet later today if everything went well.
But now came the tricky part: how were they going to play this?
At first, the plan had been to disrupt the capital before the prince's elevation, which was currently three days away, but that had been changed.
From the info Orion had gotten from the infiltration team, breaking in and getting the Jade was going to be even more difficult.
They would simply run out of manpower if they were to even use distractions, especially against thousands of Sylgrid.
No, the best plan was to do it on the Prince's elevation; there was a higher chance of catching them off guard.
Apparently, what his feeling had been telling him was right, the Sylgrid Jade was truly involved in the Princes elevation.
From the name of the event, it wasn't hard to guess what the process might be about.
The main point was that the Sylgrid jade was definitely going to be revealed on that day.
So they were going to set everything in motion on that day.
For now, they had to settle the final details of their plan, and if possible, a favourable variable might arrive in the three days they had left.
It was early afternoon, and they were currently on a break.
Orion sat at the base of a tree with his eyes closed, absorbing mana into his nexus. Lately, he hadn't had much time to do anything else apart from travel; his current project was on hold.
But he still did his best to absorb mana during small breaks like this, whether to calm himself or with the hope of finally breaking past the apprentice rank.
He soon heard footsteps approaching him. He didn't bother opening his eyes; he could tell it was Emily.
She took a wooden stool and placed it not too far from him, raising her head and staring at the canopy of large leaves overhead.
"What's the plan?" She asked.
"What do you have in mind?" Orion asked back.
A small frown appeared on her face.
"You say that like you're prepared to adopt it." Emily said.
"If it's viable, of course," Orion replied.
"I don't have any, I don't know much after all." She said.
Orion hummed. She wasn't wrong; he hadn't told her anything at all.
"We'll wait for the day of the event before taking action," Orion said.
She frowned.
"You want to take them by surprise?" She asked.
"No, even if you do it now, it'd still take them by surprise, unless they know we're coming," Emily said with a thoughtful expression.
"You're following the wrong train of thought," Orion said simply.
She frowned.
"Then correct me." She said.
"It's unnecessary, you should just think of a way to convince your teammates to wait until the day of the event," Orion said.
"You want me to do that, and yet you won't tell me your plan," Emily said.
"As I said, it's unnecessary," Orion said simply.
"You shouldn't be dissatisfied, you currently have no interest in the jade, and you're paying the price for your request." Orion finished.
Emily just stared at the boy, far younger than her.
"Unless you have other motives," Orion said, finally cracking his eye open.
She huffed and exhaled.
"Let's go, break time's over." She said before walking away.
They continued their journey, and Orion did his best to steer them away and avoid contact with the sylgrid, although it was proving increasingly harder as they got closer. The current Sylgrid flow was less than the past few days, the elevation was close, and most of the Sylgrid had arrived at the capital.
By late afternoon, they finally arrived in front of the capital.
Emily had done her best to convince the rest of her group to wait until after the event or until they saw a chance that didn't involve facing thousands of Sylgrid. Though she had had difficulty quieting down those that proposed they try to infiltrate the capital.
She'd silenced them by proposing Orion do the infiltration, considering he's a Chronos.
They stayed a few hundred distals away from the capital; they couldn't be discovered now.
By late in the night, almost everyone had gone to sleep, Orion opened his eyes and turned to Emily.
"Don't forget our agreement." She said simply, and Orion nodded before vanishing.
His current goal was to truly infiltrate the capital.
He'd contacted Caelum and Galen, and both groups had arrived and had managed to convince their members to wait until the event day.
He knew Daenys had taken forceful control of their group, but he wasn't sure how Caelum had managed.
Deep down, he knew Caelum might not take the same route as him, but he wasn't worried; he trusted his best friend.
The most important part now was the capital; he needed to understand the situation inside, and for that, he needed to get inside.
Orion had contacted the infiltration group earlier; he wanted to know how they managed to sneak in.
Apparently, Tala's contact had a pathway, but he'd need some kind of Jade to pass through.
They couldn't get the Jade from Falad, so the hidden pathway was out of question.
He couldn't risk trying to sneak in and getting discovered, so he had to rely on someone who could do it with efficiency, Thaddeus.
Thaddeus sneaking the infiltration group in had been a proposal, but they'd left that choice for last, for one, exposing their capabilities to their Sylgrid allies was off the table and besides, Falad had discovered a more amicable approach.
But for Orion, whom Falad was unaware of, Thaddeus was the best option.
