Chapter 154: Dream

Celine woke up groggily the next morning, her alarm had supposed to wake her up, but she’d had a weird dream last night. It was an extremely detailed yet mind boggling dream.

In her dream, she had taken Leo and Leah to the mall for shopping but they’d stopped by the arcade to play some games, later Leo had suddenly disappeared, turned out he went to a store where he saw a display of the 1949 Elsagro watch, a classic gold infused wrist watch he had seen in a magazine and would never stop talking about.

It just so happened that the moment his hand reached for the watch, a larger and broader hand did too. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Her little boy looked up to see a face identical to his own and innocently called out, "Daddy?"

There was astonishment in Tristan’s hazel eyes as he gazed down at the boy, evidently noticing how the boy also seemed to have his exact same features.

"Son?" Tristan had called out just at the same time Celine came running to find her son.

When Tristan turned in her direction, the astonishment in his gaze faded to anger, pure unadulterated rage as his gaze settled on Leah who was right next to her.

"How dare you keep my children away from me?" He growled at her in an intense way.

"I thought...I thought you didn’t want them." She squeaked, so frightened by his tone that she began to back away.

"I might not want you, and I might not want anything to do with you, but that doesn’t mean you can hide my own children from me." He cornered her against the wall, and angrily slammed his hand on the wall right above her head.

"You are the worst kind of woman I’ve ever known. You conceived my children even though I sent you contraceptives, and you hid them for yourself. You plans have been exposed, from now on, I’ll never let you take my kids away from me again."

"Daddy, I asked Mommy about you but she never let me see you." Leah said pitifully grabbing onto the leg of his pants. "I want to stay with you from now on." Celine’s eyes welled up with tears as she looked at her daughter.

"Leah..." She called for the girl but Leah didn’t even look at her, she reached up and held Tristan’s hand as he retreated.

Celine looked over at Leo hopefully, but the boy also turned his back on her and went towards Tristan, holding onto his other hand.

"Mommy lied to us, she told us Daddy doesn’t want us. I don’t want to be with her either."

"No, please...stay with me!" Celine cried and reached for them, but something began to pull her backwards, farther and farther away from Tristan and her kids. At some point a woman appeared next to them, kneeling next to the kids and giving them a hug, before reaching up to kiss Tristan on the lips.

"From now on, we’re going to be a family." The woman said.

"Mommy." Leah called the woman affectionately and they all embraced one another like a real family. Celine’s heart broke as that force pulled her further and further away, no matter how she tried to reach for them, no matter how she tried to hold onto her children, they were taken away.

The force dumped her in a room, a dim ambient room with warm lights, the bed looked smooth. But something was strange...she knew this room.

She had been here before.

Looking down at her own body, she found herself wearing a white wedding dress, the familiar stitches, and patterns, it was the custom wedding dress she had worn at her wedding with Ian Rode five years ago, and this room...

Celine gasped and looked around, it was the very same room in her memories, Tristan’s suite where she had broken into five years ago to hide from Ian.

She felt a pair of arms suddenly hug her from behind.

"Tristan?" She called out, wondering if she were reliving the memories of that night.

"No honey, it’s me, your husband." The voice sounded familiar too but it definitely wasn’t Tristan. She immediately whirled around seeing a familiar face.

"Julian." He gazed down at her affectionately, caressing her face, but her body recoiled in a strange manner, feeling somewhat averse to his touch.

"I can’t be here, I need to get my children back." She said running away from where Julian stood to start looking for the entrance, but the familiar place where the entrance was supposed to be seemed to have disappeared, she was met with nothing but glass walls.

"Children? We don’t have children yet Celine, it’s just you and me, remember?" Julian’s voice came from behind her and she turned to him in shock.

"But I have my own children, Leo and Leah." She argued.

"They are in your past now, I am your present, I am your future. Come to me." He opened his arms and for some reason, she found herself walking towards him, tears pouring down her face at the loss of her children.

He hugged her and began to kiss her, but she found herself hating it.

’Stop, please stop...’ the words echoed but her lips couldn’t move to utter the words.

The aversion she felt to his kisses slowly began to fade away when the man holding her changed.

"I’ve always dreamed of coming back here, to be with you."

She looked up at him, it was no longer Julian, it was Tristan. His hazel eyes staring down at her with infinite adoration.

"I’ve never once forgotten what happened between us, here that night."

Her breath hitched, as unlike Julian she leaned into his arms holding him tighter.

"Why did you take our children away from me." She cried.

"I never took them away, they’re here." She looked down and Leo and Leah were right there.

"Mommy."

"Mommy."

They both echoed smilingly and she knelt down to hug them really tight.

"We would never leave you Mommy." She sobbed softly, still holding them when the scene suddenly changed.

She was no longer in the suite, she was in the wedding hall, the same wedding hall where she’d walked down the aisle to marry Ian, but this time it wasn’t Ian standing at the altar far away, it was Tristan...

He looked so tall and handsome, and he was beaming at her, she had never seen him look this happy, never seen him smile this much his dimples showed vividly.

Leah was wearing a lovely little dress holding a bouquet of flowers, and Leo was dressed in a little suit. They both looked so happy that her own happiness soared.

She walked down the aisle, her heart eager, with every step she took closer her heart raced to go forward. Tristan extended his hand towards her, also looking infinitely eager to tie the knot with her, but immediately her hand settled upon his, the image shifted and changed, it was no longer Tristan, it was Julian.

She looked towards her children and the smiles on their faces had vanished replaced by a quiet, solemn expression, then her eyes caught someone in the crowd. He stood among the guests with a detached look on his face, a woman stood beside him, her hand tucked at the crook of his elbow.

Tristan!

There was a wedding ring on his finger, the same ring on the woman’s finger as well. Her heart crashed and tears poured down her face.

"Miss Celine Roberts, do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?" The priest asked and she turned to her groom, Julian watching her expectantly.

There was a long stretched silence, a very long stretched silence before she said, "No!"

She snatched her hand out of Julian’s and ran down the altar, along the way her eyes met Tristan’s, cold, quiet, but he suddenly looked away uncaringly.

She continued to run but the altar was long, too long it never ended, until she crashed at some point and fell to the floor...
