Echoes of the Abyssal Blade: Path to Free Will-Chapter 86: Professions
Looking at Jonan’s hypnotic violet eyes, Raerin himself was mesmerized; he felt as if his soul was almost pulled out, if not for his own majestic strength.
Astonished by the change in Jonan’s appearance, Raerin mused to himself, "No one in the tribe has ever had these types of changes after receiving a blessing from the ’Sunstone Piercer’, there is too much that has happened today, I should have brought the elder for witnessing such monumental changes in the boy."
After everything got settled, Jonan was now finally in control and could now move his body, unlike before.
He also noticed that the ’Sunstone Piercer’ was a bit dimmed, despite its awakening, but its form did not revert back to the one from before.
Looking at the chief, who was now too stunned to speak, was just standing dubiously, he did not even know what to ask.
Noticing the stunned chief, Jonan thought something himself instantly, the glow in his eyes turned dimmer now, and in the native’s language he said, "Chief, I humbly apologize for the inconveniences that I have caused to you, I really do not know, how everything that has happened even happened, I am not aware of any thing that I might have done."
Listening to Jonan’s heartfelt plea, Raerin’s eyes turned softer, and he thought to himself, "Acts of the divine are beyond our understanding; only the elder will have answers to this confusion."
He then smiled towards Jonan and warmly said, "Fret not, son, whether it was your intention or not, you have actually helped our colony greatly; you are now our Dragon Tooth’s greatest benefactor."
With a grim countenance, he added, "You are a foreigner from a different land; you might not understand now, but the significance of our God’s awakening is too important for our people’s survival."
Jonan was a bit perplexed, he did not know what to say, so he kept his quiet.
Raenir then added more, "Anyway, now that we are finished with our blessing ceremony, we can go to the elder, he might have answers, for the different changes that have taken place here, and also regarding your situation too."
Jonan was again a bit confused, "I don’t understand, what do you mean by my condition?"
Raenir then pressed on his forehead and laughed, "Ahh, I forgot you have not seen yourself." He then motioned him towards a mirror in the sanctuary, where, after looking at his reflection, Jonan was stunned, and he shouted.
"What the hell, how did I change so much? Do these blessings also change one’s appearance, too, apart from strengthening one’s talent?"
Raenir shook his head and replied, "You are the first case that I am seeing myself too, and from what I get, maybe it has to do with you being an outsider, maybe the blessing had a more profound effect on you."
Jonan felt a bit ashamed too, now that he was still with his thoughts, "How will my family members react, after seeing me like this, my eyes, my hair, while it’s not bad, but it has changed completely?"
Raenir then coughed, and Jonan understood and followed him outside the sanctuary. He realized he had been too audacious in admiring his reflection in someone else’s sanctuary.
Shaking his head in annoyance, he then followed behind Raenir, the chief, to meet the old man from before, whose standing in the colony is equal to Raenir himself.
From what Raenir mentioned, the elder was called Monuu; he was a Soul Hunter, and the talent of a Soul Hunter was extremely rare in the lands where they live in.
No one dares to be disrespectful to a Soul Hunter, considering their mystical abilities; they have a variety of abilities that one can only dream of, and they can control beasts to do their bidding, they can also scour a person’s memories, they have much more abilities that can turn far more frightening depending on the person.
"Elder Monuu has protected our tribe for a long time, and he is also well-versed in various knowledge, which is not much use to us, normal hunters, while he has not explicitly mentioned it himself, it is also known that Soul Hunters can also learn our fighting arts, without much difficulty."
Jonan was fascinated by the Elder, but only now did he realize that the kind-looking elder whom he had met before was a Soul Hunter, and from what he understood about it, he was sure that it was a profession under Sorcery, which is also in Dreavows.
From what he knew, in Dreavows, only after the realm of Spirit Forger can one choose a profession that they want to choose.
He had already decided that he would choose the ’Magic Spearman’ profession, just like his father, Draven the hero, who has the legendary ’Magic Swordsman’ profession.
There is no one profession that is absolutely strong, every profession has its own merits and demerits.
But there were higher classes of profession that only those Nobles possessed in Dreavows. Being born in the mightiest of the family of heroes, he would have no problem when he returns to his home in getting the profession.
But in his heart, he was not sure if the profession that was known, or even listed in his family archives, would work for him.
While he could use aura now, but his aura was from the secret technique that he practiced, and unlike Rhydian, who is just using the secret technique to supplement his strength.
Jonan is entirely dependent on it; he could not use the elemental attributes he was born with, and the aura in his body moved only when the ’Belief’ of ’Hatred’ wills it so in his heart.
He had discussed this problem with Rhydian, where Rhydian answered him that he has to be content with what he has got now, agonizing about the future won’t help with anything.
Only if he had the weapon affinity or the nucleus, could Jonan use his attribute easily, and choose a profession of his choice.
