Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife-Chapter 738 - 768: The Problem with Dinner
Mabel Quinn’s mouth twitched, and all she could do was force an awkward smile.
This was exactly the time when people were returning from work, and within a few minutes, several neighbors came home. As they passed by Mabel Quinn’s door, they greeted her and, naturally, stole a few more glances at Kyle Kinston.
"So, do you want to keep standing here and greet the neighbors?" Kyle asked.
Mabel felt a headache coming on and worried that if she stood here any longer, the entire hallway would soon know she had a "boyfriend."
Helplessly, she unlocked the door and walked inside. Kyle followed her in without needing an invitation.
"If you want dinner, you can go find a restaurant to eat at. I’m sure there are plenty of chefs who can cook dishes to your taste," she said.
He stood in the living room, examining her apartment as he spoke, "I’ll eat whatever you’re eating."
Come on, she never said she’d cook dinner for him!
"Kyle Kinston, why do you have to have dinner here? Have you forgotten? There’s nothing between us anymore," she said.
Suddenly, he moved closer to her. Instinctively, she stepped back, but his hand quickly clasped around her waist, pulling her into his embrace. "Mabel Quinn, you can’t deny the connection between us. We are destined for each other!"
Destined? Again with the destiny?!
But what exactly was destined between her and him?
She wanted to push him away, but she simply couldn’t, and his face was slowly inching closer to hers. If this continued, it would again...
"You... you just want dinner, right? Fine, I’ll... I’ll make dinner now," she quickly said.
His body paused, and his dark eyes stared straight at her. After a moment, he released her. Mabel finally managed to step away from Kyle’s embrace.
Almost like fleeing, she rushed into the kitchen, took a deep breath, and tried to calm herself down.
Alright, dinner it is. Once he finishes eating, he should leave, right?
Mabel thought this as she washed the vegetables she’d bought after work. Since there was one more person, she needed to cook a bit more. But recalling his previous stomach troubles, she made the rice particularly soft for easier digestion.
Outside the kitchen, Kyle quietly watched the busy figure inside. His right hand unconsciously lifted, as if wanting to grasp something, but he didn’t know exactly what he wanted to hold onto.
This confusion was something he had never experienced before.
What should he do to truly take control of his life and avoid repeating his father’s mistakes?
He wanted to distance himself from her, yet he couldn’t help but want to see her. He wished not to let her affect his emotions anymore, but when she stood before him, he still felt the urge to give her everything, to submit completely, just for her to spare him a glance, which would fill him with joy.
It really is... contradictory...
In the face of brutal battles and complex conflicts, he had never felt any fear, always decisive and straightforward. But facing her, he simply had no idea what to do.
