Dumped A Scumbag At The Altar For A One Night Stand With A Billionaire-Chapter 97: A Date
I think you don’t get the point Mr Blakewood, I do not like you. Not even a little bit, you disgust me. Please, stay away from me."
Instead of being displeased or bursting out in fury, he did something Celine completely didn’t expect.
He rubbed his cheek right where she slapped him with a thrilled look of fascination on his face as he watched with a mixture of stunned bewilderment and light excitement, then he asked, "Why wouldn’t you like me?"
It was as if he actually didn’t believe that someone existed who wasn’t captured in his charms. Even though he had a girlfriend there were still women who made no efforts in hiding their attraction towards him, if he were to promise that he would leave his girlfriend for them, they would have jumped into his arms joyously.
He took a menacing step closer to her, one that would have made a woman afraid or wary if he would hit them back but she didn’t seem intimidated by him at all.
She rolled her eyes as if she had had enough of this, "You’re not my type."
"That’s easy, tell me what your type of man is." His voice was low filled with seductive intent, he really was dumb in reading the clear facts that he would have no effects on her at all. "Believe it or not honey, I can be anything you want me to be."
Does he never learn? Celine couldn’t help but let out an exasperated sigh, placing her fingers against her temple, her headache seemed to be intensifying from this dumb man’s persistence. Before she could really do anything to give him the final blow and have him leave her alone he finally moved backwards away from her personal space.
"Hard to get huh? I like that, I’ve never liked easy women anyway. Hit me if you want but get one thing straight, you will definitely be mine." He remarked confidently as he strode to the door, a crooked smile showing up on his face before he exited the office.
What the hell?! Celine thought. What part of ’I don’t like you’ does he not understand?
She shook her head in disbelief and decided to just go back to work, he would get tired of trying to pursue her eventually if she didn’t wring his neck first for irritating her this much.
Her thoughts that he would give up soon if she paid him no attention couldn’t have been farther from the truth. From that very day on, Ryan started to express his interest in her openly and publicly, at the general conference, in front of many employees, he would make grand gestures of bringing gigantic flower bouquets or send chocolates and notes to her office, in a week her trash can in the office was constantly full of those things. Celine wondered what the cleaning staff would think constantly having to get rid of them every single day.
He never passed up an opportunity to flirt with her, though Celine had slapped him once before she would maintain restraint when they were in public, hitting him like that openly would just be her publicly embarrassing him and he hadn’t tried to cross the line again to warrant that, so she had no choice but to endure his annoying flirting.
That night, she was on her way home as working hours were already over, she couldn’t wait to get back home to her kids when Ryan suddenly blocked her path immediately she stepped out of the elevator that she almost bumped into him.
"Celine, I’ve been looking all over for you. Don’t tell me you plan on leaving just like that." He had a sickening enthusiasm to his voice.
"Working hours are over Mr Blakewood, I don’t believe it’s a crime if I go home now." She retorted, trying to walk past him but he blocked her way again.
"Of course you can’t go home now, unless you want us to take our date there instead."
"What date?" She looked up at him incredulously.
"Oh, I haven’t told you yet. You and I have a date tonight." He announced as if it were a huge achievement for her.
In what world would a woman be going on a date with a man where she hadn’t even been informed she had one in the first place.
In Ryan Blakewood’s twisted little world no doubt.
Celine decided to just ignore him, in what part of his imagination had she agreed to go on a date with him? She wondered.
As she pushed past him, he didn’t stop her, but when she got to the parking lot and almost entered her car she saw him walking behind, following her. "Why the hell are you following me?" She groaned in frustration.
She was really tired right now and had very little energy to entertain him.
He chuckled despite her obvious displeasure, "Ooh, feisty. The more you do that, the more I can’t stop myself from liking you even more."
Celine felt like choking him to death and dumping his corpse in some ditch somewhere. Just where the hell did this annoying piece of sh*t come from. Wherever it was, brains were scarce there for sure.
"Look, if you’re worried about my girlfriend, we broke up." He announced as if now she would no longer have a reason to reject him. "I know what I want Celine, I’m single now and you can have me if you want."
Celine was so irritated, it didn’t matter to her whether he broke up with his girlfriend or not. What woman in her right mind would agree to date a man who most probably broke up with his girlfriend less than a week ago yet could instantly pursue another?
"No thanks, I’m still not interested. Stop following me." She said through gritted teeth.
"We’re going on a date tonight, if you insist on going home, I will just have to come with you and take our date there instead." He said seeming like he had no intentions of giving up.
Celine halted her steps as she heard that.
He wanted to follow her home?
This unrelenting piece of *******
Ryan seemed like a psycho with a smile plastered on his face constantly, he played the fool but she knew he was aware of every single thing he was doing. He said this to put her in a spot.
At first Celine didn’t care at all, he could go to her house but there was no way she would be letting him in. However, a sudden thought stopped her from entering her car.
Her kids.
She couldn’t afford to have anyone see her children or know about their existence even by mistake. Not to mention if she drove home right now and he followed her, it would be like automatically leading him to her place, and knowing her house there was no guarantee that he wouldn’t just pop out on her out of the blue someday.
What if he got to see Leo and Leah then? What if he saw their resemblance to his cousin and found out that they were related? Or worse if it led him to start investigating her and her history, he might dig up her children’s existence and put two and two together. But more than that...she was aware that there was rivalry between the Blakewood family, what if he tried to harm her kids just to get to his cousin who he clearly seemed to despise?
Celine knew when to take risks, and this one was definitely not worth exposing her children to any members of the Blakewood family.
She turned around to face him, a relenting expression on her face and a satisfied smile instantly lit up his eyes as if he had expected just this.
"Or we can go to the restaurant I reserved, you choose "
Celine gritted her teeth. "Thirty minutes and nothing more." She said.
Forget it, she would just have to tolerate this crazy man for half an hour so he would be off her tail, shouldn’t be that difficult at all.
"That won’t do honey, a date of thirty minutes isn’t enough, an hour is the least I can offer." He seemed to know he had the upper hand, a woman shrouded in mystery like herself definitely seemed to have something to hide she wouldn’t want him in her home or anywhere near it, he used that as a bargaining chip to get her.
Left with no other choice, Celine forced down rising anger and muttered, "Fine."
He immediately led her to his car, opening the passenger seat for her like a gentleman she knew he wasn’t and she got into the car reluctantly.
Celine decided to sway him from following her to her home, but he most definitely shouldn’t be expecting a good time, he would regret persistently bothering her for a date tonight. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
More than anything, she had to protect Leo and Leah’s existence, so she would play along for now.
Ryan had a pleased bounce to his steps as he happily rounded his way to the driver’s seat and ignited the engine driving off.
However, a small distance away, Tristan had just left the building when he sighted Celine getting into Ryan’s car. His expression instantly darkened into a deadly shade.
’it won’t be long before she gets into his bed.’ something Kaleb had said rang into his mind and his displeasure seemed to intensify turning the air frigid in a single second.
