Chapter 792: Chapter 822: Meeting Him

Alice Conley took advantage of her lunch break to come to the Howards Group, bringing with her a large box of items.

When she reached the floor where the President’s Office was, she met Catherine Willis and learned that Dorian Howards had gone out for lunch and might not be back for a while.

"Then I’ll wait for him here." Alice Conley placed the large cardboard box down and found a chair to sit on. After all, some things are better said face-to-face.

Catherine Willis pulled up a chair and sat with Alice, "Is there really no room for reconciliation between you and Director Howards?" she asked with concern, as she had witnessed their relationship firsthand.

Alice Conley gave a wry smile, "He and I were never suitable for each other. Forcing ourselves to be together might not be good either. Breaking up like this is actually cleaner."

"You really are..." Catherine shook her head. Although the other party spoke lightly, she could still see their turmoil beneath the surface. "Maybe if you wait a little longer, Director Howards will return to Falling City. If you really can’t let go, then... give it another try," she kindly suggested.

After all, if Director Howards goes back to Falling City, it will be even harder to meet him.

Alice Conley didn’t seem too surprised by this, as Mabel had already told her before, "Him going back to Falling City is good. The main base of Howards Group was always in Falling City."

But even as she spoke, a sense of discomfort surged within her. Once he returns to Falling City, how many more times could she see him in her lifetime?

Although he was in J City now, and they might not meet anyway, she still felt that as long as they were in the same city, she could meet him anytime if she wanted.

Suddenly, the nauseating feeling surged up again with this discomfort. Alice Conley swiftly covered her mouth and rushed toward the bathroom, leaving Catherine Willis with a puzzled expression.

Alice bent over the sink, vomiting for a good while before finally feeling a bit better, though she had pretty much thrown up all the food she had eaten at lunch.

When she exited the bathroom, she saw Dorian Howards standing in front of Catherine, who seemed to be saying something to him. As she approached, both their eyes turned in her direction.

Dorian Howards, looking at her frail figure, felt she was even thinner than before. Her pale face gave her the appearance of a fragile glass object.

"Did you want to see me?" he asked.

"Yes." Alice Conley replied.

"Alice, are you okay? What happened just now?" Catherine asked with concern.

Hearing this, Dorian Howards couldn’t help but furrow his brows.

Alice Conley smiled faintly and said, "Nothing important." She then turned to the box, bent over, and tried to lift it.

"Let me do it." Dorian Howards stepped forward and picked up the box.

Alice Conley was slightly taken aback but said nothing, only adding, "Then go to the office. I have something to say to you."

Dorian Howards glanced at Alice Conley, then carried the large cardboard box to his office. The box was quite heavy, and he wondered how someone with her slight frame could have managed to carry it here.

In the office, Dorian Howards set the box down on the coffee table and then looked at Alice Conley, "What exactly did Catherine mention earlier? What happened before I came?"
